I am thinking of buying this, I play djent and metalcore, but this would be my life savings. I have been playing for two years and a half and I'm good at everything but shredding. I'm looking for a pedal platform for great cleans but crushing distortion at the press of a footswitch. I have an overdrive already that I can use as a boost.
#Please give me your gear wisdom.

Why not a combo?
Orange crush 100 maybe, less versatile than the boss, but one of my favourite amps, has a clean and a gain channel, the gain channel is pretty good, theres a video by andrew baena showing its capabilities with metal. Or you could make a pedalboard amp with a harley benton gpa 100 and something like the valeton gp200 or gp5+midicontroller, that would give you even more versatility than a head, you can use any preamp and even your daw. Other amps i like in your price range:(some of them might not exactly hit your taste): blackstar debut 100ht, plexiesque with completly clean, clean channel, great as a pedal platform, bugera v55 head, any of the orange baby line, they're specifically made to be used as a pedal platform, alternative to the gp100 is any seymour duncan powerstage. If you go a cheaper route you could also get the digitech drop, if you go the digital route the polychrome dsp hypertune(best pitchshifting method amongst both digital and analog). For the guitar, i would also look at the solar sevenstrings and the cort kx707. The solar are absolute bomb for the price. The prs is cool, i personally just dont like the feel of most prs. Also both the solar and the cort come with seymour duncan pups, although not signature ones; the solar ussually come with they're proprietary sd pickups and the cort with a sentient and nazgul i think.
All the other stuff is rocksolid
Also a sidegrade to the revv would be a solar chug
