Its possible to wallshare maintenance hatches but it first you got to repair it twice, once for the bottom machine, then break a casing in the repaired machine to make it an invalid structure, while the unrepaired machine is still valid, wait a little bit, repair the maintenance hatch again, then place the casing back: the results are almost magic

now put it in the middle
it will work in the middle
but you'll have to do these steps 2 more times
i just showed what im using instead of the "limit of application"
ah i also forgot to mention they also share the same mufflers and energy hatch (2Amp one)
obviously same input and output too
I know this works great for auto maintenance, but how is this useful for normal maintenance hatches?
its been running since i posted it constantly
processing all the ores i had in the back for a while now lol
This can be useful for wallshared ebf/volcanus due to limited casing space
That doesnt really answer my question. I was wondering why not just use 1 maintenance hatch per machine like normally, since it is usually the cheapest block anyway. Spartends already gave a reasonable suggestion, though i still think it is a stretch.
i just did it so i could give them all a single input
thats all
if anything i was cheaping out on the input bus
Insanity
So with auto taping hatch, you only need 1 in the middle?
I tested it and it works
Yes only one is needed
Keep in mind that one of them will get maintenance issues
Main reason why it's not recommended to wallshare
Cuz with t1 it's whatever cuz you get maintenance issues anyway even if you didn't use this cursed trick i found out
yeah i decided to against that after i found out one of the multi doesn't always get fixed
you have to break the other one for it to fix it
one of them finally got problems after constantly running the whole time
is that an ME import bus on a input bus?
Could you get it fixed using the shared maintenance hatch, or did you need to replace it again?
export lol, i changed it to storage bus a while later
needed to break yeah
idk if anyone here mentioned it yet but tier 2 maintenance hatches can be wallshared without any trickery. downside of course being you need to feed them circuits and duct tape and shit
tier 3 maintenance hatches dont support it and I think its dumb that they dont
The lpt doesnt make any sense, you use more resources for extra casing, and the amount of casings on each machine remains the same, so it counts towards max amount of casings on every machine
yeah
Isn't it simpler to ductape them all if they aren't beeing moved? THis would remove the need of maintain them 🤔
Duct tape is not a permanent fix my sweet summer child
wait not? since when? ductape was introduced in GT to remove the need of maintenance, has this changed?
Unsure about other things but in NH
It's just a glorified toolbox
Although I heard here and there that duct tape lasts longer before maint issues occur
Wired, so this looks like a change for NH maybe? In general ductape was introduced to remove the need of maint. Should have stayed if this was changed so when a maint hatch get's taped it's done for it's entire life.
Other maintence hatches exist
I see
duct tape has literally never been permanent
it just acts like every tool combined when it comes to maintenance
so you dont have to carry around every single tool to repair shit
the auto-taping maintenance hatch (tier 3 maintenance hatch) does permanently fix maintenance issues, but thats a pretty high tier block
can someone send me how to quard ebf's
theres just not enough room
even with sharing all busses and input hatch
The auto-taping one seems can't be wallshare
It can form, but after running a long time the issue still appear.
@marsh pier my original idea ™️ is being challenged
