Looking to buy my first guitar. Pretty new to guitar (just been using my brothers jazzmaster and a strat HSS that I rented). Budget all in for under 1000 CAD (including amp. I want a sunburst strat, looking at used or new. Amp I have no clue, I used a fender champ 20 (I think) with rental, which was nice. My rental had HSS pickup config and I liked that so I think HSS would be good. Classic vibes by squier look nice. Let me know what you guys think I'm still a noob so don't know a lot yet. (Like if HSS is even right for me). I'll mostly be playing classic rock, maybe some punk pop and also gospel/worship songs. I'm a Tom Petty fan.

then for amp try to get a modeler amp because those are versatile and better priced than other amps in that price range
common modeler amps include BOSS katana stuff / posgrid spark stuff / fender mustang stuff / line6 catalyst stuff / yamaha thr stuff
the good ones are like 350-400ish after tax
so 600 for the guitar (which should? be enough for a classicvibes strat)
