good 70s style electric guitar that my grandfather would recognize?

Something from the 70s, my price range would be like. Anything from $500usd to about $700- $800usd, idk what to get i just want something that my grandfather would recognize and so i can play pink floyd songs for him id assume a strat but idk

idk what the most popular guitar styles were in the 60s 70s etc ngl and i know alot of u would know what modern guitrs would be the best ones and stuff
