#Cream - Sunshine Of Your Love

Big part of the "woman tone" is turning down the tone knob of your guitar. Well, ideally you'd need a gibson style guitar with two humbuckers and two sets of controls, but depending on your strat circuit you should get reasonably close.
On the amp, bit of overdrive and lots of mids.
Try the neck or neck+middle positions, and turn down the respective tone control completely.
But experiment with which pickup to use.
neck+ middle = the knob at the middle?
I have 5 pos selector im using that position 90% of the time
Neck+middle means the selector switch on position 4.
Tone control, well, don't know what your wiring is.
oh ok, and on the fender mustang lt25 we have amp simulator, with some effects should I set something?
Some classic marshall model, whatever that is on the lt25. Probably something "Brit" or whatever. No effects, just enough gain and lots of mids. Rest to taste.
I've tried few thing 60s fuzz, brit 64 rythm but it seems to heavy
to fuzzy also for 60s fuzz
i've also tried "custom" thing
70s rock for example
I'm not really familiar with the amp, I recommend just trying out the various options and listening to what's closest.
Yes I did that before coming here for help I find it just has nothing to do with the sound of Sunshine of your love 😦
Brit 64 sounds reasonable, if it's.too heavy, reduce the gain
for the brit 64 rythm I have that settings :
60S UK CLN amp
Gain 1.8
Vol 5.0
Treb 8.1/Mid 6.7/Bass 7.3
no stomp/no mod/no delay but a rev "plate" lvl 3.8/decay 5.5 /tone 5.5
I dont really know the amp, probably needs more mids. Maybe some fuzz before, the sunshine tone is fairly fuzzy
But I think it's just the a JTM fully cranked
jtm ??
ah ok
I mean, back then he probably cranked all the eq controls, don't think the lt25 works the same way.
But then I'm not trying to reproduce 100%, it's impossible, but I just want to make a sound more or less similar, because frankly it's horrible to play this song with a crappy sound xD
well it's not horrible just doesn't sound right because of my settings
I play clean 3/4 of the time but for this sound I'd like the right stuff
70s rock would be the most fitting amp model I guess.
Well, large part of the tone is rolling down the tone knob on the guitar. Ideally with humbuckers
And how he plays
I had read that on a SSS you should put the 2knob to 4
Well, have you tried it?
Roll it off completely.
im close of something
for me there its always too heavy but bass settings on the amp sim is at 2.3
gain on the amp sim is at 1.5 but overdrive at 4.5
im prob at the max atm
i will share an audio
I think it needs more gain actually. The tone on Creams album is rather fuzzy
More gain on overdrive and amp sim??
Leave out the od, just on the amp.sim
I remove the od ??
Without Overdrive
oh and also 5 of gain instead of 1.5 on the amp sim
Which amp sim?
70s rock 🤠
Try maxing the gain, and, well, just playing like Clapton is where the Real tone is.
I'm going back to 5 gain because at 10 it crashes hard and when I turn down the master I feel like I'm losing sound quality
But I think that's as close as I can get in terms of settings after all, as you say, you have to play clapton-style and that's where the most work lies in the end.
Thanks for your help a last audio record with gain 10
You need a humbucker to get the tone properly without just outright modeling it(and even then it won't sound correct.) Clapton got the studio tone through a fender champ cranked through likely a 339 or possibly an SG, tone rolled down to about a 3 on the bridge pickup, volume at about a 6 or 7 during the rhythm, full up on solos
@humble locust you do not require a special pickup or guitar. you can play that song with what you have.
this sounds fine for working on the timing issues
yeah its ok I won't do better at the moment but its cool, way better to improve my skills than a clean amp xD
ima work on my issues thanks for help
Well, this is tone sculpting, innit. The whole point is getting a certain tone from the gear aside from the actual playing itself.
help the person get the tone they need, if you think they need to work on that. the tone is fine.. the person has a tone that is fine to work on the actual issue, which is the rhythm.
Yes, but I was working on this track on a clean sound, which isn't very motivating, but fortunately it helped me, otherwise I'd still be on my rotten clean sound. It's not perfect yet, but as you say, I lack rhythm etc., but now I've got a sound that's a bit more motivating to work on
Thanks you @rancid epoch
It sounds like your hand positioning is wrong when you're going down to play the lower notes on the starting riff, after the ba du du du either walk down with your ring middle and index on those three descending notes or use your ring finger on all three, either way pull your hand back and play the note on the low e with your ring so that your index is already hovering over the note on the A
I mean the delay between the 10 on the e and the 8 on the A, it sounds like you're trying to play both with your index or something similar
maybe a lack of rythm
Ah yes I see I think I even understand why I don't do this rhythm in the beginning I think it comes from my positioning the delay comes from the fact that I change my position I think
I do the 12 12 10 12 withtout changing position but too much delay to do 12 and 11 on A string
Ima retry
try just singing or clapping along with the original
one that but its not that rythm
Ok lets try that
it seems very easy to reproduce while listening but ON THE GUITAR damn, aam I retarded? xD
when i clap on the beat its seems very easy
but on the guitar i lost the rythm
its maybe too fast for me?
oh i think i know why I will do a draw to explain
grrr its hard to explain which finger I use
The first time around on the intro it does have two notes at the end, the second time it has one, but Im pretty sure he's just not sliding his hand back at the right time
please direct your assistance to the OP. im not asking how to play this music. thanks
your tone is fine. you can start a thread at #1175366926562775050
"The second time around on the intro it does have two notes at the end" ok. i never said it doesnt. this is an uncessary side-tracked agrument that has nothing to do with what i suggested.
I'm happy to make you laugh xD I'm going to create a thread over there with a video I just made
