Should i get an adaptor that i will plug directly into the guitar or should i invest in an amp like the boss katana 50 ?

If you plan to only play with headphones then you can get a headphone amp, a multi FX pedal, or an audio interface and use PC software for that

#

You can still connect speakers to those but that's more to set up if you want to travel with it or play with other people

If your use case is to only play through headphones, I would really look into a multieffect you can plug directly, like a Valeton GP-5.

Why not get a headphone amp? Best of both worlds and you get a bunch of extras like Tuner, metronome, etc.

Or if you want something a bit beefier, a floor modeler is also a great choice.

Definitely the best deal out there.
Sound-wise, I'd say the new ToneX Plug, or the Blackstar (Forgot the model name) are phenomenal, but they're also the newest on the market.

For pure practice muscle with some great sounds and extras, the Mighty Plug Pro is great!
