its my favorite league design in a while but it needs more watering down
in terms of game design xd reddit only asks for simplifications
a few more cycles in the rock tumbler to polish the edges
I think the concept is fun
though I am super annoyed that the build I've been optimising just for running the content was rendered near-useless with the latest patch making the monsters completely unaffected by taunt
the biggest issue with the mode
Potentially getting sanctum floor rewards in just like 5m is pretty neat tbh
is that the enemies dont use the same rules
The AI is too smart
They do get stunned but most times if you approach them they switch targets as you go to hit and stuff it seems
I'll frostblink on someone channeling and they will just move to next closest totem
they get stunned if YOU hit them, but not often if your units hit them
they have faster respawn timers than your team and higher stats than your team
I rarely stun them to begin with
Very funny when enemy turtle in flank role also casts totem immunity even though it's only supposed to do that in defence role
or when you kill it it respawns instantly
It's being the other way for me, I'm running mines and mines don't stun them for shit
it feels bipolar though, that im winning, but i dont feel good that im winning
like it doesnt feel like im winning from skill
or because im doing damage or whatever
My impression is that units with energy shield benefit from the 50% stun avoidance. Everything else gets stunned consistently by me

Those guys especially are difficult to deal with and while I don't deal incredible damage, their ES is massive
Also can't really stay at a difficulty you're comfortable at, generally you get positive points unless you intentionally lose

if you die your escorts go back to your respawn, if you kill the enemy leader, their escorts keep fighting you

They are usually the last round rewards. there is small chance they can appear before that. But they only appear on the associated tribe. For example, +1 max cold can only be given as a reward when going against Arohongui (Ikiaho)
so if you are farming for a specific rare tatoo, make sure not to fight against them in the early rounds.

Do minions even work? The only thing preventing my progression is that their flankers will chain small channels in between hits. It's basically impossible to counter flankers 100%. My flankers are just in a base race the whole time. If I lose my flankers, I lose the match.

Also it is annoying that there is such a huge disparity in favors offered. Always gotta kill off kahuturoa first becuase turtles are bugged. Yet I can see how the whole tournament is going to go because he is only giving 500 hinekora favor whilie others are nearing 2k total favor.
I usually just go for whatever gives the most favour unless there is a decent reward offered
In the last round or 2 I'll try to pick based on who I want to fight at the end
Flanking turtels can't even be taunted anymore. There is no way other than destroying totem asap to counter flanking turtle. And defense turtle is bugged and can make his own totem immortal. So I 100% get him out first. I think by round 4 he is guaranteed to have a turtle.
I always thought they had units based on what favour they offered. But I didn't pay too much attention

They can buy other units like we do, but their own units makes up the majority of their team. That's also why Kahuturoa is commonly taken out first. Rongokurai has those goliaths that one shot you.
didn't they nerf the experience by half? I didn't really care much about it in the patch notes but I thought it was like 20% -> 10% ? Shouldn't it then be half of what it was before? It was 10% at high ends before, so probably 5%?

it would be 2.5 if the rate they cut in half had squared scaling.

You can still knock enemies back. You just can't vacuum/pin to wall
so my flankers can channel
Idk about cheesing mechanics but EA Ballista makes really easy work of both interrupting channels and distractions while your flankers do work
I dropped GMP onto my build and it hasn’t failed me yet
I'm shockwave totems and I have no issues with any of that. I have issues with their flankers chaining very small channels while they are being hit. EA balista would be worse for that.

I was just using abyssal cry on cooldown to group mobs, can't do that any more
It works but it's tiny and only 1 per second at most. Seems to be even less - you knockback 5 times quickly and then wait 5 seconds until it triggers again

nah. It's definitely random. It's just noticed more when you have a bad experience. I've gotten a divine with 2k+ favor in 3rd round before.

hits are % based? so faster attack = ez? i play dot so i guess im screwed
It seems to be weirdly capped, I think it depends on both attack rate and damage
So it kinda scales but feels like 100% delirium anyway
There is a shaman but there's also an item that regens totem life
also a thing that causes it to respawn when destroyed

Specifically the one where I destroy it and it goes back to full instead
so you have to kill it and then kill the totem or somehow stop your warriors from attacking it.

what the flankers are i found don't really matter much. defense matters most imo. Get Consuming kuneknue on defense so that when their flankers die they aren't immediately revived and it gives your flankers time
Field masters just don't get interrupted because the ai is stupid and kills the walls instead of stopping the cap

I've won a few matches where I get one shot at the start and they kill my totem before I res because 4 fieldmasters just backdoor their whole base

If they have no defenders thats happening, usually happens for me becouse i am not using defenders 🤣🤣🤣

goddamn came here to vent, this league just points to biggest problem of this game in 2023, we need to zoom out more, abilities of enemies look cool and match the "umph" of their hits, but there is no way to play around kahuturoa, spear dancers etc, im at currently 500 rank with my glasscannon because 4khp 80res 70k armor jugg got one shot all the time at 250 and STILL my rank went up because of few won matches

it's based on a spread sheet. 3 tiers of rewards: Common reward, rare tattoo reward, unique reward. red = bad, yellow = ok, green = better, blue = best
I honestly don't know why there are 4 colors tho. there were only 3 in the spreadsheet it is based on

im playing impending doom and im ONLY defending hitting everything and theyre just taking out my totems anyways while my flankers do nothing, completely messed up that enemies dont seem to get stunned at all when interrupted...
As long as you can avoid getting one shot it works
Until the enemy has titanic shells
Then you have to figure out a way to actually kill it
I still hate the one shot, if I'm constantly getting one shot, just let me watch the game and make the my minions stronger, sounds a better game play

This is quite useful, I just edited it to have the names of the warriors and tribes (I don't really associate their faces) and it's even better.
is taking this node worth in the long run? or does it ensure to hit more doryanis and locus if its in the 3s and not 4s

It's only good for adding mobs to a map. if you are doing incursion to build temples you don't want to take it
becaue in each map a room can only be chosen once. So you are reducing the odds of getting a desired room.

