Also when I run ipython with --simple-prompt, I can type them. Tbh I can't type anything special like ~ or `. This is strange.
Does anyone have this problem? I'm just not sure if this a powershell problem in general or not

You mean you can't type single quotes in ipython running from a powershell instance? I don't think it would be PowerShell, but maybe it depends on how you started ipython.

OP: is this for wsl or in a linux shell ( on windows) ?
Are you invoking that from within a python instance,
or, running python from a pwsh instance?

well... I'm not sure why, I just tried again to gather some intel on this, but it works now - in vscode and in windows terminal too
so yeah, I basically coudn't type them at all, like I press the key and nothing happens, nothings at all - no errors, no ctrl sequence things like ^C etc
