I get the following error when attempting to run ~/Steam/steamapps/common/Starbound/linux/starbound_server

I had no mods running but the server lost internet connection overnight. no one has outside access to the server. server log attached, I'm logging in through a lan connection (all wired).

is there any way to recover this? or at least remove .lock and regenerate it by logging in? this will be a painful one to lose

server specs are:
OS: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS x86_64
Kernel: 5.15.0-131-generic
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (12) @ 3.200GHz
Memory: 16gb

looks like your universe.dat is corrupted or something

#

not really a huge problem universe.dat only stores the time & universe flags (outpost progress mostly)

magic coral
#

ooh okay, is there anything I can do?

meager snow
#

uhh. delete universe.dat? or maybe send it & we'll see if it can be fixed

magic coral
meager snow

looks unfixable. but just try starting the server again its probably fine

magic coral
#

no it won't start

magic coral
#

guess i gotta cop the L?

#

okay wait

#

if I start the game in just single player my stuff is there

#

can I restore that local file to my server stuff?

meager snow
#

what stuff. like your ship & inventory?

magic coral
#

yeah it at least has that?

meager snow
#

yeah those arent saved on the server at all

magic coral
#

i'm sorry i'm just a little confused on what I've lost and retained then

meager snow
#

mostly just planets

#

the planet data is probably fine too if you have any that you care about

magic coral
#

seems like thats not the case

magic coral
#

okay whew yes I was able to restore

#

it'll be a hassle to find all of thse worlds and bases but I at least now know how to deal with this faster in the future