There is no warrior that taunts so don't think it matters?
actually its better to get your room too , because once you get your prefered room you stop interacting with alva , and as rooms only pop once per map you can eliminate 3 of them before taking the 4th having the highest chance to get your room
you dont go for 4 rooms every map when fishing for a room
you go up to 4
there is litteraly nothing forcing you to interact with the 4th so the notable cannot be a downgrade
I was thinking about leveling some skele giga summoner for trials but after the knockback nerf bricking most strats I think I'll wait a bit more

Is it just players that get stunned for 5 seconds when they're hit while banishing? Cause I swear i see enemy units just simply switch targets
Then, sometimes I clear an entire side of the arena, nothing's on my totems, and then all of a sudden there is a random enemy tidecaller attacking one, without one passing by me in that direction

It's starting to feel like whichever way I try and play it is wrong. They're all functionally immune to CC, there's no way to make yourself tanky enough to survive, my minions (of the same type) seem weak as hell compared to the enemy versions

Eliminate all the heroes on left side
Aim for totems and ignore killing
Surround yourself with flankers and escort units

I don't even try to dps anymore I just shot arrows everywhere to at least stop their channel for a bit
also yea they only get stunned for a fraction of a second
compared to 30 years when its me
at the moment, unless it's a kunekune or thunderbird, it's taking me like 10 seconds to kill them (if my totems focus them and don't decide to all attack the walls instead)

The 3.22.0b Hotfix 2 patch came out this afternoon. It took me less than an hour to go back to breaking Trials again.
While there's a cap of 5 knockbacks per 5 seconds in the Trials now, Interrupts (from Debeon's Dirge) aren't affected by this cap. With reverse knockback Cyclone no longer an option, the next best plan is to just get some AoE on...
uses debeon's dirge so that warcries knockback and interrupt. knockback is limited, but the interruption isn't

If they fix 1 thing, I hope it's that enemy warriors are properly interrupted from channeling when hit. I literally just watched them take a totem while having 4 shockwave totems spamming it.

you eliminate Kahuturoa first because turtle and the insane damage and area the boss has.
Not to mention the goliaths also 1 shotting with a random attack
Well after that one is gone, I just choose the others from the list based on favor and rewards. Prioritizing favor unless it is a huge reward like a divine.

I always do it no matter what. Save for divine level rewards
if you're starting with units from previous rounds, you can afford to scuff up one round, so that would probably be worth it

but if you want to go by the spread sheet eliminating hinekora or fighting utula would be the play. You are going to have to decide where you draw the line between now profits and the hopes of better future profits.

Any other way to contact ggg other than bug report, about their massively bugged league? enemy units just refuse to despawn and die after they were banished and im getting tired of it.

Storm Conduits and Goliaths are the only ones I know that can one shot
for some reason some of the generals (looking at you, kaom/utula/some other stuff) can also oneshot through defenses because their hits take up 75% of the screen sometimes

There are plenty of one-shotters in the tournament. The spear-lunging ladies are dangerous and any slammy boys are very rippy
Generally, I try to put strong guys on flanks, and casters like tidecallers or trawlers and spear-ladies on defense
Then I weather a couple of the first waves, so there is more time between their respawns
The opponent leader needs to be killed so they dont kill you
don't fight in your zone. Fight in middle. opponents attack and escort will not ignore you and go to your totems, only flankers will do that. so make sure you have the same amont of defenders as they have flankers. Then you just distract their attack/escort in the middle while your flankers take out their totems.
Occasionally go back and disrupt their flankers when needed.
And if possible fight and take out the teams you hate the most early so they can't flesh their team out. The big guy that goes "Die!" often becomes a problem
ive tried all defenders, all attackers, both defending/attacking
some flankers. nothing works. the momemt i die its a match loss, ill kill them 50 times, yet its not a win
i attack the totem? pfft i get stunned for 10 seconds and die

I did. watch streamers doing the mechanic for visual example.
If you are overpowering them where you are killing them quickly, your flankers should be able to take down totems. But if you fight inside their field, that means their attackers and escort are likely in their field as well and they can interrupt your flankers. If you are going to kill, you need to have really good dps where you are killing them all in a few seconds or aggro them out side of their base.
this new league mechanic sucks and i realized it only now getting to ranking 300 and i cant do anything more with mid gear - KB/PS build
i understood that i cant play the new league mechanic cz its waste of time and some of the bosses have even more hp than freaking shaper
never seen such a thing
and the bosses respawn in less then 5sec while i waited +-40seconds and i was like hol up whats going on
best solution if the league mechanic is too insufferable for you is to sell the coins, since they're around 1c each
then if they fix the balancing you can just start running em again
like when i was ranking 200 +- there was ton of good rewards 24/7
until i reached 280+- and i got offered 5jew orb/10orb fusings/crap ton of tattoos

I literally watched one of my boar flankers use its charge ability to get to a totem when its literally faster for it to walk there
Then it got stunned because it started channeling in front of an enemy
Then my thunderbird went right after it, did the same and died

one time I watch my unit chasing an enemy in a circle around a totem for like 30 seconds

im at rank 984... Killing a turtle takes me about 5 or so minutes if I dont get interrupted... Factor in that the turtle likes to INSTANTLY protect its own totem and like 5 to 8 more... (my record was every single totem besides a single one) and youre screwed... 99% units break and stay infront of units
It's weird that all my units die in one hit, but it takes someone with a DPS measured by shapers to take down one unit on the enemy team
