ive wanted to start a band for my whole life and i thought, as a bassist, itd be easy to find a band that needed a bassist but no apparently everyone i know who plays an instument also plays bass and so im learning guitar but how on earth am i supposed to find a drummer

Are you at college/university? If so, join a music society or look at where the music degrees are held and put a poster up.
Even if you're not in Education, put posters on some lamposts in your neighbourhood providing it's permitted.
