Are you sure you have on your laptop your Nvidia GPU selected as main and not the integrated?

Also try to install the nvidia app, geforce experience is not receiving updates anymore. The latest one is posted on this channel in the nvdia driver logs, unistall geforce experience if its installed.

Check on bios or i dunno your laptop model, nowadays most laptops have an easier toggle between integrated gpu and brand gpu.
