I can take a look at this, just say when you're free and we can sort something out
which time zone?
Pacific daylight time
Ah that's too late for me, I'll write up a review tomorrow
Already in bed at this point aha
0:50 - going for the soldier is the right play here, but every time you face a soldier you need to play around helix rocket, you're playing to make it as difficult as possible for him to hit you with it, and you can not keep going for him if you're low because you will insta die to helix. Just jiggle peek cover or blink past him, and be ready to recall if needed. Even if you trade recall for rocket here its fine because echo is coming to help and you can kill him together right after recall
01:24 - normally on low mobility squishies going for blink melee's is good, however winston is pretty much 1 clip away from death and if you waste time interrupting your reload and getting a melee that is no where near close to killing him you're just letting him get away. Melee is a very good tool to get consistent damage off on the target and with winston this isn't an issue with pulse pistols.
1:29 we follow and drop, and then just recall back. What are 2 alternatives to what we have done here?
||First option is that you blink fully across the gap and set up on the other side. This is probably the best thing you can do in down time and it means that you're giving yourself a much easier time to get value from your engages coming up. The second option is to wait from high ground for your team to push up and then go in with your team ready.||
A very very important concept you need to understand on tracer is that you want to give as much value as you can to the engages you have.
If we look at just what happened the moment you dropped down, try to guess what things went wrong that denied you the ability to get any value.
||First of all the most obviouus to me is that we are going in first in the engage. When you go in first into an engage what happens is that everyone immediately looks at you. If someone else is able to take the attention of the enemy before you go in, this makes it much easier for you to get value as they won't force you out as quickly when there's a zarya running right at them.
Next we are going in alone, it's bad enough going first in the engage but there is no follow up from our team at all. Without any follow up from our team we are putting ourselves in a numbers disadvantages. Every time there is a numbers disadvantage you will in general lose resources at a faster rate, you will use more cooldowns, and you will lose more health.
Next is that we go in when the enemy is aware of us already. Monkey knows that you're there and has positioned further away from you to compensate.||
We do however manage to keep an alright angle on the engage itself, meaning that the moment we push in we're not running straight into where they're looking at and die much faster, we can see that the Ashe's attention isn't on us and so you end up safer because they are only aware of you once you start shooting.
So in general these are the things I want you to be more aware of when it comes to tracer. You want your damage to be as meaningful as possible, so instead of always shooting, you want to do less to make the enemy aware of you until you're ready to properly engage on them. As said before we want to make sure that the enemy has their attention elsewhere on someone else engaging ideally before we go in, we want to engage whilst all of our team are able to commit to the fight (even if it's not all on the same target you can't expect zarya to help kill a backline target but you can expect zarya to hold the attention of the enemy. And lastly we want to be setting up at our own angle so we don't go directly into where they are looking at.
1:40 winston chases us, we just need to be pathing towards health packs more, we didn't need to waste recall if we just always kept in our mind going to a health pack
2:06 we shouldn't be losing track of winston this much and then when we find him we play melee range of him letting him zap us and force our recall for no reason.
2:12 Here is where our problem stems from. Yes sometimes we can stabilise on our backline, but even if we stabilise on our backline what's the big issue with how we lose value on tracer?
||We are no longer on an angle to what we want to go in on.||
If we instead of recalling or backing out towards our team went past the winston and went left, there's immediately a mega there. We are easily able to stay alive with that and we maintain a much better position to go in on
2;56 Why is what you're doing right now absolutely horrendous?
||Instead of setting up and getting a very strong position allowing you to be ready with all your cooldowns ready, you are now forced to use your blinks to get there and will struggle to be ready at a good angle to the fight once your team is ready to fight. Never stack with your team like this unless you're being marked by an enemy tracer/sombra Also we're not able to scout and see what we can engage on by doing this||
3:08 We path directly with our team and the enemy is easily able to force us out of a very obvious pathing up to bridge. We do it before the team is ready and so we get forced out immediately, we waste so many of our blinks getting here too, and then decide to recall when we couldve just gone back and picked up the mega.
3:19 this entire teamfight is so unbelievably scuffed because youre just trying to exist in it, this is what no set up and no cooldowns does. You play to survive and your targets are constantly dodging. If you and your targets are both dodging you're going to struggle to hit anything.
3:36 stop mashing melee here, you need consistent dps to be able to kill coal, you can only melee if moira will die to it otherwise she will survive longer as you cancel your reload for it.
3:43 again we aren't setting up at all and go directly with our team into them
I'm going to end it here because I think I've touched on all the important things you need to be aware of, but if you have any questions feel free to ask
If you're free rn I can go over it with you
Hm that's going to ruin my sleeping schedule sorry, I can only do right now any later and it's too late
