My audio interface ( Focusrite Solo ) has two line outputs with an impedance of 430 Ohm (more info in the first pic) , and I would like to connect it to a cabinet, say the 1960b (info in the second pic) would my interface blow up? Do I need to amplify the signal output from the audio interface?
#Can you connect an Audio Interface to Cabinet(s) ?

You’d need to run your line output to a power amplifier with enough juice to power a cabinet like that
you need an amp, an interface doesnt have enough power
Can I makeshift electronics a powerful enough Power Amplifier?
What?
I might even be able to check it with an osciloscope
if you have a guitar amp then you can use a re-amping device, e.g. by Palmer, to connect your audio interface to a guitar amp
Or if your amp lets you bypass the preamp you can do it that way
I don't have an amp, sadly
re-amping device is like an inverse D.I. box
You’re gonna need an amp to use a speaker cabinet
reverb.com
Electro-Harmonix 44 Magnum has all the power and of a 44-watt amp head, at a fraction of the price and size. Shop new & used Electro-Harmonix 44 Magnum power amps on Reverb.com.
And output impedance is different to input impedance
this device adjusts the impedance
Pretty sure you need at least 75W for a 1960 cab
I think it's rated at 300W
It might blow my house's roof off tho
But the power has to come from somewhere right?
from the amp
Audio electronics are confusing sorry
You need a power amp to drive passive speakers like cabinets
Your audio interface has a preamp which amplifies to line level which is headphone level power
Power amps need a signal at line level to amplify the signal enough for passive speakers to work
but with correct impedance
ya but also from the interface to the preamp/amp, using the device from Palmer which I linked above
Make them play normie music?
So, a 300W cabinet with that would work?
Generally not so much an issue afaik
I don’t know where you got 300W from or what speaker cab
But 1960 cabs require 75W a 16 ohms from memory
the speaker cab he linked in the beginning of his question has 300W, see first or second image
I think speaker needs 75W
Each speaker yes
So overall it's 300W
300W is the maximum
Should I run two 150W lines then?
It’ll have a mono input
I don’t know how loud you wanna go but I wouldn’t go higher than 100W really
I have no neighbors anyway
I attenuate the fuck out of my Marshall
That’s all well and good but that kind of power is unnecessary in the home
If you play gigs or regularly have it in a studio that’s different
I’m speaking as someone with a 100W Marshall in my house
Given you’re new to this stuff I think you should start small
Get something around 50W
Cabinet or combo amp?
Wdym?
Standalone cabinet or the sort of amp that has an amplifier and a speaker all in the same box
Are you asking me what I have?
What should I get that's 50 W
If you want to use a cabinet then get a head
I want to use my audio interface with my software really
but for jamming and practice I could use an amp so I just plug and play
Heads are expensive too
True
My dad blows cash on speakers way often
lol
I think audio interfaces are quite affordable for what they bring
so, if I can connect the interface to the cabinet Its a win win
also, way less work than connecting 10 pedals and cables
Sorry to say but there’s more expensive equipment involved lol
couldnt u mic the amp and then go into the interface with the mic?
They don’t have a suitable amplifier
Definitely wont blow up, just produces less sound
