#Question about "pretty fly for White guy" tab

Hello so i was playing pretty fly for a White Guy by "The Offspring" on this tab but i was wondering why he wrote
B ---6/7--
G ---5/6--
D ---3/4--

Instead of

G ---10/11--
D ---10/11--
A ---8/9---

Does it change something to the sound ?

so its really just 2 ways of playing it they pretty much sound the same so it really jut depends on how you wanna play it
