If you're looking for something cheap go for an Indonesian guitar over Chinese. Fit and finish is better on average for a very similar or the same price. But if the Chinese one feels good and you'll be happy with that then it's just as good of a starting point.

Where do you live? Indonesian and Chinese factories typically make the same models of low end guitars like epiphone les paul juniors or squier affinity but fit and finish is generally better for the same price. But like I said if the Chinese one feels good then there's no reason to avoid it.
