well, its more, you want layered defense to deal with chaos damage (unless you are wearing something to prevent bypass)
137 life is a good chunk of life and Ill replace it later with an explode chest
and you have low chaos res atm
so 2k life with low chaos res will get you deleted in about 1/4th of the higher level heists
if you have something for does not bypass you will probably be okay
is it realistic to cap chaos resistance? not a lot of things give that
oh, it would be okay in most of the other game content
but there is a ton of chaos damage in heist

i got replica armour that was 4L and corrupted..
he said they tested it and 1/10 maps was too frequent

Grim goes over the basics pretty well here
i only open big chests if they are unique or currency
i open all the small chests otherwise
i was hoping delerium chests would give orbs but so far they just have given random cluster jewels
and diviniation card chests have been pretty bland
honestly, big chests tend to be pretty meh
FYI: Don't use movement skills to try and zoom into vault when it's getting opened. It's possible to get stuck.
(that said, if you have the guy who can open a chest during alarm phase, you can use them to open a big chest)
or if they are close enough to the final room to be able to run there after triggering the alarm

though if you trigger alarm then open the final room, the difficulty in escaping goes waaaaaay up
the number of mobs that show up is bonkers at that point lol

honestly, the best thing i had though was a grand heist with -30% alert for opening chests and -20% alert general
and i could open every chest there was
only ended up with like 70% alert guage after opening everything

Yeah i barely run heists at all and i have 3 exalted shards and god knows how much other currency just off of the currency chests
they seem very good
oh yeah, exalted shards are really common in the higher difficulty heists large currency chests
they almost always give 1, but pretty frequently 2-4

Re giving up quest objectives: if you have already maxed your companion's skill, you only get 0.5-1 chaos of rogue's coins for completing the mission.
yeah, the level 68+ are a different beast altogether over the level 67s

yeah, the skills cap at 2/3/4/5 depending on the rogue
the fewer the skills they have, the higher they cap at
and every skill you level up also raises the potency of their passive ability (except one guy who has a static trait)
And the green 'quest' contracts raise their max skill
(though I think there's a small fixed number of those.)

Anyone playing a summoner/minionmancer have any opinions on them in heist? I don't want to make a similar mistake I've made previous leagues choosing a build that struggles with the league mechanic.

you cannot stealth at all with minions
so if you plan to get many chests dont go minion
you can hardly stealth anyway
most the time there are guards at doorways
and those always aggro you

The one map has a ton of inactive monsters, which only activate if you attack one. Minions would be noticibly bad on that map.
it is fine to do a summoner, honestly
@teal axle you will get less loot early than most builds but once you level up your allies and equip them you will be fine

I'm using neversink, default. They have small text, but highlighted and drop a minimap icon.
I always have minimap up, so they're not at all hard for me to find.

yeah, you get a lot of stuff farming right at the room before escaping
and it makes it easy to run away and leave if it gets a bit too hot
that said, you need some extreme damage to farm level 68+ lol
im at least at 100k dps, probably higher though with impale and all those shenanigans
and the level 67 its easily to trash everything, the level 68+ suddenly they are so tanky i dont even do anywhere near enough damage

Since it seems to be a common issue and I think most people are just getting into endgame starting to run them now

So you can basically Just kill everything and loot everything and dont have to worry
And If you have Kaarst and Tullina chests get -50% alert as Well on top. Since i am Not fully geared yet i cannot say how it stacks, but it pretty much means No alert whatsoever

What determines the skill xp a rogue gains? Level of the contract/blueprint? Number of doors they open?
I've been hoping it's partly based on number of tasks they perform. There are often a bunch you can do on the way out, even if they go nowhere.
I was hoping there was a way to boost it, I keep running into situations where the only contract I have requires level 2 in something, and I don't have anyone at that level yet.

@signal kraken I have dozens of basic contracts just from grinding out awakener levels. I'd say just go map, work on standard atlas progression and before long you'll have a solid supply of heist related things. Otherwise, go buy them from other people like any other trade

Only the primary skill can go to 5, secondary skills are locked to 3 or below. Some rogues such as huck only get to 3 in all skills cause he has 4 skills.

Also is it normal that when you try to do a "green cotract" and forgot to pick the item needed for the job, it still lets you do the heist? Feels like a bug, or like someone forgot to implement something.

the worst part about it is just not knowing WHAT is killing me. like, the rare few hits that any single one of the rares in heists manage to land on me do maybe 500 damage or so
am I to believe that of the pack of 20 mobs, somehow all of them are managing to hit through max block and do more than 10k total damage in one go?
That can happen but is unlikely. It's more probable that any combination of:
- Getting shocked
- Getting cursed
- Nullifier
- Physical Crit
Got through and nuked you (assuming you play CI).
Even if all of those were true at the same time, it would still need to be more than half of them hitting through maxblocks to manage that
although, I suppose I could mitigate one of those further by swapping out my reckless defenses for replicas

If that's the case then with Reckless Defense it's easy to get snapped. From those 20 mobs on average 5 will hit you.

