Theoretically yes but in all likelihood you will lose your portal to return because it puts you in a different instance of the harbor than where your portal is
They fixed that but rolled it back because it broke other things and haven't patched it again yet

Yeah, it's also possible to jump back and forth between the harbor and another zone to hope to find your original instance
But it's not guaranteed that you'll succeed, so it's safer not to leave at all imo
yeah, available mechanics are annoying enough, no point in adding to that by my own accord
I just learned it the hard way, lost my Harbor instance when portaling back to stash loot between wings. My 3rd GH lost in a row, the first two I wasn't able to open the final room 🙂 oh well, 4th time is a charm I guess

@north crow in your 70s and just getting into reds means u buy maps to run and focus on atlas progression. U have barely done any maps at all. I am 91 and just getting into reds. Found around 15 blueprints
level 91 sitting at 99 bonus objectives, about 20 blueprints
70s in red is certainly a lot of map buying
or dying 5 times per map who knows :p
a bit more than 1 in 10 but gotta consider drops from delve and temple as well, so 1 in 10 could be accurate

I think only templar maps have safes in regular contracts
in grand heists I've seen safes in templar and library
or laboratory, any of the mage/necro guys
yeah, for normal heists safes are in bunker and records office (and maybe mansion? I forget what enemies are there cause I've only run it, like, twice)
@livid pecan belated but no, there's no vendor recipes for contracts. You can still get some good rewards from low level ones if you want to run them, or you can skip them or discard them. Main thing is that if it's below lvl 68, it won't have Breach, Legion, Delirium, or Harbinger chests.

@livid pecan you can farm chaos orb vendor recipe pretty efficiently at low heist levels between 60 - 74. I'm level 84 and i'm still running 67-74 heists. it's a gauranteed 2 chaos orb per run and anything extra is a bonus
managed to get all the cluster jewels i needed. now all i need to do is save up a few exalts fora 6 link xD
Yeah, I've gotten contracts from delve, and if it drops contracts, it can (rarely) drop blueprints
from the lootsplosion, not from any specific nodes
Isla's Designs quest is bugged and cannot be completed, right?
Second time it has happened to me. I get out with the Baffling Blueprints and there is no way to complete the quest, even though it tells me to talk to Isla.
I don't think I've gotten that one, so idk

alot of things are buggy atm. I'm kidna of holding off doing grand heists because I keep getting stuck on the final door. Can't open it. so I'm just leveling my rogues using contracts.
I'm also on ps4 and the constant crashes got me trying to find the right rogue harbour instance to get back into my grand heist. lol

yeah. i might have to grind low tier maps. umm. with the +1 affix on the rogue gear. is it supposed to be invisible bonus? I have it equipped but Gianna is still level 1 in all skills
the +1 level increases their combat level, not their job level; there's another mod for +level to a specific job, and another for +level to all jobs, but they require ilvl 82+
so if you take gianna into a level 70 contract, and she has +1lvl on gear, she'll be lvl 71

huh, interesting. The agility lasers, they don't do that much damage if you go fast. You can probably step on the pressure plate faster than tullina.
Yeah those and certain traps I sometimes just blitz through. The glowing floor traps that only activate on the escape side do basically no damage

the enchanted armour rewards are surprisingly good, chest armour is really biased towards high life and multiple resists.
it's a bunch of T3 mods, but it's all the right T3 mods.
Question: is it worth it to alch heists? Or just run them white? Does alching affect the items dropped from chests?
i found no reason to alch them
a lot of the mods come with reduced alert level which means you can loot more chests
but they also make it harder, so it depends how much your character can handle
I realised that the per 25% alert mods don't apply to getaway
yeah definitely alch, decent mods can more than double the amount of chests you can open
so I think those are safe
Depending on how you have your rogues set up too
just avoid the one that increases alert every 10 seconds

Yes you can go through the portal between wings to stash loot
but its bugged atm so you often get put in a different rogue harbour instance

@fathom ridge you're very likely to lose your grand heist if you try it, but it's possible
if the portal is missing you can try to go in and out of the harbour to load into the specific instance of the harbour with your original portal
there is a way
second acount, make char, go in party, use him as anchor to the instance, still chance of getting full instance, but it's worth a try

The thing is that proj speed is already a good way to diminish the falloff... so with 40% proj speed, hitting an enemy at Alt FP's maximum range would have been close to 64% anyway

yeah every once in a while an enemy drop will not be contraband
usually when I notice its silver coins myself

incubators and prophecies arent tagged as contraband
you know, on high level contracts, I think I am just going to run to the end, and open chests moving back to the entrance and just leave without the target item. Doing the math, markers cost about 1c per contract run. I feel like I will make more in the long run not losing some of the stuff I do to awkward mods and such on the contract and will save on not having to re-roll contracts as much.
the only downside is it will cost about 30-40c per contract in markers
then again, if I run tullina missions, I can get sellable token generators in reward chests
so she should sustain herself

length of the contracts will be standardized and thus smaller and thus fewer chests (I assume), so you are still probably opening every chest
Dropped Talismans in level 68+ areas now drop with higher-tier modifiers on average and with a random Anointed Notable.

