hello why am i unable to socket in any support gem on pain offering? I have the required stats and I'm not using it anywhere else
the build guide i'm following says to use it but i'm not sure why I can't use an uncut gem for it

Lich is fun but is there any other chaos build we can use? I find it slow on killing bosses
Obviously Rake is very strong for leveling at the moment, but I want to try some other leveling builds that can come even remotely close in speed. What would you guys rank as the top 5-10 leveling builds if you're absolutely blasting through?
Lightning spear was nice for my Ranger Gemling and Amazon
I probably should have been more specific. I'm mostly interested in act 1-3. I feel like Lightning Spear doesn't pick up till tier 2 support, which makes it a bit later.

Essence drain+Contagion is very good for leveling imo.
Contagion + persistence + magnified effect
Essence drain + Chain + swift affliction for trash mobs
Second essence drain + hourglass + zenith for bosses/rares
Despair + Decaying hex + inspiration for extra oomph and spreading despair via contagion
Dark effigy + envenom + concentrated effect for bonkers single target
I though about contagion but its alot of thinking i prefer the 1 button leveling builds so I went with Rake lol
What happens when i apply the vulnerability curse with the boss already armour broken? Does it actually do anything?
It shows up separately, not im not sure what effect

1000000% more critical hit chance, +100% to critical hit chance, etc.
I'm not at my pc, but there might be a dropdown on the left where you set your skill to select "perfect hit" or something. That might guarantee the crit if it's coded correctly
you can just do this if assuming always perfect timing
I know some skills have options to select different components (like poe1 lightning strike melee hit and projectile hit)
nvm yeah the dropdown just works
But yeah, a custom mod will do the trick, it'll just also give your other skills the buffed crit
if you set it to explosion at the dropdown it will be 100% crit

its not on the skill screen, it's to the left of the screen

It has two skills that are unique to it, so any build that uses those would fit the bill
when using giants blood, does skills use both 2-handed weapons for damage? considering if i should use a damage weapon for off-hand or one that gives + to skill levels but has shit damage
Every skill clarifies how it uses multiple weapons in its description, but most with either hit with both weapons, or alternate between them.
from my experience the most successful method is to use two similar dps weapons with high + skill levels to do damage
if i could use that at my level, i would, but weapons like that are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than similar weapons at lvl 60-70
which makes it so im forced to use whatever i find
so i am using this for my main hand
and currently using this for off-hand
both are bad
but thinking if its worth swapping it out for

i am not, but better weapons are like 10-20 exalts each at that level, meanwhile if i look at similar weapons at lvl 60-70 they are 1 exa each but i cant use those since i am not that level

If you're asking if spark and/or infernalist builds can do t14 maps, then the answer is a resounding yes. Same is true for blood mage
Question about ignites:
Do mods like "Gain %X damage as extra fire damage" work on effects like Radient Grief? (Enemies in your Presence are Ignited as though dealt 100 Base Fire Damage)
I know that things like +X% fire damage work, but I'm not sure about damage conversion like that.

What happens if you have avatar of fire and use blackflame ring? Will everything convert to fire damage and then the ring converts the ignite to chaos damage or they just do not work together?

is there any way to trigger the wind dancer buff stack retaliation without actually getting hit? im trying to do a weird off-meta reflect build and im having difficulties doing the first sekhema trial since it needs me to get hit to deal damage which defeats the point of the trial
just run honour resistance for sekhema

It shows separately when holding Alt, I think it is included in the regular number when you're not. Also, it does show that increases by 0.4 metres on the second one, down there.
thats a separate line that just shows that this is what you gain from quality, it doesnt alter the stat above

skillgems do this in PoE1, when you add quality to them the stats on it alters to include the extra stats gained
i.e. the explosion radius would show 2.0 instead of 1.6 with 20% quality
and i cannot view the skill without holding alt or pinning the window, so that has no effect on the stat not being visible
It only doesn't alter it because it behaves as if Alt is pressed when the other tab is opened and pinned, but it works the same way as PoE1 on skills where that stat is on the primary tab.

You need regular passives in order to apply them as weapon set passives. That 2 is just indicative of the number of weapon set passives for Set 1 that you have left to allocate, with 22 being the total number you could allocate.
Also, if you do Win+Shift+S, you can capture a portion of the screen instead of both screens.