Nope, but I have a 20% chance for ES recharge to start on block, with 3.8k ES recharge per second
and of course, damage doesn't stop ES recharge
Then it's most likely Physical Crits that are RNGezing you. Do you run Basalt?
yes, and Arctic Armor for another 13% phys reduction
my build is tanky as hell and has facetanked pretty much everything else in the game in previous leagues (admittedly with about 1k more ES in most cases, though)
and yet Heist is instagib city
Next best bet then is to get ES on Block. Recovery is good but if 20+ attacks land at the same time and some RNG through it will not keep up because it will be instant. Recovery though will happen in-between the blocked and non-blocked hits.

Perhaps. I play RF and so far the only thing that really insta gibbed me was the mines. Ran into like 20 of those fuckers and didn't expect the on-death effect.

So Phantasmal Dual Strike has "Deals 10% more added damage" that means that any sources of added damage are 10% greater for each hit right? So on a build that's focused on added damage it should be really strong?

you unlock them by running heists above a certain level threshold (not super high for any of them) with specific other rogues
they'll show eventually I guess, but I kinda want them all to be unlocked soon so I can vary the jobs

If you're doing a grand heist, and you do one wing and go back to the safe area, you can't hit the portal and go back to town right? You'll lose the portal back to the other 2 wings right?
If so, how do you juggle the loot from the first wing or two?

i think ive succeeded on exactly one escape on L68+ heists
died on every other attempt
at some point you have to just... rush through 800 mobs and hope you dont get stuck

They are pretty tough especially with the rares piling together like crazy. Your success rate is a tab bit too low for that though.

probably random drops, though I don't know for sure. I bet it works like map drops.
It is a little annoying that running quest contracts is a net loss of marks (because you don't get an item to fence)

Yes, yes, yes. I've been running far too many contracts where I just zerg rush the artifact as a summoner.
This lets me plan a route so I can trigger alert and still have 20+ seconds to run to the artifact before lockdown.
I been just walking around with RF turned off and tanking everything. But it feels so wrong to just kite.
And people like Niles are too trigger happy :/ Have to do battle.
Which to make that somewhat topical to heist mechanics... you can squeeze out more Heist time if you take care of doors and mobs then just bum rush as many chests as you can before lockdown, near the end.

As far as I can tell, there's no difference between picking up the artifact with 1 second left before lockdown and picking it up with space left on the alert bar. So use it up!
on one hand, its a nice QOL for sure....on the other hand, it reduces the value of heist member trinkets by a good bit

There's specific mods on contracts to lower alert when killing guards and stuff too, i was already getting all the chests as is, now it'll just be trivial
it also removes a lot of skill expression

I dunno if like namelock skills can do that but aoe stuff doesn't hit them
I've done that with my Ranger. Shot at guards who were still in their idle guarding postion and killed them.

And they're pretty much mandatory
So you have to choose between paying up markers or losing inventory space

im guessing everyone should avoid Demolitions requirements like the plague if that's the case

i also noticed the enemies on the other side of the door thought they had been engaged
since they were moving around rather than waiting in formation

server says door is gone, game says no
They start doing their Thing once you attempt to Open the door
game attempts to send a "get rid of this door message" and the server says "you're on drugs, it's already gone!"
see i thought starting to get rid of a door would put the enemies into an "Alert" state
and that would cause them to get in formation to shotgun your face
and once the door is gone is when they start moving about
so thats a heist gone

and i lost a 5link 6 socket unique drop
all because you can't balance the league properly before you release it
i lost so much loot to some bullshit one shot that should have NEVER happened to begin with
they aren't even magic or higher
i just want to be able to enjoy this league but how am i suppose to when i get one shot by something that should not one shot me?

if i had 3 times the health which would be insane at level 54 and 75% resistance, all it takes is a group of like 6 to hit me at once which btw is not impossible for me to get one shot
then there is the factor of healing

otherwise you lose the entrance portal
reinforcements are the mobs that join after lockdown

pretty sure it's the amount of mobs that will spawn during escape
or affixes that buff them specifically
like there can be more or less mobs that will post up for ambushes at doors
"guards" are the mobs that don't move, "patrols" are the naturally moving mobs, "reinforcements" are mobs that only join after alert goes off

I didn't engage with the league mechanic until maps, and now I find that all the level appropriate ones need hirlings with various levels of training. Is there any guide to what lower level heists to run to train up the NPCs in an efficient manner?
@ruby dew resist capped, 4.1k life, level 87. Idk why I'm having such a hard time with heists lol
now I'm worried I won't be making be able to heist at that level 
I feel like the scaling is off in heists level wise. Blue packs from gray heists take 2-4 times as long to kill for me when compared to blue packs from alched/vaal'd tier 10-12s
I'm playing TR trickster, so potentially heists mobs have more base chaos resist and thats why its slower? idk, just a thought
the scaling is off a bit, but the big stuff are a lot of the mods the heist enemies are given
also keep in mind so many rares with auras spawn
that those magic mobs are getting mega boosted
makes sense
half the times in the big heist fights for me, there is like 5 rares with 2 magic packs
that and the heist maps if you are alching them, provide a lot of damage reduction traits
the worst i have seen is +25% physical damage reduction and +20% attack speed/move speed
makes it super rippy lol

so they got magic packs with +move speed with a rare for haste, crit, and damage.
that said, the best trick i have found is run out all the way to the end

I think green missions aren't needed to lvl up your guys
They are. Initially none of your skills will go past 3.
