I know this is a bit vague so I'm wondering if there is any way to debug what's happening.
For context, I play on SteamDeck using the Steam version (mostly using it for cloud sync).
Before, I would open the game and it would boot into the menu fine, and I could go and play games normally. I binded a button to go to the Quick menu which I use to leave the game. This would open instantly as well.
Randomly, a few days ago, it started taking about 30 seconds to boot up and go to that quick menu. There's no lag otherwise (though the latter does freeze the game). The game and menu both run smoothly when they finally open, it's just opening it that's the issue.
Is there a way to debug what could be causing it, or find out some setting to toggle? I didn't mess with any settings before and after this started happening, and it seems to be fine for a start or two when I restart, so I don't know if it's a deck issue or retroarch. Maybe it could be internet or something else as well? How should I go about looking into this?
It really feels like it's timing out trying to do something, that fails, then it boots up. Which led me to believe it could be internet related, but I don't know what it could be.
