Hi I'm planning to buy my very first electric guitar in around September what's a good budget friendly electric guitar?, i'm learning on acoustic till september and switch to electric

Classic vibe stratocaster HSS

#

or
Sire S3 HSS

proper hare
#

Cause you will also need an amp or an interface

lament turtle
#

@vague escarp very vague, need an explicit number

vague escarp
#

something around 100 dollars

#

Forgot to add

#

don't need amp

#

Just the guitar

#

only a beginner anyways

lament turtle
vague escarp
#

Oh no I'm just gonna use headsets for the guitar since I dont wanna be loud, and my house isn't that big

lament turtle
#

So you just plugging into an interface and direct outputting?

vague escarp
#

Something like that

lament turtle
#

Ok fair

#

Uh so first, with that budget, totally not a classic vibe or sire worth one

2… what country?

vague escarp
#

phillipines

#

100 dollars here is like

#

10k in pesos

#

not that easy to get money here unlike dollar bills

lament turtle
#

Ok that is a bit unlucky

Imo, your best bet is to find a yamaha pacifica used

#

Like in the local markets

vague escarp
#

Oo okay

lament turtle
#

I know this is an AMERICAN amazon but, I think it gives a better frame of reference

#

Like uh

#

Look on ebay

#

Or reverb

#

Or Facebook Marketplace

#

Mercari maybe

vague escarp
#

I can order from Amazon they ship stuff here

#

But costs extra soo

#

Nevermind

lament turtle
#

Yeah, I just don’t know how much extra it is

#

And like

#

$100 isn’t really gonna get you a good guitar new anyway

#

But sometimes

#

There’s these people

#

They buy a beginner’s guitar being like “ayo, new years resolution time”

#

And then give up and sell it for really cheap

vague escarp
#

Oh

lament turtle
#

Whether that happens in the phillipines? Dunno

vague escarp
#

Wait in my country there are a lot of people here who sell used stuff actually

#

Yes that happens

lament turtle
#

Nah like for example

#

There’s this dude

#

Bought a $500 guitar

#

Gave up

#

Sold it to me for $100

vague escarp
#

Wow

lament turtle
#

I mean REALLY dirt cheap

#

But Yamaha Pacifica 012 doesn’t maintain a lot of its value anyway

#

And it’s still a pretty damn good guitar

#

Like I bought mine for $50

#

It does take some time and patience

vague escarp
#

It's unlikely I find a Yamaha Pacifica in the Facebook marketplace

#

Most of the sellers are

#

Gibsons, stratos, telecasters, jaguars

lament turtle
#

What even is available in your area anyway

#

Within the budget

vague escarp
#

uhh

#

On malls there's these I found for 8k pesos

lament turtle
vague escarp
#

In dollars

lament turtle
#

Stratocaster, telecaster, les paul, they just shapes

vague escarp
#

75 I think

lament turtle
#

Also you don’t need to convert pesos to usd for me, it’s fine

vague escarp
#

I didn't see the brand names

#

Oh okay

lament turtle
#

Description say anything?

vague escarp
#

Head is shaped like a stratocaster

lament turtle
#

Or pictures maybe?

vague escarp
#

It just looks like a stratocaster

#

Don't have

lament turtle
#

Huh, yeah I would stay away from unbranded guitars especially on the used market

vague escarp
#

But since it's 8k I thought it would not be that good and will easily break

#

I don't wanna cheap out

lament turtle
vague escarp
#

10k here is worth a lot already

lament turtle
#

Which ain’t bad, you can still get a good lot through cheaping out

lament turtle
vague escarp
#

Yeah different places different valies

#

Values

lament turtle
#

Look up for squier, epiphone, yamaha, and harley benton electric guitars, and sort by lowest

#

Like any electric guitars under those brands

vague escarp
#

I'll probably be only looking for Yamaha, Epiphone and benton

#

They say squire is bad

#

Squier

lament turtle
#

So for example

#

Squier Bullet or Squier Sonic or Squier Starcaster?

#

Bad, rather kill myself than buy them

#

Squier Classic Vibe? Squier 40th Anniversary? Squier J Masci Jazzmaster?

#

So good it beats a lot of the fenders

vague escarp
#

Well since I don't know much about electrics and only learn from the internet I don't really know what's good and bad

lament turtle
#

The trade off is that they’re on the more expensive side…. Like $400-600 here new, but like $300 or less used

That’s the US markets and probably won’t apply

lament turtle
#

Do post listings here and I can give you my personal thoughts

vague escarp
#

Oh okay

#

I found this one from the TikTok shop

lament turtle
#

But anyways, the ONE brand that’ll likely hit sub $100 is yamaha

#

Out of those four

lament turtle
vague escarp
#

Yamaha sounds good

#

But this one. I found is 4k and has a brand name named KAWES

#

here

#

Wait

lament turtle
#

Yeah no don’t

vague escarp
#

oh

lament turtle
#

I just looked it up, has a bit of problems

vague escarp
#

It was 3k

lament turtle
#

(Also check craiglist too)

vague escarp
#

Oh that was fast haha

#

Okay nevermind so most of the guitars in the shop are worth 2k to 5k

#

Can't trust because it might arrive damaged

#

Found guitars from Yamaha but only shows over 15k - 20k

#

I'm probably gonna just look for ones in marketplace then

lament turtle
#

Marketplace will totally be cheaper

vague escarp
#

Found ones 9k - 12k

#

Squier by fender debut series

#

Name way too long

#

No luck in yamaha

#

Most Yamaha guitars here are worth 20k

#

Even reaching 110k

lament turtle
#

I’ve heard ok things about it

lament turtle
vague escarp
#

Well then squier it is

lament turtle
#

Yep

vague escarp
#

I just want my very first electric guitar to be decent at least haha

lament turtle
#

Yeah everyone should start out with a decent guitar

#

Because if your guitar is garbage, you wouldn’t wanna play it

#

But I think the debut will be fine

vague escarp
#

Yeah
