I haven't watched the vod, but here are some general tips for roadhog players:

"Take a Breather" is your survive-ability. Use it as an opportunity to leave safety for a better hook angle. When it's on cooldown, don't put yourself in danger.

Your whole kit relies around landing hooks. Every 7 seconds you should be looking for an opportunity.

You're very strong at breaking shields. Use right click to spam reinhardt/sigma shields that are at a distance.

His ult can kill anything, but it makes you very vulnerable. Here are the common ways to use it effectively:

  • You've trapped someone in a corner and they don't have a stun.
  • You've hooked a tank and want to finish the job since your combo won't one-shot them.
  • You're pushing the enemy off the objective when you're really close to capturing a point.

When reviewing your own vod, I'd recommend looking at when you died and asking yourself (and answering) the question, "Is there any way I could've stayed alive here?" The most important thing for beginners to work on is NOT DYING! It's okay for this answer to be "no", but only if your entire team was wiped or you did a crazy play that killed 3+ people.
