On the Sky Sports broadcast, what do the changing colors on speedometers mean? I am referring to on-screen graphics, not something a driver could see. Green, white, and red. It's not acceleration. Will grab a photo when I can.

@sweet cypress No, sir. km/h and mph.

Usually green means theyre going faster than normal, white is normal, yellow is a bit slower, and red is usually a lot slower

#

but i gotta see what youre yalking about because they mean different things in different contexts

I think their color changes when the car reaches 200km/h

It's purely a stylistic choice on the broadcast's part to play up the feeling of extreme speed to these cars. They try to play this aspect up where they can since the cars can look quite slow if all you're used to seeing is F1 car pace. Other than that I don't think there's that much more to the colour change

their gui speedo turns red once they’re past a certain speed, and green indicates open drs

yeah, red means F A S T

kinda stupid honestly, especially if you are shortsighted, and red lettering (numbering i guess) is just harder to read
