Skincheck: Very good!
Your stats are good! Healing and Amplified could be higher.

Especially for damage boost it is important to look at who is performing well in your team and supporting him. In your case that would be hanzo or orisa. It was similar though.

You are getting distracted often. When a teammate is in danger or you want to go to safety you completely ignore your frontline which resulted in a lot of deaths.
Walk backwards when retreating. If you can't see a teammate, look out for them, but move your camera back and forth to the frontline.

If you have the choice in plat5 between damage boost and saving a teammate, always go for the save.
Boost has not as high value as in high ranks, cuz ppl hit their shots less often. THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU SHOULD HEALBOT. Only in critical situations, if you need to make a decision, go for the heal.

When the tank is brawling against the other tank it is often worth to damage boost him instead of the dps, so that your tank wins the duel. This will give your team much more space, in result your dps will perform better.
Also switch your damage boosting target faster. Orisa pushes the rein, damage boost her. You hear hanzo use storm arrow, quickly damage boost him. Try to build those reflexes to switch between targets.

You are playing too passive. Use your GA more often! If you have a teammate who needs healing in the frontline, fly to him, connect the beam and fly back. Be everywhere at the same time.

The enemy ana did not really hit nades, so i don't think kiri was necessary here.

What could you do to win this?

  • Do not leave your teammates alone, even if they are stupid. For you it is easy to escape. Especially when orisa was pushing their spawn you could have won this if you helped her.
  • Go for clutch rezzes. Right here where orisa died you could have popped valc and rez the target. Their only thread to you is hanzo and he can hardly hit you in valc. There were 3-4 more opportunities for clutch rezzed that would have saved you the teamfight in the whole game.
  • In valc stay in cover. You are often flying out in the open, makes you an easy target to shoot down.

Yeah go for whatever you think is right. Until you get the hang of it, you will suicide quite a bit. But pushing your limits is always better than being scared.

#

Hahaha, feel that, had the same problem with mercy in diamond. Asked for a lot of coaching and got a bunch of tips, but then developed my own playstyle (which is healbotting most of the time). There are a lot of different playstyles with mercy. Always push yourself and play unconfortable, only then you will learn

#

Pushing your limits will be a throw until you learn it right. But trust me it is so worth it. You will become an expert in your playstyle.
RN i am GM4, average 15k heal/min and going for every rez possible. 70% winrate... so works, even though it goes against all coaching ๐Ÿ˜‰

#

It is, but the higher you climb the more you need to damage boost. Your focus rn should be to always be on the right target.
If someone is attacked in the frontline heal him. If an ally uses a good ability, dmg boost. Quick switch!

#

Thats not the goal though ^^ My playstyle doesnt work for most ppl

#

thats a good stat

#

i usually go for 50 50

#

what do you mean? Healing too weak?

#

And you climbed out of low ranks with 80% damage boost? Thats impressive!

#

I did a lot of low rank coaching. And most of the time they couldnt climb cuz they did not heal (well) enough.

#

damn

#

i mean if that works out for you why don't you continue? Especially in higher ranks this is usually the way to go

#

But thats just mercy in general ๐Ÿ˜‚ And you can still peel for supports and pocket dps

#

Try it out! You don't need to climb to top500 in a week. And if damage boosting 80% is your playstyle go for it ๐Ÿ™‚
Unbind your damage boost/healing, fun challenge for QP. And good to get used to it! ๐Ÿ˜›

#

It is mostly about priority. I have an eye for if someone is in danger and fly to him before he even gets damage. But this comes with game experience.
At the end you just need to find a playstyle that works. Mercy is hard to climb with because you always depend on your team.
But you need to solo carry a game to get a high winrate. And you can only really do that with healing.
So just try stuff out ๐Ÿ™‚
