Is the fog not pausing for Legion encounters for anyone else? I've done it four times so far and it hasn't stopped at all. It doesn't stop during the "frozen" phase or the fight.
I think it pauses for the "breakout" phase only
I'm running Bane with Despair, a medium cluster jewel with Dark Discourse and tried a Witchfire Brew.
Due to Dark Discourse enemies cursed are hindered. If the Despair aura is active the aura hinders me too, while applying with Bane doesn't. Is this a intended behavior or could it be a bug?
Is the total amount of monsters in Simulacrum fixed or does it change based on clearspeed?

it doesn't pause during that phase either, I purposely waited for the fog to come near me to test it, and when I activated the encounter it kept going

When you invest that much into heralds for the sake of heralds the benefits need to be that good to be worth playing, it's just abusable with 50% aura effect per jewel

What tier? My friend and I run Delirium maps together so we have the party scaling, and he has about 2 million without me but I'm running curses and Auras that scale his skill so it's probably higher, and I have about 500k, we can clear somewhat decently even with the extra health on the mobs
I forget how much health gets scaled up but I'd say from that, 1.5 million dps might be comfortable for red maps?
i have about 12m non shaper dps and t16 full delirium is uncomfortable for me

its a shame loot drops in delirium influenced maps as the bar fills. Would make more sense and be more rewarding to have it all come at the end when you click the button to end it.

Any advice on how to zone back in to Simulacrum after dying? I've run 2 so far: died on wave 17 and wave 20. Could never get back in without just instantly dying.

AFter I've killed everything in a delerium-orb'd map how do I get it to drop the alst lot of loot? (siting at 4, 4) but I cannot find a way to make it drop it...?
@frigid holly the loot drops when you finish each reward all the way through - if it's really high on 4/4, then you need to kill a few monsters to bump it to the start of 5/5 to get a reward. If there aren't any monsters left, that's all the loot you'll get

the issue with delirium is not difficulty
it's performances
and the design is not great imo
making 90% of the danger on death effect is not exactly interesting

on death effects are the only way to interact with the player since maps always get oneshot to oblivion by the better builds
Sadly they balance the game around the better builds, leaving less and less room for the worse ones
well balancing with a plethora of possible builds like this game has is impossible
you either balance for the people that sink thousands of hours into the game and have very efficient builds or you balance around those that just dabble in making builds but dont want to invest the time to actually flesh them out
as long as those "OP" builds exist not all builds will be able to clear all content. otherwise the game would be boring after a very short time (see Diablo 3 and every Set being able to speedfarm till GR90 and with some knowledge able to clear GR150)
tbh I think making content easier overall wouldn't actually punish players with better builds
The thing about PoE is, damage is just one of the things you can spend money on
If you spent elsewhere and don't need to wear, say, a cherrubims because you already have enough damage, you could wear an explosion chest
So despite the content being easier overall, you can clear it much faster
it's more the design and performance than the difficulty that annoys me
I don't particularly enjoy backtracking to loot once the delirium is over , but if my build isn't either very tanky or fast enough to grab and run then looting stuff becomes too dangerous during delirium if i'm doing hard content

Yep, the issue is, they put timers everywhere so people with fast clearspeed still have a challenge to face, and don't trivialize everything, but then people with normal clearspeed just can't follow that
I mean, I played a stun based ground slam build with quite low dmg in incursion and it aldready wasn't fun because of the timer
Now I wouldn't even try because I wouldn't even be able to play
I mean I could play the core game, but no optionnal content at all
you need fail states though
And the faster people go, the more they introduce timed emchanics with a ton of monsters that pop at once and oneshot, which evnetually leads to 1 second lag/freeze-oneshot
So people try to go faster to keep up the pace, and the game slowly becomes more and more braindead
And in the end it's not even fun to play anymore
I mean it is mostly click-oneshot-click-oneshot-interact with league mechanic-freeze-get oneshot-repeat
I wish there was a game wich had a deep character building as PoE, but with actual gameplay tbh

@vast gazelle pretty sure you actually need to move to break vines vs. using movement skills
though I wouldn't be surprised if it did something like breaking one vine per cast
@lethal relic Jewels doesn't really matter, there's plenty of uniques for all of the (non-abyssal) jewel bases
I feel like I have better odds of getting a unique jewel from corrupting unique jewels like the ones from acts but idk if that would count for the challenge

galvanic arrow has several innate projectiles and each will hit the main target if you attach barrage support
so it works out to the optimal DPS link and average hit link by far, to the point its not worth using galv arrow if you cant use barrage support

@fallen terrace since i started t13-14 maps i just give up on delirium mobs. Idk why but with full eternity shroud set, these mobs resist my chaos dmg. Idk how it is possible and what to do to deal them more damage. Although their hits are crazy strong. And the second thing is PC. My PC has got like 6 or 7 years. For me it's very hard to play: delirium, legion, cassia, metamorph, bestiary and Jun bandits the same time. My screen just freezes and i cannot do anything in more than 3-5 sec.

