Logline: After an arsonist sets off a gunpowder explosion that wipes half of Delft, a disgraced detective must redeem himself to find stolen masterworks of Rembrandt's greatest pupil before another attack takes place.
Based on "The Delft Thunderclap" event of 1654 that destroyed Delft and killed Carel Fabritius (who painted "The Goldfinch"). A lot of unknowns here! Historians do not know exactly what/who caused the gunpowder explosion (though there are theories).
I know it's way too long. Need to trim fat. I hate "disgraced detective" because it's too darn tropey. Don't know how else to describe Carel Fabritius (he was a real guy, but everyone knows who Rembrandt is) besides "master painter" - don't want to miss out on a hook.
I kinda hate it lol.