If you use both weapon set 1 and 2, you get up to 24 points (from campaign, 24 more from Witchunter) that you can allocate separately between the two sets. If you are using purely one weapon and never use weapon swap, you might as well allocate all passives as just regular passives.

Storm caller arrow with a bow
There's a support that makes a leap skill create shocked ground on crit. That's why they linked a quecholli. You use leap slam with that shocked ground support and quecholli and it guarantees the crit to make shockes ground
im asking more about skill, maybe there some "lightning orb" of poe2 which i can put and it would shock people

lich has an ascendancy node called eternal life which means your hp can’t change while you have energy shield, atziri unique helm just becomes straight up damage reduction cause the damage that ‘goes through energy shield’ can’t affect your life

no because "This skill always Strikes with your bare fist, even if you have a Quarterstaff equipped."

The hit definitely doesn't scale with quarterstaff damage.

Quick question, does anybody know if firestorm snapshots its damage at cast time? I'm curious how it interacts with seething bodies 50% fire damage. Say I finish the cast of firestorm and afterwords drop another spell that pushes me beyond high infernal flame. Do I get the increased damage. And the other way around as well, if I finish the cast at high infernal flame and then drop below how does this impact firestorm damage?

I don't have a char that can test by equipping different quarterstaves.

I have a POB question, I have watched quite a few videos and still learning to use everything. In the videos people run full dps power report for passive, I left this thing open for quite a long time and nothing is ever populating, but combined dps works. But when I watch videos people are able to get full dps power reports. I am wondering what I am doing wrong.
I think there's a bug with Staggering Palm... If I have a Quarterstaff equipped, the projectiles always seem to use my quarterstaff attack damage, even if the projectile originates from something like Killing Palm, which doesn't use my quarterstaff. Is that actually a bug? Or does that seem to be expected?
(I would prefer the non-quarterstaff damage because the weapon is basically just a stat-stick)
does 'physical damage is pinning' effect your ability to afflict stun with physical damage? i feel like before i equipped the item that gives me this effect, my leap slam was guaranteed to stun at least a few in the group, but now it seems to pin instead? But I can't find any info saying that one counteracts the other
are you talking heavy stun or light stun

Reddit people seem to agree on the broken armour is consumed after the hit, so the increased phys is calculated into the hit that consumes it
It makes sense, i just wanted to be sure

Ash, thunder, and ice
Add pierce and find a way to 100% ricochet from walls.
The ricochet acts the same way chain does, so it will bounce from the wall back to an enemy.
You'd likely want proj speed and duration as well though, so the projectile lasts long enough to return.

I'm using 3 heralds
Herald of blood, ash and thunder.
But my heralds cost almost nothing.
TIL; darkness reservation from Acolyte of Chayula does NOT work like ES.
- It does not protect at all from damage over time, only hits.
- Every time darkness is reserved from a hit, that reservation has its own timer.
- Timers are NOT refreshed when more darkness is reserved.
So this effectively means that if you have 1000 darkness and are getting hit for 100 damage every second, you will never run out of darkness (with the 10s darkness reservation timer)
And it's even better when the reserve time is 5 seconds... And you can wear kaom's heart with it.

I made a mana-stacking MoM, EB, CI Darkness monk and was surprised at how good it felt. Especially as an early form of defense. Granted, I was in trade with a friend, but, still.
The longer the game has been out, the more I think people are realizing that Acolyte is pretty nice for certain builds
I took darkness as my first node in act 2 and it almost doubled my eHP

If I were to go the mana route, I'd probably take the 34% of damage taken from mana before life on the tree and just stack a medium amount of mana and ES. I'd probably skip darkness

The reason I went nuts in mana-stacking is because it was my first time trying to mess around with Darkness specifically. I was thinking, "I can use impending doom, and get a bunch of chaos damage from darkness by protecting it with MoM"

(I think you can target farm it with rogue exiles btw. One of them supposedly wears it.)

