I have a lead on the Edge uninstaller telling me it might succeed/fail depending on its parent process, requiring SystemSettings.exe in order to complete the task. Does anyone know how I can initiate a process as a child of something that isn't powershell.exe?

Maybe watch in ProcMon while you perform the action via the Task Manager or Services GUI?