IMO ideal design would be that you can choose to scale things (e.g. - with mechanics like multiple delerium orbs) anywhere between reasonably easy up to impossibly hard (for anyone ideally). Provided the range you can electively tune over covers whatever sweet-spot of difficult-but-not-imposible-for-you is then the game design has you covered

@fallen terrace my friends are playing zombies or something like that like 3-4 leagues in a row, and they can do full content even when they are downgraded and nerfed, and i as a caster need to have 3-4 or even more times more expensive EQ to do the same thing. Thats hilarious.

I have not yet unlocked access to the Simalcrum, but I'm getting close. Is it worth (partially since I doubt I can finish it) running Simulcrum once I have my 300 shards, or am I better off waiting and getting further after I've progressed my gearing more. For reference I am currently L90 (SSF) but still haven't managed to get a 6 link, and have obvious gearing improvements I'll be able to make once the RNG cooperates. I can fairly comfortably run low-tier red maps with one delerium orb if I pay attention. ??
@vapid heart so one of two things will happen. Either weave the arcane overrides the skill cost to 0 and archmage does nothing, or archmage sets it 6% base and weave the arcane does nothing

the only real change in profit from simulacrum is like getting slightly higher reward tier totals
you do actually slightly control spawn rate / total via kill speed / movement
mostly noticeable in the late waves where you may be killing noticeably slower
but I don't feel like it will impact a whole lot
So have you guys found that just running to the deepest part of the delirium as fast as possible yields more rewards or trying to clear as much of the map as possible while staying barely ahead of the fog?

@plain isle in PoB you can create your own, theoretically everything that's possible to make there should be possible ingame,
basically works similar to other items, you have a few basic types of what minor passives grant, then up to 4 affixes that determine additional minor passive mods, major passives, and jewel slots
First time I tried 100% delirius map. t17 Summit with sextants. gilded legion, breach and metamorph. Forgot to use Alva to open... But all in all, zero deaths, and some nice loot.
3 currency, 1 divination, 1 oil delirium orbs.

the cold conduction notable on medium clusters uses verbiage that is different from the typical "your cold damage can shock" or "your lightning damage can chill"
does that mean that it is using a fixed function for the conditional ailments or is it still using the hit calculation / threshold of the element that caused the trigger ailment
i.e. is it always using 15% for the triggered shock and 10% for the triggered chill
I believe it's the former but I will just double check in game

there's a timer of 30s on how long stuffs will keep spawning, so the faster you kill the more stuffs will spawn, the more reward you get

With just regular mapping getting to even level 5 of the first reward tier is somewhat uncommon
It depends on the map you're running as well as how juiced up your maps are: How many sextants and scarabs you're using, master missions, etc.
Only time ive gotten past 5 reward was in harbour bridge
Also 90% of reward type still worthless armor/weapon/jewelry wtf
So i used a delirium orb on a map and at the end it didnt pay out
still sitting at 5 on each reward tier

You get the rewards every time you reach a level, not at the end all

No, it was specifically stated in one of the patches that it was nerfed
they didnt want another 'Only run iceberg' leagues

if you do 2 delirium orbs on a alched map with sacrifice fragments rewards usually go to 6 or sometimes 7
the more orbs u use the more rewards you get (obviously)
also alva mission for every delirium orb map you run
if you can get the blight thing from the map device aswell
breach/Legion/strongbox scarabs are pretty good too
and of course the 3rd conqueror influence that spawns 40 extra packs of mobs
as well as increased pack size mods on map and additional packs on sextants
you can beef up rewards pretty far with that

That said: killing the map boss in fog is the ultimate reward for normal maps. youre not supposed to easily be able to do it. ony if you have enough dps for Clearing AND single target you can. This in turn hurts your Sirus Killspeed. Its all a balance of what content you want to do and chosing the right build to do it.

if you deal really low amounts of phys/chaos damage then the damage reduction mobs get might start preventing you from poisoning at all

you mentioned to me the other day that cold conduction should be using the 15% value for shock, but I'm more concerned that the shock is not being affected by shock effectiveness
As a result of that testing I did for you the other day I did find a bug in cold conduction calculation, which has already been fixed locally so I assume will be patched in next week. It's meant to be 15% and scale with shock effect, and the fix will sort that. It's currently just using stats in the wrong order. The shocked ground stuff I will double check — again it's meant to be 15% but I could easily believe it was overlooked when the switch from 20 to 15 was made. The area stuff I don't even know, that's a Mark1 question if ever I saw one