anybody know why the three dragons solid mask is useful?
It allows you to apply ailments with a different element than usual, so if you're using Lightning, you can Freeze with it. Depending on what you're using this for, this can enable a variety of effects like generating charges through Combat Frenzy.
Does Spell Damage get multiplied the same way as Fire/Elemental damage in Magnitude Of Ignite/Damaging Ailment?
Trying to understand why a certain build is pathing into Fire instead of Spell
The Magnitude of a Damaging Ailment is scaled by the Pre-mitigation Hit that inflicts the Ailment. If you're hitting with a Spell, it would scale the Magnitude in the same way regardless of Spell, Fire or Elemental Damage (assuming you're hitting with a Spell that does purely Fire damage, anyway)
It could be that it has higher values, or that they're aiming for some specific notable

There's 3 (of 5) GLL in the league that are running the leftwards variant of this build. I'm stumped why they're specing into Burning Nature instead of Potent Incantation or Ruin. I've seen other builds avoid burning Nature (in Softcore). I'm just confused about this because
It's right there once you're getting down to Melding/Pure Energy/Dampening Shield/Insightfulness. And Ruin is right there too

Part of why I'm so hung up on this, is that the Lich variant (which I've been playing until today) uses the other 2, and it works.
The cast speed and spell area is not a significant drawback in that build (especially because they are only for the second weapon set used for snapshot)
I can't say I'm entirely sure myself, I'm not particularly familiar with this build. Could be the Ignite Duration, since set 2 is taking all the Ignite-relevant nodes

This is a pretty open-ended question; Has anyone used contagion to proliferate a large poison hit? I was looking at the "Low Tolerance" node and was curious if it would continually increase the damage of the poison being spread...
Like, Poison an enemy, contagion, then when they die, the poison is spread to another enemy with its duration refreshed, and if it's the first poison on that enemy, it does 60% increased damage... Then it spreads again to another enemy without poison on them and gets another 60% increased damage... is that how that node works?
In theory, it would let you just scale aoe for contagion, since you don't really care about its damage.
You might even be able to just use ED as the poison hit if it continually increases in damage with each spread.
Am I crazy to think Low Tolerance behaves this way? Anyone have experience with that node and doing something similar?

I was in the sun temple and sitting at like 80% "hotness" from the sun and my darkness was full, yet I was taking some damage over time to my life/es. I moved a little closer to like 90% and my darkness immediately depleted to 0 and my life/es damage taken didn't go up that much

Could try at the cold act 1 witch, she spawns adds. Compare damage after 1x spread and with no spread. Bit tricky though as you alsi need to subtract the initial hit that applies the poison.
Yeah. And also the mechanism for spreading would be contagion, which has its own damage that increases after spreading.
Should be able to calculate for it though if the enemy lives after the 2nd spread.

I had some time during my lunch break to test, but I haven't been able to accurately test if it benefits multiple times or not. Something else that's interesting is that the contagion can spread to enemies already inflicted by contagion, and that already have a poison stack. So, even if your build is 1 big poison hit, you could stack that big poison hit in groups multiple times pretty well with contagion.
There's likely better ways to clear huge packs of mobs, but, it's still a pretty interesting way to enable some off-meta right-side poison shennanigans.
I have to remove the +1 to poison nodes to try and test whether or not the poison magnitude continuously affects the spread.
And escalating toxins, which might have affected my previous test actually :/
It's really hard to tell with all of the other factors. It also kind of depends on how poison works. If I hit someone with a massive poison hit and then hit with a smaller one, how does that work? Does it overwrite? Just refresh the poison duration? Are they both ticking under the hood but when the big one expires the small one continues to tick?
I'm thinking that the poison magnitude isn't applied multiple times, but, it would take someone more knowledgeable than me to chime in. My guess is that poison magnitude is only applied to hits. Spreading an existing debuff, like contagion is doing, wouldn't count as a hit.
I do know that each poison ticks under the hood but only the most damaging active one does damage. As that expires the next active most damaging poison deals damage. That's with max one poison.
Yeah my intuition would be that it spreads the size of the initial poison and contagion spread doest count for low tolerance.

I thought they all go by base crit hit chance of the spell but somehow its way more for me
example. Frost nova with 12% base with 66% crit goes to 100% with pinnpoint
That's because both are More Critical Hit Chance, so if you are at 66% base, getting 60% more will bring you to over 100%
So its added at the end ?
When I hit 50% and add ambush I have 100% ?
For reference, increased and decreased is additive with other modifiers of the same type, More and Less is multiplicative. So, a More modifier will happen after the increases/decreases, and multiply that value.

