most every brands on earth do HSS guitars

#

its not like a brand specializes in it

#

your questions extremely vague so ill just say go get a Suhr HSS then and call it a day

You can go for one of those $2000 professional Yamaha Pacificas that I've never seen recommended here

budget around 1500 dont have a huge issue with goin up in budget just means another 2 weeks instead of like right now

#

@cobalt inlet I have been looking at the suhrs im just wondering if they are maybe to expensive for what you are getting

fringe crystal
#

not what are they lacking

#

but more so are they asking more due to brand/rep

#

for example like an eastman vs a gibson

cobalt inlet
#

their reputation isnt misplaced

#

they really are very good instruments, you do get what you pay for

#

if youre asking if you can get something similar to them for cheaper?

fringe crystal
#

word my local luthier has been trying to get me on a eastman for a minute now but i love single coils/strats

#

Honestly if you can attest to them u seem to play alot/active in community i might just get a used suhr

#

i really dig the pacifica i played at my guitar center recently/and the suhr just looks like a more jacked version

cobalt inlet
#

i dont play much guitar, most of my experience with suhrs is working on them when i was a technician

fringe crystal
#

oh wow thats cool

cobalt inlet
#

if you liked the pacifica

#

i know they made a jacked up version of it

fringe crystal
#

#lovedthepacifica

cobalt inlet
#

the pacifica professional plus

#

it pretty much has every single spec category jacked to the max for most commercial guitars

#

think its 2000 something

fringe crystal
#

essentially my research indepently has lead to pacifica due to the high qc or brands like suhr or high end luthier builds

#

im gonna go demo a suhr and ill post whatever i buy in this thread in a month or so

cobalt inlet
#

bang for buck is higher on the pacifica professional

#

ive never played one so cant comment

#

but ill bet good money its very well built

#

for Suhrs, every one ive come across is really kinda the tip of the spear as far as what you can get in the market of guitars

#

quality will top out around the market that Suhr and other boutique brands occupy

#

again tho, if bang for buck is important to you. the pacifica professional will likely edge out on the suhr

#

once you pass 2k ish, the quality of guitars dont really get too much bigger

fringe crystal
#

its only like 600 dollars difference for a used suhr vs new pro plus yamaha

cobalt inlet
#

just know that whatever u go with

#

ur in the price bracket where quality doesnt have a huge shift

#

youll likely be very happy with both

fringe crystal
#

bet ill update this whenever it arrives

#

ooo the suhr has an hsh model nvm probs gonna get one of these XD

cobalt inlet
#

if your store has either id say try em out

#

if the suhr u see is an hsh

#

ur probably looking at a suhr modern

#

which has 24 frets

#

as opposed to the yamahas 22

#

another thing too, ik most suhr hss standards have non contoured heels. while the yamah has a sculpted heel

#

if thats something that matters to you

fringe crystal
#

yeah i did see that and it is semi important

#

nice touch forsure

cobalt inlet
#

ya, suhr 22 fret HSS’s, or any of their standard models, r moreso like extremely well done classic strats

#

while Yamahas route is moreso modernized and with some extra bits and bobs like a chambered body, contoured heel, etc

fringe crystal
#

mordern strat vibe gotcha

cobalt inlet
#

no experience with the pacifica professional yet but its on my bucket list, plenty of suhrs tho, theyre all fun. if i were you i’d go for the moderns too, theyre just not in HSS