You can stack them further this way, so they use only one slot instead of two or more (depending on whether they stack)

Is it a known bug that delirium spawn blobs deal damage on some maps? Haven't figured out which map mod that does it but some maps I lose 1/4 of my hp every time I step on a spawn blob

like it's possible that they were meant to deal damage in the first place but have an incorrect radius by default

maybe originally they were meant to deal damage but decided against it in playtesting, but didn't change them in a way that prevented this interaction

Did some toxic sewers on my new char, got 9-12 4 maps in a row with just alching the map. I know it's kiddie numbers compared to juiced up maps but as long as you don't run into a big dead end it's real quick and easy with incredibly dense packs due to the tight areas ^
what are the recommended maps for good splinter farming? i saw one guide saw T16 Tower but I felt like I wasnt getting much (less than 15) despite usually getting almost to the boss and 5 stcks

more people are becoming top players
They need to realize that streamers have guilds/get donations to hear quickly. 25 exalt bottled faith purchases are child's play to them, so balancing around those buffs and items leaves low gear players in a rut.
there's no such thing as balance when there are builds that at the same level of investment can do 50 million damage and 1 million damage

A lot of the problems stem from their lack of theory crafting before a release.
Within two days of the notables being released publicly, half a dozen high tier players already knew the cluster jewels would break that skill.

I don't think putting like 99% of the danger in a league mechanic in untargetable invincible exploding post death shit is a good solution to deal with people having more and more dps
also it makes looting obnoxious , either you take a huge risk to grab your alch/chaos or 6S
or you backtrack later
that's just not fun
like pretty much every death I have lately is me trying to grab a chaos or a 6S because I don't want to backtrack the whole map later
@eager terrace I had a look at shocked ground magnitudes. the shocked ground map mod doesn't actually apply shock to monsters, only the player and allies. that said, it does cause stronger shocks than 15%, ranging from 20-60% with map tier. I had no idea about that, so that could probably be made more clear — will discuss with Mark1. I double-checked Ylfeban's Trickery and Vaal Lightning Trap (only ways player can create shocked ground off the top of my head), they're both correctly applying 15%. the non-15% magnitudes are specific to the map mod.
oh interesting, yeah I bet players assume shocked ground is the same magnitude across tiers

yeah, I'm using leap slam for movement, and it can lead to some hillariously long hang times
I do wish leap slam had invulnerability frames or got you out of melee/projectiles fully
then the hang time wouldn't be a penalty in the same way
frostblink is always an option, its instant and teleports you, so you can simply teleport away

You don’t really have to run delirium during Acts. You can do it once you get a good gear to survive the run
Maybe you can do it when you reach Blood Aqueduct in Act 9
Or whichever area level where exalts drop

don't do delirium unless it doesn't impact the speed you get through acts
e.g. you're playing hollow palm for leveling and oneshot everything
for everything great about this league, the Delirium mechanic is pretty rough while leveling especially for your first character of a league

Pure speculation question - how do you think they will maintain a reasonable drop rate of cluster jewels in post-Delerium leagues? If they make delerium (the mechanic) core in the same way as many previous league mechanics you'd only get to run them maybe an 8th as often, so it seems to me that they'd need to make the cluster jewels either high probability drops (perhaps from the mechanic reward itself?) like they did with Cassia oils (which are now guaranteed from successful Cassia encounters [or a blighted map]), or they'd have to add them onto other drop tables...
@ancient kraken Delerium metamorph is in-principal an infinite monster count vai the metamorph adds provided you don't kill the metamorph itself
imo delirium brings nothing to the table besides simul and even that isnt great, they should let the jewels just drop in the base game

Sin master casts a super strong assassins mark, baraninte cleric gives a 20extra damage as lightning and 10% to shock

the further away you're from the entrance the more splinters you get, mostly from killing the boss
reaching reward tier 6 i've pretty much killed everything but 40 mobs in the entire map
doesnt say much about distance to the start and boss kill y/n

Been wondering what to use for my third spectre (in an animate wepons build where I'm using the spectres for utility, so my first two were Stygian chieften (freny) and the other ape whose name I fogret for power charges. Up til now I just added a second Frenzy-dude as backup, but the arena master sound slike the way to go

I think it's a ring radiating away from the mirror. I would also like to know this, though. The fact that the mirror rotates suggests to me that it does have a direction

The way this interacts with split areas is a little inconsistent. I feel like the game generally tries to make the fog stay at a consistent level when you pass through transitions, but sometimes it doesn't work quite right. For example, I've seen some complaints about the fog abruptly ending in the middle of the Burial Chambers cave

When you step through the mirror a fog spreads out in a circle from that point to the ends of the map. After a few seconds the fog starts dissipating in another growing circle from there. If you want to stay in it, you need to move away from there.
It's not a path per se. But generally if you head toward the area's exit you will stay in the fog longer because the mirrors always spawn near the entrance to the area.
There are a few other things that can make it last longer, but if you're new to the game you don't need to worry about them for now.