I've been looking for a single big hit to apply poison damage and noticed the upper bound of plague bearer is 15k in a single hit (At gem level 20). Are there single hits in the game that are bigger than this? (As far as base damage is concerned)
I'm not sure if plaguebearer allows you to further scale the physical hit that it does, but if it doesn't, then there are likely way better options
If you can scale that hit further, then I'd wager it's probably among the strongest options available for a base physical hit. Especially with +levels to it
I'm guessing it would scale off of phys %, area %, and crit multi if you're wearing something with malice?
I'm not 100% sure about malice though, but I don't think blood mage ascendency would give it 15% crit chance since it's not a "spell"

That really should be what I consider first. When in doubt I should ask, "would this cause the ability to double dip?" and just assume nothing will double dip the chip.

My educated guess is that recovery is better than recharge. Usually with verbiage like that, recovery is acting as a sort of multiplier to recharge.

I'm in act 1 cruel with a chaos dot acolyte build and it feels so freakin beefy. I went darkness + halved reservation time out of the gate and it's been a breeze
I also have the three recoup clusters in the northeast of the tree
When my life runs out but my darkness recharges, I can recoup life while my darkness takes hits for me. It's quite nice
I'm going to do everything in my power to find/chance a kaoms heart
I picked chaos dot because it doesn't really have a lot of useful spirit gems compared to most builds, imo
And the "run around while things die" style seems to work well with darkness as a mechanic, I feel
I actually just started with a similar strategy in HCSSF, but, I've been trying to theory craft around making chaos dot + poison work for clear. I'm starting to think that contagion and ED will be good enough for clear though and that really I need to figure out how to kill bosses.

I've been thinking Dark Effigy might be good enough for bosses; I was actually tempted to scale projectile damage and pierce chance on the tree so that ED would pierce and do more on the initial hit. (I'm not sure of proj damage affects dark effigy. I still don't understand totems yet.)

74% inc chaos for 4 nodes is pretty nuts.
Doing recoup with kaom's is pretty clever, since your hp pool is so massive. It also makes me wonder if something like volatility could be done by stacking some armor with it. It's a really low payoff, esp for HC, but, still interesting.

I honestly barely noticed the difference between deliberation and no deliberation while using LS

I have a frostbomb titan that used deepest tower to scale. Had a plan to eventually do deepest tower plus crit scaling but lost interest in the character.
It did work fairly well, I just looked up guides from last season and adapted those.
I didn't even use that.
But I'm a 81% block chance titan
Sundering for a shield and anvil for Amy with 3% max chance for block
I use deepest tower but no frost blomb.
Rake with life leech
Then herald of blood with crystals, splinter, armor explosion.
Fun interaction from it too and fun to watch the explosions.
Dark effigy scales with spell, totem, projectile, area, and chaos damage modifiers as far as I know.

Yeah there's the cluster with finishing blows and stars aligned. It only specifies damage with hits so can be used with any hit. And offcourse the execute support gem. It does create a very circuitous route on the passive tree as all the other nodes you want for frost bomb are in the left and upper parts of the tree (aoe, ele dam, maybe crit and reduced skill effect). Still deepest tower is op and works fairly well. My biggest issue has been bossing damage.

I didn't get to Dark Effigy but, I'm in A2 and am already feeling like poison is the wrong path for chayula darkness monk. I might end up trying the recoup idea you went with. Poison seems okay on paper, but, the spell hit from ED just isn't big enough to justify using contagion to spread it. It may be an okay way to propogate poison on a build like pconc or something though, (I've heard pconc lost a lot of clearing ability in 0.2, but, don't understand why)
Yeah when people say chaos dot, they don't typically mean poison. I died this morning in a1c to a wisp-buffed fungal abomination thing in the fungal caves. F that place.

