Hey everyone so I've finally decided to improve my Sigma and JQ gameplay. I was previously a Sigma OTP and decided to pick up JQ. I'm nt too sure what I could have done to win this game it felt extremly unwinnable.

  • Your accretion usage is really bad. You're kind of just throwing it out just to use it half the time.
  • e.g. @ 0:52, you see they roll out on rein, yet you toss your accretion at a squishy that you would never be able to kill. Against rein, accretion is your only ability to peel him off of you. You can no longer one-shot squishies with accretion+primary fire so you should be saving the accretion to counter enemy aggression.
  • e.g. @ 1:20 we waste rock into a rein shield for no reason so rein gets a free charge onto point to create space for his team, and then another free charge to pin your support
  • Should be using cover more. You had your grasp forced several times unnecessarily due to not being close enough to cover.
  • e.g. @ 1:10 Our shield is about to break so we fall back a bit which is correct; however, we don't fall back to cover so we get our kinetic grasp forced immediately after the shield breaks and get no value from the cooldown.
  • In terms of mechanics, I would focus on practicing landing your accretions more. There's several custom game codes that will allow you to do this, or you could potentially practice a bit in deathmatch. There were several moments throughout the first half of defense where you missed accretions on a charging Reinhardt or an ulting Illari

Junker Queen

  • Biggest thing is that you are tunnel visioning on the enemy tank too much. One of the biggest strengths of Junker Queen is being able to use shout and gracie to apply a ton of pressure to the squishy supports and dps in the backline. You kept focusing on shotgunning the reinhardt and wasting shout, carnage, and knife on him. It's fine to use knife occasionally to peel the rein from your team, but you should control the temp and take the initative to land knives on the backline and combo them. You could use the first half of your shout duration to engage on the squishies and during the second half while you still have the speed boost disengage back to cover. You ended up creating no space by focusing the rein
  • In terms of mechanics, the most important one to practice on Junker Queen is landing your knives on squishies. You can practice these in the same custom games that you would practice sigma accretions.
    Summary
  • Sigma
  • Think more carefully about accretion usage
  • Use cover more
  • Practice landing accretions
  • Junker Queen
  • Think more carefully about shout usage
  • Pressure Squishies
  • Practice landing knives
I would try to warm up before each gaming session for 5-15 minutes just practicing the mechanics for each character that I talked about. Then, during game I would pick one of the bullet points for that hero to pay attention to. You should then be able to VOD review your own games and make sure you are improving in those areas.
