girl*
along w picks, a strap and a bag
i get that
i really reccomend a fender padded guitar bag
i have one, it's great
it's not the prettiest
bundles are largely shit
the amp in the bundle will always be total ass
Agreed
I would save up just a little bit until you can buy a FB marketplace Squier Affinity + a setup + a Katana 50 or something
This is actually not bad. But it’s $59 over your budget.
i get its preference but why would they throw in those dinky ass .0001mm picks with a guitar aimed at metal players
thats a warcrime
Definitely
idk you should call Sweetwater and ask
Noted! I’ll save up more so I can buy a good guitar, amp and case
Okay noted! Thank you so much
Yes this is the method
Also a quick note here, if you're ok with using headphones for practice, I'd forgo the amp and get a floor modeler or headphone amp instead.
That way you have a lot more tonal options available, most units nowadays act as an interface, so you can connect to your computer or phone and record directly, and most modelers have certain extras such as:
- built-in tuner,
- metronome,
- drum machine,
- looper,
- Jam Tracks, etc.
Which will benefit you in your practice sessions.
So, just looking on Thomann here:
Yamaha Pacifica 112V = 329 Euro
Mighty Plug Pro (modeler) = 89
Total = 418 Euro including everything you need. Well, perhaps a pick might help, if you don't have one yet.
If you're in Europe, you can also look into Harley Benton guitars, which do seem rather Ok for the money, and then the price would come down even more.
Above is just a very quick example; of course you can substitute other modelers and/or guitars... but for a quick, easy, useful, and fun to play beginners "set", that's your cheapest option above.
Heyyy! Okay maybe I might do the floor modeler because I’ll be in university and I might have a roommate 😭. Thank you so much for the suggestion!
wise choice
Well, if you're going to be in college in a dorm/co-living situation, then DEFINITELY get a headphone amp or a floor modeler. Best choice in that situaiton.
outside of jam sessions, I almost exclusively use my modeler with headphones and its great!
I use a Hotone Ampero II Stomp with AKG K240s
Same. I've sold pretty much all my heavy amps/cabs, etc. and have gone all in on modelers at home, in the studio and at gigs. Never going back.
amen, its so much more convenient
Absobloodylutely. I'm not one of the young guys anymore, and my back thanks me every day not having to haul heavy equipment around to/from gigs or the studio anymore. Life - changing. 😆
im a very young guy, being 18 im very limber and strong, and yet I would not remain that way very long if I had to lug around that 100w combo amp i used use. that thing was fucking HEAVY, and very hard to move through tight spaces. now ive got a carrying case the size of a clarinet case for my floor unit, and a PA speaker and thats the whole rig. soooooo much easier and it sounds fantastic
Fantastic!! Welcome to the club!! 👍
Wait that’s so smart😭
You can connect modelers to speakers to use as an amp or headphones to basically practice in silence
yep
i bought a PA speaker to use for jam sessions and shit
and i use studio headphones at home
Exactly!! That's also the reason why I usually recommend either a headphone amp/modeler, or a floor unit to beginners instead of getting a cheap, crappy amp.
You end up getting a lot more for less money. And your family/neighbours/flatmates will thank you. 😄
modeller + frfr speaker is the new meta
i loveee tube amps but they are not worth bringing to gigs all the time
Yes!!! That is absolutely right. Modeler + FRFR in the studio, Modeler + headphones at home, and at Gigs, modeler plugged into the mixerboard, or house PA is so much easier than lugging heavy equipment around.
I kinda want the synergy one with some modules ...sort of the bestnof both worlds
im sure sound techs love that because most modelers have xlr out, which is SOOOO much easier than micing up an amp
then just run line out to a wedge for a stage monitor, and there you go
