Context
Historically, X-Ray mods were criticized because of the obvious cheats it provides to the players. But here in the NH Team, we don't judge! There are many reasons to use an X-Ray:
- Being fed up with unlucky RNG
- Going crazy because you don't find that one cave from which you hear mob sounds
- You aren't the kind of person who loves losing time during exploration
- As a server admin, you want to easy spot hidden stuff owned by grieffers
- And many more reasons, to each their own way of playing the game!
We want to provide an official X-Ray ability because aside from the flame of distortion in the pack acting as a cave finder, there is no proper tool for this. Also, with the introduction of Angelica, many X-Ray mods have stopped working.
What features would it have
The X-Ray i used to use has the following features:
- Pressing a keybind opening a menu to add / edit / delete xray profiles
- Built-in cave finder by seeing through the ground, toggleable with a keybind
- Every profile can be set to a keybind in the keybind menu, triggering the X-Ray mod
- Built-in feature to enable night vision with a keybind
I'd also like to add the following features:
- 100% Angelica compatible!
- Servers being able to control what feature of the X-Ray is enabled, based on config.
- Choice to enable X-Ray features for everyone or operators only, based on config.
If you are interested, please let me know before working on it, so we avoid concurent development for the same project.
