Which one of these guitars would be the better pick?
Would also love to see other suggestions for guitars ~$600 with this color

that depends how much u want to change tunings and if u want a trem
id also recommend the version of the prs w the trem if u want a middle ground but it only comes in a satin version of that blue
The better pick for what? Just in general? Or do you have a certain thing you’re going for
Ibanez has the S521 which is cheaper than both of those, it comes in blue but it’s a little different
i like to play a wide variety of genres, so something versatile and comfortable
how often do u change tunings
even if it is to drop d
not really at all tbh
i mostly go for cleaner tones in indie and jazz/fusion, occasionally some classic rock and grunge
do u want a trem
i think one would be nice, although it's not a dealbreaker either way for me
?
The Ibanez S521 destroys everything in its price range of low $400s and it would save you some money if you’re not looking for a trem system.
But they’re all nice guitars
this would be my rec it is the prs but w the prs trem
so it isnt locking but is still floating
Originally introduced in 1988, the CE has become an essential part of the PRS line-up, offering the snap and response of bolt-on construction. The SE CE 24 Standard Satin is the most affordable CE yet, pairing an all-mahogany body with a bolt-on maple neck. The mahogany body features a thin satin finish that results in a highly resonant instrume...
will be visiting my local guitar shop later to try out some guitars, what should i be on the lookout for when playing?
playing an iyv prs knock off rn and its p nice, but looking to upgrade a bit
what feels comfortable and has good specs
what are some specs i should look out for?
if u like the iyv one a prs se u would probably like alot
I like this one a lot 🙀 but that’s not exactly satin blue
https://reverb.com/item/93198867-paul-reed-smith-se-custom-24-23 if u are ok w this shade of blue i would recomend a 24-08 over the ce just for the extra pickup combos it does
there is also a turquoise but it is abit further away from the blue u like
does the ce not have coil splitting?
it does but it is 1 push pull that does both the 08 allows u to do 1 humbucker and 1 single coil at the same time
like it has 1 mini toggle per pickup for coil split instead of 1 push pull that does both
the Aaron Marshal sig from Schecter is also quite pretty
No, if I do get a trem it will be my first one
Any tips on what to look out for or general advice?
For what exactly? A guitar with a tremolo?
yeah
Get an Ibanez with the edge system. It’s fantastic and they’re relatively cheap
Floyd’s and Ibanez’s Edge Trem (designed by Gotoh) trade blows. They’re both really good
I just put a filter in GC for 600 as the maximum, in stock, new, with locking tremolo and you should get some good results
Just remember that if you do get a double-locking tremolo that you can’t really tune it easily. You’ll need to fine-tune it at the bridge with a tool. Is that what you want to do?
Do not get a floating double locking rrem as a first guitar w a trem
I recommend getting something w a normal trem or js get a hardtail
what's the difference between locking vs non locking trem?
i'd prefer ease of use tbh, unless the benefits are significant
Tuning stability is incredibly good on the double-locking trem
And it’s difficult to tune the double-locking trem if you don’t know what you’re doing. jabn’s advice is good.
sounds good, thanks for the help
Get the one of the prs SEs w a trem then
