#Seeking Help on an emotionally driven story about a Deaf chef

Here are a few logline ideas:
-
When a Deaf culinary student is dismissed as incapable by his instructors, a determined young chef must prove his talent in the kitchen before his dream of becoming a professional chef slips away.
-
When doubts about his abilities threaten to overwhelm him, a resilient Deaf aspiring chef must navigate the barriers of a hearing-dominated kitchen before his lifelong dream crumbles.
-
After landing a trial shift at a prestigious restaurant, a passionate Deaf cook must overcome communication barriers and prejudice before the night’s service ends — or risk losing his only chance at his dream.

This is a really cool concept for a short. If you're producing this, you could do a lot of interesting things with sounds.
I was thinking of doing Dan Harmon's Story Structure
Dan Harmon’s Story Circle
You (Setup) – We meet the Deaf protagonist, passionate about cooking but unrecognized. He gets a trial shift at a prestigious restaurant.
Need – He wants to prove himself, show he belongs.
Go – He enters the high-pressure kitchen, facing communication barriers and skeptical staff.
Search – He struggles to keep up: orders shouted, prejudice from chefs, tools flying, chaos.
Find – He discovers a creative workaround — maybe visual cues, prep hacks, or another worker who supports him.
Take – The hardest challenge: a make-or-break dish (e.g., a signature plate for the head chef). Stakes peak.
Return – He presents the dish, silence hangs — judgment time.
Change – Either he earns respect (triumph) or he reclaims self-worth regardless of outcome (bittersweet but powerful).
I have not. I just looked it up. I should watch it
Definitely! it takes place in a restaurant and might give you some inspiration