really not enjoying current league mechanics, 99% of the difficulty is in the escape, for some reason level 60 heists are more difficult than tier 6 maps, it's never fun to lose stuff you've already picked up, and the fact that there's key quests is really annoying since you cannot put them in storage

(Tried heist yesterday took me 5 min till go to final chest then was fighting 20 minuted to get out, those mobs just go in forever and give 0 exp, so I got impatient and just tried to run off, then I of course died while runing. Half hour of nonsense and 0 reward(was like 1c loot so anyways :D)) its just waste of time for casuals

Heist is to slow, unrewarding, and rippy. Most of all it gets boring pretty fast
It's great conceptually but the execution is lackluster
They made 'kill shit get stuff', a core part of the arpg gameplay loop, into 'avoid killing shit it's pointless, wait three hours for doors'

Assuming you're running both sword and shield.
Which is rare, the combo is usually axe and shield.
Because swords ppl go crit and going crit with shield is difficult.
im fine with settling for t2 reduced since rolling reduced and chance not to generate on the same cloak are expensive since they are both suffixes and you cant alt spam them
so how do you choose what chests to open since opening 2 BIG ones fills almost half of the alert bar?

there is zero point of buying other rooms because you cant even open half of them..

if opening one big chest fills almost half your alert bar your gear is not optimized at all and you arent rolling your contracts for reduction
also: if you plan appropriately and go zoom zoom you can open a handful of chests after the lockdown count starts

You can put a blueprint in and check the reveals you have available without actually spending anything
I'm not aware of a way to check your reveals if you don't have a blueprint handy, though
job XP scales with contract ilvl, so you want higher ilvl contracts for more xp

not hard but these guys are like 10x hp compared to like normal maps
the patch scheduled for early next week should help some by making the higher level contracts smaller
just also keep in mind that higher ilvl contracts tend to have higher job requirements, so you may need to use lower ones to get the first one or two job levels

If you can safely manage it, yeah, but it can be quite tricky
and you'll want to avoid some specific mods (reflect, lockdown is instant, maybe crit multi)

bringing Huck is a valid option for grand heists if you need the combat boost

block has nothing to do with damage done, but still. Also could be some of the rare or magic modifiers.
I do note that sometimes the AI does bug up and such and enemies sometimes don't seem to be in a damageable state if you don't get close enough to trigger them. (especially those who get in formation behind doors)

After a certain point they become insanely long. I have just kind of been ignoring Heist honestly. It's time consuming, frustrating, and I think overall it just breaks up the gameplay loops pacing way too much.
Heist is just poorly designed.
The core decisions they've had to walk back (and some that still need to be deleted) show it was never really thought about properly
Probably started and ended with the phrase 'wouldn't it be cool if' and completely forgot to take into account that an ARPG might not be the best genre to try and do stealth segments in.
That 6 second door animations that you're expected to repeat hundreds of times might get real old real fast.
Dropping loot on death is a novel concept but it's also not a good pick for a game thay crashes if you glance at it properly. And even THAT isn't very well done because you can just exit the alert area and run straight back in to 'save' the loot. Do a bit of annoying busywork and the only thing you're risking losing is the end reward.
As far as I'm concerned, regular Heists should probably start with you being teleported into a locked room with ~7 chests, of which you can only open a couple. Then, you have to fight your way out with one or two bonus doors on the side. That's more or less going to be what we get, except with backtracking.

@valid mist that's my biggest complaint. Like you can tell they thought of an idea and went all the way through implementing it without ever questioning if it fit the game.
In an ARPG like PoE, there is no way to do a stealth minigame. And the complaints people have had for years still exist in Heist.
Why are there stupid animations to slow you down? Why are there dumb on death damage effects for enemies? Why does it seem to exist in its own little world with little interlocking elements with the base game? Why are there pointless RNG elements to it that just should not exist?
A group of dedicated players would have pointed all these things out within hours of testing it. But it's clear GGG never bothered to play test it externally.
The RNG isn't the problem, I think everyone has mostly come to terms with GGG's fractal RNG by now - even if they hate it.
The problem is that Heist is a stealth minigame in an aRPG. It should be more like robbing a bank than burglarizing a mansion.

My issue is still that it breaks up the core gameplay loop too much. The game is predicated on kill stuff, get loot. Having these arbitrary restrictions in the game and convoluted means of achieving that is just not fun. They fixed a lot of the major issues, but in doing so they basically broke the entire theme of the league. Even disregarding that, the idea as it applies to the type of game PoE is was fundamentally flawed. It's basically just a separate and more annoying version of maps right now.
The other leagues that I considered fun to play had less barriers to them, even though they had different serious flaws. Something like Legion fits well within the core design of the game. Even Harvest did in its own right. But Heist just feels like it's stapled to the game in an unnatural way, and even now 2 weeks in I just don't find it interesting. When I do them I just go through opening chests and then book it out as fast as I can. Were it not for the Heists often giving a ton of currency and certain other items, I can think of few reasons to actually do them after a certain point.
Harvest feels like youre playing a completely different game
you go to rogue harbor, spend hours without interacting with any of the games usual content

If you are good at eyeing your alarm, you can avoid backtracking. Although not everyone can do it easily.

I'm not sure I will ever hate a league as much as I hate Blight though...

I generally try to kill the uniques I see on the way out, and often the rares, but I don't stay and farm multiple waves or anything
