Here's my extremely hot take, I think the base class exiles should have more personality to them, and to facilitate that I think they should all get a personality-appropriate starting skill to represent their natural skills, as well as a personal quest during the campaign.

Like, Witch could get Lesser Raise Spectre by default, which raises a single spectre in the form of her dead sister or something. And her personal quest could involve collecting additional spirits from haunted locations or something.
