Im not too fussed about the superfine details of tone just want a decent distortion pedal so when I heard the behringer was cheap and gave me a tone I would be happy with I went to think it was worth it. People have said that behringers break easily but I’ve also heard this is somewhat of a myth and not That common so what do I believe and is it worth getting a pedal with a metal casing?

i mean theyre made of plastic but its all about the sound. behringer cant have the same exact circut as boss so theyre doomed to sound different, its whatever you have tho

Circuit wise most of the behringer clone pedals are virtually the same as their counterparts from boss, ibanez etc. Part of that is that behringer even produces electronics used in other (much more expensive) pedals.
If youre a bedroom guitarist, the behringer pedals are an absolute bargain, but their biggest drawback is their plastic housing. Ime its not like you cant gig with them, but if you do on a weekly basis, you might look into upgrading the housing or getting another pedal, but ymmv