Reality rending is definitely good for poison, but you'd need to hit often enough to have the stronger procs actually happen reliably

Darkness is certified ass outside of campaign. I tried real hard to make it work for endgame but it’s awful. I made a poison / chaos fs chonk, but used poison for clear rather than dps. That worked real good and was a nice aesthetic.
ES leech for chonk is significantly more sustainable than darkness

Yeah flickerstrike sorry. And yeah spellcaster is definitely the way to go. I tried to make it work with crown of eyes and mom but big oof. Could only get to 2300ish mana. Big squishy haha.

If I have pure phys damage base and let out a cold infused twister (50% gain), does painter's servant do anything to that twister? pob showing only cold dmg but i see ignites in game

Darkness, recoup, and ES recharge all help a lot with ehp. But, not sure how max hit will shake out.

That 50% gain as cold should become 16.67% fire, cold, and lightning, essentially. As far as I know anyway

But there's a distinction between conversion on the skill and anywhere else, they happen in two steps
So if the Damage as Extra happens on the skill itself, it can then be affected by Painter's Servant
Yeah, there's a two step process of converting/gaining from skills, then from items/other stuff
How does damage as extra works?
Dreamcore's guide led me to believe that gain was always step 2, even it was from a skill
But if there was some skill that simultaneously added 50% as fire and converted 50% of fire to cold, you wouldn't deal any cold

It'll affect the gained chaos, yeah. Gain as is like extra base damage of the given type
It is. The first step is from your skill (and support gems?). The second step is from items, passives, etc
Damage gained as Extra works basically the same way as Conversion, it just doesn't remove the base damage it's affecting. So, the damage it is adding will be affected by the final damage type, ie Chaos if it was added as Chaos

They made it a two step process so they didn't run into the design limitation in poe1 where conversions and gaining as had to go in a specific order to prevent infinite loops

Funnily enough, with dots I sometimes don't have enough things to do in boss fights. I can recast ED for a tiny bit more dps but, usually chaos bolt is my highest dps. I picked up mana drain and am surprised at how good it feels to stay topped off on mana. It enables Zenith as well which is pretty nice.

there are prob some minor changes you could make with a higher budget though.
i wrote it as a budget guide.
with higher budget i would greed for more attack speed modifiers on gear
probably would get all the resists i need from normal gear and swap the rings/amulet to be more offensive (as in higher strength values)
and would just generally ensure you are getting top tier stats instead of only ok ones for each piece.
or save your divs for another build and just go budget like its written.

Oh yeah, I leveled with frost bomb and only when I got my second ascendancy did it start feeling better. Once I got deepest tower equipped it started humming during mapping.
Does anyone know any other skill except Whirling Slash that can be used with the tanky versions of either Smith of Kitava or Lich?
I really don't like this small "preperation" that Whirling Slash needs before each map. It feels very clunky in several situations like when someone opens maps where you start in the middle and mobs jump at you right when you enter, or in any occasion where there is a phase in a fight or when for any reason you step out of the cyclone with mobs around..
Any other skill which can be used with similar success? Without preparation ofc
I'm confused by your question. I'm not quite sure we're working off the same premises here. All classes can use all skills and gear. Smith of Kitava doesn't have any stipulations on what skills/weapons he can use. Neither does lich.
I'm not sure how strong whirling slash is, but I imagine you can do pretty much any build on lich or Smith with solid results.

How does "Sustainable Practices" work?
If i have 90% evasion do i then get 27% reduced elemental damage taken?
or is it like if i have 3000 evasion rating i take 900 less elemental damage?

This is about a SPECIFIC build, which is the CI tanky version of Whirling Slash and I have seen it on Smith and Lich.
I don't know if you are aware of this build, there are several video guides for it.
I am specifically asking if the extreme tankiness of the mentioned build can be combined with some other skill except Whirling Slash with similar results, because Whirling Slash needs some kind of preparation to work EVERY time

I take cold infusion on Herald of Thunder so that enemies freeze faster and Herald of Ice activates more often. On Herald of Ice, I take lightning infusion so that enemies are shocked more often and Herald of Thunder activates more frequently. (maybe it doesn't work this way)
yeah i guess that's fine, but you really need accuracy on you weapon if you use Penetrate, or even socket it with accuracy runes

According to the silks of veneration wiki page (an item which has a similarly-worded mod), it looks like it uses the armour damage reduction formula, but inputs your evasion rating and outputs a damage reduction vs elemental damage instead of physical