It flows out in an expanding circle from the mirror point until it fills the map, then from that same point it also dissappears from in another circle. Some maps are better than others for it. zones that are long lines are best.

Is there a way to predict when a delirium spawns enemies that can potentially 1 shot? Ive gotten up to t7 and the explosions, even when stacked deal almost no damage. Have heard complaints about looting killing people though.

The white blobs turn into monsters you can kill; the red blobs turn into non-targetable things that run at you and blow up. I'm not sure anyone is certain about the other stuff

Quantity on maps is affected by chisels as well as by the mods on the map. Quantity on player is based on gear (mostly unique items) which grants increased item quantity. But that's all besides the point because none of that gives you additional splinters

it wont allow me too usually. it freezes me for a second or two whether i press flame dash once or a dozen times. ive also tried predictive and lockstep.

I tried one and it was going really slowly because my DPS wasn't high enough.

Whats with Kosis wave 20 btw, I did one simulacrum and killed him easy, then another wave 20 he one shot my tank build with every ability.

How do people even get so many damn Splinters in a single map
The most I've been able to get is 20-something from T14 Tropical Island or T15 Lair
I can't find a good T16 map that drops more Splinters than the other 2
So far tried Malformation, Promenade and Tower, none of them gained as many Splinters on average as T14 Tropical Island and T15 Lair.

Cause Daykun got around 50-60 per map without juicing his maps

I also do Beyond for Zana mod if I'm juicing
U can reliably get 40-50 splinters from alch and go ramparts with 0 mechanics
If u really want a lot of splinters then alva is pretty important as well
The best zana mod for splinters is cassia
For some reason I hate doing Blight
I skipped that League so idk if the monsters take less damage from non-towers

Trop is better if u are putting mechanics on it
Like alva, cassia, breach, legion
Rampart spawns all the mechanics at the beginning in shallow fog so u get less splinters
What u want is mechanics and mob density in deep fog

I initially planned to just farm T16 Summit with Legion and Breach.
Then again dunno the Splinter count of Summit
I havent tried malformation much, it seemed okay
I know empy used it for his big juice run
Summit layout isnt great for splinters
U want long maps
Not wide maps
The deeper u are in fog and more mobs u clear while deep in fog = more splinters
Summit is wide map with phased boss
Both things are shit

Betrayal, but Pariah farming is ruined
T16 Summit Breach+Legion
And Splinter farming which I for the life of me don't get

I barely have enough to fund my build
I just got done crafting a pair of 12 Ex boots
U can just pick a different map
With breach legion
Underground river and promenade are the go-to t16s
I prefer promenade with legion since it's a wider map
How to maximise splinter return
wat if they made it so the entire game was 100% delirious with all mods
lair is the best imo but I like malformation more. I clear malformation easier with my cyclone
I get 30-35 just using chisel and alch. with beyond easy to get 45+ but paying 5c for 10 more splinters(4~c) is not logic
chain running the simulacrum is pretty damn draining.
managed to run 38, and have 50 left over 😦 think I'll cut my profit here and sell the 50
lol yeah I bought like 50-60 and ran like 20 and sold the rest
not sure which is worse, farming simulacrum or farming burials
meh
the worst part about simulacrum is
no extra rewards for more people
and it stops just when it gets fun
runs out too fast on most maps

T14 Tropical Island, ChisAlcVaal'd with 4 Awakened Sextants. 2 Breach Encounters, 1 Legion Encounter, with Jun mission. Did a full-clear, stepped on most cocoons and killed the boss at the end.
I got like 21 Splinters

T15 Lair, same ChisAlcVaal 4 Awakened Sextants, Breach Scarab, Legion Scarab, Ambush Scarab. Sac Frag. Alva. Beyond Zana Mod.
2 Splinters.

Btw the map was Redeemer Influenced so it had extra mobs
All my Sextants spawned extra packs
And I got 2 fucking Splinters.
I'm just convinced the game hates me at this point
I think Splinter farming isn't my thing.
I wish I was lying about what happened.

if you want lots of splinters you need lots of unique mobs
the people getting over a hundred splinters per map are doing shit like proccing and reapplying multiple prophecies per map @sharp veldt

i think so
Last map I did I nust've killed 15-16 beyond bosses. Don't think I had a single splinter drop from em.
