As for why I need this...
I'm finetuning the autonomy system a little.
As an integrated puppet, I believe that their function is solely for domestic affairs.
Such as building infrastructure, trade and other light jobs.
Foreign policy and the usage of manpower for the armed forces.
Overlord's duty.
Sadly, they have units already made.
I was hoping there's a way to transfer those already under their command to the Overlord.
As for preventing them from creating any other units.
That's just some minor AI tweaks.

When your integrated puppet trains a division, it acts like an expeditionary force. When you delete it, it's transferred back to their control.
What I mean is that, say for this example India, is downgraded from colony to puppet and then you get ready to downgrade them to integrated. They start with 11 divisions such as Rajput district and such, these remain under their control when you downgrade them to integrated puppet.
My desire is that when you downgrade them from puppet to integrated, they become yours completely. You can delete them and they become raw manpower instead of being turned back over to the subject's control and so forth.

The only problems with vanilla releasing is that they're not puppets and you couldn't choose to play as them once they were released.

from the mod's folders inside the mod folder
Pdox mods work by replacing files in the base game, so the files you see in the mod folder are the actual 'code' of the mod

I think the DLC content may be stored in a different folder, considering it is toggle-able

@austere perch By editing the map images in the Hearts of Iron IV/map folder. I think you'd need to edit heightmap, provinces, terrain and world_normal at the least. new provinces need unique a RGB colour, otherwise the game will identify it as part of another province

While the name is of the country that will get it.
So, for this...
It'll be...

Germany will own and control Greater London.
However...
If it's not occupied by Germany.
Then you should instead use a command that only changes ownership.
USA = { set_state_owner = 353 }
Here's an example.
In this case, the state will change owners.
So, for example, I gain ownership of state 353.
However, if I don't already have troops to take the provinces.
Then the controller will still be the original owner.
The opposite, becoming the controller, is this command.

The first X is the nation that adds the core and the second one is the state number.

There's a difference.
A claim allows you to quickly get a war goal, but you don't get the full benefit of the state you've claimed.
While with a core, you get everything, like the full benefit of manpower and factory slots.

Best thing to do regarding localisation of events is to have it like this.

X being the namespace and the Y being the event number.
T is for title, d is description and a is the option.
However, if you want to add more choices, just use the next letter like b/c/d etc.
As for the event itself...
Let me replicate it in DEMD and see if I can spot the issue.

If it works like EU4 modding there should be a nudge function in the main menu(?) which allows you to put the location for built dockyards on the coast as opposed to the center.

Kaiserreich, Great War and Millenium Dawn aren't exactly great ways to start HOI4.
The only mod I can think of that's reasonably popular and doesn't fundamentally change the game is the coloured buttons mod. You might also want Increased Resources for a more fun outside Europe game, but that will block you from getting achievements

This blank opinion modifiers document goes into a folder called opinion_modifiers in the common folder of your mod.
When you want to create an opinion modifier, you type in a name for the modifier that can connect it to your localisation folder.
So...
I dunno....
MODNAME_jap_hate
And in the localisation, it'd be MODNAME_jap_hate:0 "Whatever you want it to be in here"
The second value you type in is what the modifier does.
So, it can increase opinion or decrease it.
Since you want -50, type in -50.
As for adding the modifier to the country.
Well, you use this command.
add_opinion_modifier = { target = X modifier = X}
In this case, the target means the nation that the modifier is directed at.
And the modifier is the name you put.
MODNAME_jap_hate being the example here.
As such, for your request, it'd be: add_opinion_modifier = { target = JAP modifier = MODNAME_jap_hate}
If you want a different nation than the one that used the focus...
So for example...
The commonwealth ties focus for the UK, which adds positive opinion towards the UK to Canada and such.
It'd be...
X = {
add_opinion_modifier = { target = X modifier = X}
}
X being the nation it's added to.
So, for example...
I used your focus and it added the modifier to a different nation...
Say...
The UK.
It'd be like this...

Have it trigger an event where The UK gets the choice to transfer Newfoundland. If it accepts, have the option cause Newfoundland to be transferred and destroyers either transferred from the Canadian Navy or have them created for free.

I made a quick personal mod to replace a leader portrait in kaiserreich. i can load the mod but it doesnt actually replace the portrait, probably because kaiserreich has priority in loading the files? anybody able to help out?

you can download the non-workshop version of kaiserreich, replace the leader portrait, then install the modified kaiserreich as a non-workshop mod
actually I fixed it simply by giving the portrait mod a higher letter so its loaded earlier on

In the common folder of your mod, there should be a folder called countries.

This folder contains files that state what kind of random general pictures your country gets.
You then need to link it to the country tag of the nation via the country_tags folder.

I have one event set a timed flag for one state, and another one fires when that flag is gone, for the state that has another flag, but instead it fires for state that still has that timed flag
@upbeat frigate You probably did not have a not on it. So it was looking for states still having the flag. Could you not just have a delayed event I think you can do that in hoi4.

I know it's possible to do a delayed event, but because it will be happening in a lot of states, it could happen in very wrong order
I mean that instead of first firing for state it was fired from, it could fire for state that fired that event later
and Integrating_by_@FROM is timed flag if that matters
ok I figured out a workaround, set a timed flag to have value, and then when checking for states I am now also checking if the value is > 0
or maybe its not a workaround but just how its supposed to be used

I think there were some mentions that timed flags values are set to 0 instead of getting removed, so that might have been the problem here

the way I wanted it to work, was, at first set 2 flags: integrated and integrating
Just having "integrated" doesnt mean this state is integrated, because it still has "integrating" flag
Anyway, I found out yet another way to do it - just check how longthe flag has been on a state