Hey guys, I just finished a play through of Diablo 2 Resurrected and now I decided to try PoE, since I saw it's free on Steam and PoE 2 will get a full release soonish. Can you help me with builds please. I used a website called maxroll gg for my Diablo 2 builds and I loved how they were sorted by S tier, A tier etc. That is not the case for PoE though and since I consider myself casual player, who has limited time to play video games and only enjoys the campaigns for the most part, I would love if someone can tell me what are S tier builds in this game, so I don't waste extra time and get to enjoy the game straight away

PoE2 will not get a full release until at the very least December of this year, according to Jonathan, the game director. Many are expecting it to be later than that, but regardless it's at least 6 months until the earliest possible release date.
i guess im looking forward to the next league, if it is december, we should be expecting the bulk of their testing to finish next
hey all, if I have the deepest tower causing enemies near me to count as low life, will the finality node (120% damage with hits against low life enemies) count for totem damage?

I wouldn't personally expect more than one class to be released, but there will naturally be content besides it.
the 1 class also comes with a new weapon type, full set of active skills and likely a bunch of new support skills
and the weapon and gems just increase all the possible options for all other classes too

hey. after reading some tooltips i found this. does that mean that bleed dmg is not affected by armor? or does it only mean bleed doesnt benefit from the 20% increase from fully broken armor
Bleed is calculated off of the hit’s pre-mitigation damage. So armour or resistances of any type has no effect on the calculation of stuff like bleed ignite or poison

Armour only affects Hits, it doesn't mitigate damage over time

What does different type refer to?
- Is it just refering to the gem type? (eg skeletal warrior vs skeletal mage)
- Is it refering to stuff like "undead", "construct", "humanoid" etc? (eg all skeletons count as 1 type)
- Do summons of summons count?

This is the PoE2 build planning channel, the PoE1 channels are lower down
Spectre counts as 1 (even if you have multiple), each skeleton counts as 1 (so if you have warrior and mage, you get two additional counts), and each companion counts as 1.

As far as what's popular, wind serpent's fury and lightning spear are pretty dominant.
dps somewhere means more flexibility to get defences somewhere else
Also, tailwind and wind ward aren't as good as in poe 1, but, are still a great defensive layer when paired with Evasion.

Here is the problem: I'm currently running lvl 18 cast on crit, but I also heavily invested into int on tree, just to run high level cast on crit.
Question: does ist actually worth running high level of crit? From what I've seen on poedb, the gain between level 15 and 18 is marginal.

Interestingly, It makes the Pierces All Targets text on staggering palm actually pretty decent.
In general, if you want Pierce to go through everything, you need something that specifies that it will do so. Otherwise, it will only Pierce a finite number of enemies.
Yeah. I've been wanting to mess around with pierce + ricochet because ricochet seems to allow chaining to the same target that it pierced.

100% would allow you to guarantee a Pierce on one enemy, yes
Apparently, it can go higher and affect progressively more targets, but I've not tested this myself
In theory then, 125% would be a single pierce, and then a 25% chance to pierce an additional target
...And then there's the "Arrows Pierce an additional target" node O_O. Not sure how that factors in but, I assume it just adds an additional 100%.

Is it me or does the chain from lightning arrow chain from the initial target even if it pierces?
I would have expected it to pierce, then when it hits another target or a wall, it would chain from the impact, but, (and maybe this is just the vfx) it appears to stretch lightning from its position of impact a huge distance back to the pierced target, then continue chaining.
I think it should chain after every hit
Its not the arrow itself chaining, but it fires chaining zotz (beams) when it hits

Interesting. It seems like every other arrow I've seen that has an effect on hit will only perform the effect on the last hit. For instance, Snipe only explodes if it doesn't pierce.
I haven't tested ice shot (because I don't have a character that can test it), but, I presume it would behave the same way as snipe / stormcaller.
Does anyone know if electrocuting arrow will build up more electrocution if an enemy has multiple rods in them?
If you could support the shrine buffs it would be much easier to build around. Right now it looks like mostly a mini sacred flame so you can have added damage for your build with a sceptre. Kinda nice for low-mid investment builds but not really something you can build around.

