This is about why posting on #guitar-and-music makes more sense for people who are looking for answers, and why that needs to be addressed if you want people to use the dedicated channels for their questions

The person who asked is getting a lot more replies/help here than on the dedicated channel. Might need to address that in a way that makes it more worthwhile for people post on the dedicated channels, because as it is, being shepherded away from this channel tends to result in less participation and less help. When you're doing it this way, you're shutting down the help, and the dedicated channel continues to be quiet

If you've tried the automessage and it didn't work, then the only suggestion that comes to mind is consistent human moderation

I've been thinking about this and the only thing I've arrived at is that we want some kind of system to reward active server users who answer questions and help people on dedicated channels. This way you would get the users who normally chat here to nudge newbies etc. to move their queries to the dedicated channels *. I'm not sure what kind of reward would work but maybe something to do with roles? Give people more "impressive" or "prestigious" roles based on how much they're doing that

it's complicated for gear since there are so many stuff to know about, but for theory and playing we have enthusiast roles

Well, for what it's worth, I might have some users in mind I could suggest for the enthusiast role but I'm not even sure how to go about it, so writing up how the system is meant to work and making it visible could help

#

But also from what I can tell there aren't really anyone from staff active on e.g. #playing-techniques💪 so that's why you wouldn't be getting any suggestions

Roles <@&1168534611924635659> and <@&1168824485235937300> aren't self assigned . It is given by the moderators after participating and efficiently helping users and getting submitted by satisfied users.
As a user I still don't know how and where I can submit feedback on other users on this, could we flesh this part out? Ping staff? DM someone?

Just give it to the hyperactive roles, like the reaction perms in music theory etc

my issue is that hyperactive or nitro role isn't a proof of quality over quantity
