#Gsync/VRR disengaging inside of the VRR range

I have a RTX 4080 and a Innocn 27M2V monitor. Its vrr range is 20hz to 160hz (Verified by RTINGS and CRU). However, with a game such as Fortnite capped to 60fps, Gsync completely disengages and it stutters like crazy. If I go above it at all, it re-engages. I am struggling to find info on this, but if there's some magic trick to make it work in the proper range, that would be great. The Gsync indicator stays on at 60fps, but like I said, it is 100% off at that frame rate.

I've tried with windowed too, doesn't change anything (Ik Nvidia hasn't certified this monitor, but the monitor manufacturers have specified it's compatible, and works fine when above 60fps)

You actually want to stay in fullscreen mode only for this one

What frame limiters are being used?

#

Keeping in mind the LFR threshold is intentionally set to 60 Hz/FPS on NVIDIA even if it technically can go lower...

For best results I'd probably do it like this:

In-game:
Vsync: OFF
NVIDIA Reflex: ON

In NVIDIA Control Panel:
Vsync: On
Max Frame Rate: (set it to your desired rate)
Low Latency Mode: Off

Any frame limiters in other software, such as RTSS, should be turned off entirely

If the G-Sync indicator is On, and the OSD refresh rate varies as expected (it should jiggle around 55-65Hz or 110-130Hz depending on if it got frame doubled; instead of hard locking to 60 or 180Hz)

G-Sync is, then, working correctly. You may be stuttering in game animation terms instead.

If you are not sure if the thing is working correctly, I'd probably check it with a known good game. Set that game to some low setting while your display is at the max possible refresh rate, then use NVIDIA Control Panel to force a max frame rate. Your OSD should display a refresh rate around the target FPS, or double it (if below 60)