One thing I could think off with all those enemies getting shocked around you (not sure if its from the shrine?), you might be able to use lightning conduit? But pretty sure that spell just sucks.
if I allocate all these passives that give increased armour breack %, up to a minimum of 100%, this would make the node that breaks 50% of armour on heavy stunning 100%?
Speaking off the new unique's, I've been thinking about using Adonia's Ego in a blood mage spark build. The plan is to use sacrifice and minions in the off-hand to quickly get to max power charges and consume them with adonia's. Then use the crit spark with coc arc build as a template. It looks like I can get the +3 skill lvl and about 80%-90% more elemental damage from adonia's. Seems like a good chunky amount of damage. I'd scale life, grab rathpith globe in offhand for moar damage and just spark away. Anything I might have missed with this idea?

As far as I understood, just one of the "pierce, fork, split, chain effects" gets applied with an hit, and they have a priority, not sure if thats the one i listed tho. So if you have both pierce and fork, for example, it should pierce the first target then fork if it hits a second target (if you have 100% pierce)
But LA does not chain , on hit it fires a blast that chains on hitting further enemies

Incinerate pathfinder is pretty solid. You can make most things work, though I guess it depends on your definition of "work"

Snipe releases an explosion on crit, and stormcaller will call down a bolt on the enemy a few moments after it's hit. Neither of these effects occur if they are piercing their target.
I'd like to test ice shot as well, because LA appears to create beams from every enemy hit.
I've had trouble finding a good way to scale the fire spell. The only use I've found is to constantly make a solar orb and put every font support imaginable on it.
Which is kind of nice in ssf as it acts as a constant source of rage, which frees up a lot of points to only scale max rage instead of rage generation.

i did ice chronomancer with massive cast speed and slows.. try just a basic "freezing shard" staff.. almost one skill build if you dont count the freeze bombs on bosses
i was cleaning t15 with almost nothing able to get to me, also had 12k shield with the rewind and stop time.. it passed 4th trial too
you can just rush the ice damage and elemental damage to win early, then later you get the curse/slows and finally end with shields at 60+ until 90 or whatever
like i said i was basically spamming the freezing shard skill.. the +50% more* cast speed with everything having cast speed(rings, amulet, staff..) makes it cast 4 times per second
i was using the fork in the freezing shard also
not a leveling item but this freezing shard.. obviously this isnt an easy staff to get directly but it can be like 3-10 div since staff arent meta
ill just end with this.. its a chronomancer so you do what they usually do..like have blasphemy and temporal chain(i had enfeeble too in it..) mixed with 20% slow on chrono tree

Evasion feels so useless against bosses. It feels like every hit is a slam / must be rolled
I'm at 90% evasion, and feel like it's incredible for everything except bosses :/ Is this when you take acrobatics?
The Hits that you can roll are those that Evasion is actually effective on (without Acrobatics, that would make it affect all Hits), but it works on an entropy-based system, so with 90% chance to Evade - assuming that's what it is against bosses, enemies can have different accuracy values if I'm not mistaken - you'll still be hit every 1 in 10 times on average.
For this reason, most will also use Energy Shield or some other layer of defence to keep you safe against the hits that do go through.
Is evasion less effective the more you have? Like Armor? Or is there just the entropy system?
AFAIK, Armor mitigates less if the hit is bigger, and each point becomes less effective the more you have of it. And I knew Evasion had the entropy system but, I can't remember if each point of evasion contributes less toward that system the more you have of it... If that makes sense...
You are right about Armour, Evasion just has the Entropy system, I don't believe the size hit matters outside of any accuracy bonuses that might be specific to an enemy skill - which may not even exist, too lazy to check.

That formula is actually really useful; blind is even better then if you take acrobatics, since your evasion will matter less, but you could still lower the attacker's accuracy by about 38% if you get every blind effectiveness node on the tree.

How exactly does the interaction work between Lightning Arrow and Lightning Rod? i.e. if I have 20 Lightning Rods thrown on the ground and I Lightning Arrow an enemy standing on top of them all. That arrow now bounces back and forth a trillion times (presuming they're standing still). Which skill determines the main DPS in that interaction? Is it Lightning Arrow bouncing back and forth causing its own DPS, or does Lightning Arrow make its initial whack and then Lightning Rod determines all the bouncy DPS?
