Such as: Fender role for strats and tele's..., Gibson for Les Pauls, SG's..., Ibanez for... idk.. iceman, Jackson etc...
This role has a few purposes purposes such as allowing new users or veteran users to identify other who might have the knowledge specific to that brand such as a les paul player looking for someone who might know information about switches and pick ups for modification.
Allows users to rep their favorite brand(s) for the sake of representing.
and uhh, yea, thats it.
#Roles based around the Guitar brand you use/own/have knowledge of

Self assigned roles are a pain
even 3rd parties?
why, people just pick and choose
but thanks for saying no
firstly you ping strat role, and then 8 milion people wanna murder you, then you have those who sell their guitar and will ping staff to remove the role...hell on earth
let's use channels and threads, not roles
People are already organically using their server-specific nicknames to communicate what brands they like or dislike
Then turn off “allow anyone to mention this role” in server settings. You act as if you’re open to suggestions with #1331153326036746310 - but you’re not. Sometimes you just say “No.” with no further elaboration. Other times you don’t even answer after a few messages back and forth. It doesn’t seem to be a “team” decision either as you’re the only one answering these. (when you do answer)
It’s pretty disappointing that a “community server” is anything but. There are so many other examples of threads like this with good people recommending good ideas that want to help your server grow and flourish.
And nothing will come of this. You will continue to do things your way, or no way.
Don't mix everything :
-Staff and all users are welcomed to answer in #1331153326036746310 and if they don't read/answer, it's not my fault
-I'm the admin and responsible of the server so sometimes I answer quick no or maybe. I do it with the 10 years experience we got from managing this server, not from random choices.
-The way the server works and is wanted to be used is not always to everybody's content, but choices are made.
Now, roles are a discord gimmick that creates more work than really effect in a positive way
on the other hand, we have #1019842033420083211 and used to have #1169276564366708868 which allow people to discuss precisely about a brand
we are always open for ideas, but the effort must be in help for beginners and learners, I'd rather work on a reputation system for helping people rather than another badge that will not help
this is the stupidest take i've ever seen, adopting a tag isnt the same as being pinged for it
and secondly, no sane individual will ping, "fender" the same as no one pings "everyone"
"10 years experience" says you're gonna ego everything
role pings are decided by staff
you already know that, since you have 10 years experience
@next sedge thx for responding and saying no
<@&798469703550763008> I think veln doesn't know how the server works and I really appreciate passive agressive convos
so if they can't be pinged what's the point of having them
you can just put your gear in your bio and be done with
☃️
roles to show “expertise” on a brand for modification is kinda useless
cus all guitars are more or less just the same shit when it comes to modifying parts
its not like a fender humbucker is any much different than an ibanez branded one
its just to show what brands you're into
there is no use for it outside of expressing what u like
People already do that with their server specific name
i have not seen an example of that ever, pls refer me to fenderfanboy2000, anyway, im done posting in this thread
You haven't paid attention then
🤷
here’s my retort: 🫃
When I think about how many brands are out there, and how messy managing all that could get, plus how inflated users' amount of roles would become... I'm against it
