Hi, I've a budget of 600e for fullcombo (guitar/amp and all stuff),
I played acoustic guitar years ago but I stop it, and I always wanted to start play electric, now I've time for this.
I love metal/doom, especially long high riff like saturnus, swallow the sun etc
I don't want start with a low budget because I don't want to be too limited so I put higher budget, 600e, with a Ibanez grg131/katana 50 Gen 3. I'm a rookie with all 'electric' stuff so if you have recommandation or anything else, you're welcome.
Thanks!

Oh, that's actually pretty cool. I would say if you want to, go for it. No trem means no worries there
Make sure you're allotting funds for the cables and all
Yeah I buy it in physical shop, to help me, (woodbrass) I'm french
Okay then, you have a green light from me, given you're only playing metal and doom
You'll basically always have gain up
If I'm not mistaken, infinity R is not the best for metal but it's a good mic, yamaha pacifica is good also but I think grg131 with infinity R is better if I want specialize in metal.
Sorry for my English
I can play other thing,
I don't want to choose a guitar that does everything and has trouble with metal
Acoustic guitar is easier than electric cuz with Amp, pedal, mic etc.. Wow a lot of thing from a rookie
And an other question , I don't understand expression pedal, because katana 50 have lot of effect but if I want modify this, I need to change on the Amp.
I was told it would be more practical to have effects pedals to complement this instead of modifying it directly on the amp.
520e just for the combo, and 80 for the rest. I can just take basic stuff and buy the rest after.
anything with humbuckers will do metal
its more about the amp which the katana has enough gain between the lead/brown channel and the booster pedals to drive any humbucker way harder than you would ever need
however, the grg has a thinner neck which lends itself well to metal, and of course it looks the part
so basically get whatever one you like more
depends. the amp has some good fx on the physical controls, but there wayyyyy more with software. either you'll need to plug into a PC or laptop via a printer cable, or buy the Bluetooth adapter and use the phone app
however, the katana has 4 channels and 2 banks, so basically 8 channels, and you can save fx setups there, so once you set some sounds you like, you wont need to go back into the software unless you want to make new ones
the katana is perfectly fine for metal without the software, you arent likely using a ton of weird fx, but to get the very most out of it, you'll need to use software
If I want switch between clean and overdrive or something else, I can use pedal? The katana can take expression pedal by katana but I understand nothing
they sell a footswitch for the channels
