Yeah idk how that thing exists as is. 125+ es on kill
or more with es recovery
Like bro. And it being able to double your ES like damn. And oh that works??? Damn wtf
But I guess it’s a 6m unscalable aoe
Im gunna imagine they make overflow 1.5x
instead of 2x
specifically for ES at the values you can get it at its a little broken
Nah cause that also nerfs blood mage which already seems bad. Just nerf GF to have a short cool-down
Is there any other source of ES overflow?
Like maximum of 3 per second or something
meditate sounds so bad
yah blood mage is rough. Only time ive seen it successful where people are not complaining is what Quin did lol and im sure thats not what they wanted us to do with blood mage
i don't really see a point of blood mage and chayula right now
can anyone drop me a pillar of god staff pleasee
hes just doing a big hit/bleed/elemental clever use of mechanics for that one node in the tree
No asking for items on this server, sorry mate. Rule six I think
they're cheap as hell on the trade site, could probably trade any orb for one right now
im gunna yoink the korean blood mage spark crit builds
looks strong
but im like almost sure they did not intend for us to use blood mage that way with all the spell stuf in the tree they thought people wouldnt care about Casting there health away plus there mana and getting smacked in the face
But yeah I feel like blood mage needs a tweak. It’s so trash feeling rn without specific builds
is it stronger than same on stormweaver
Its pretty bad with cold/lightning/fire whatever even kinda with bone spells you can probly pull off bone stuff with some minion meatshields but minions are currently easy mode so thats no fun
Very high high though. Just leech is awkward on higher tiers. Perma curse is insulting.
no clue
without our lord and savior PoB nobody has any idea what theyre doing again
Well the issue with blood mage is we have a million ways to scale Mana and ES in the tree but we got very little to scale HP pool and regen it
The orb overhead is also trash xd
its complete shit vs bosses
They need to give the 10% spell leech in the FIRST NODE on top of the first node
What’s the point of overheal if you use it all in one spell lmao. And it’s got a soft cap on orbs. So it’s just worse grim feast
not sure why they got rid of life nodes but 30% es is perfectly fine node xd
And remember leech sucks on higher tiers
they recently buffed it havent tested it yet
leech is so useless now
tested few days ago and it was still barely nothing on ~10%
Its the only acendancy in the game that forces you to use your first node on something and its shit
Yeah I still NEED to use 40% less cost
Well I assume they also expect us to invest in more lifesteal efficeincy right and im sure nobody is doing that
even if I double or triple it then it's still nothing
Can’t use mana to life on my spell that deals like 2mil to a pack. At 500 hp it still doesn’t work
I still go negative AF
Are there any BMs using like phys spells or something and pathing to Vaal Pact?
Would be interesting
Yah I was looking into going crit bone blood mage. Seems like they want us to do that... But bonestorm is impossible to do in the time your pin lasts enless you ahve minions
even with increased bone cage pin it doesnt last long enough for a full blood storm
Maybe with high enough CC and Insta leech it’ll work idk
Shouldn’t need ascension 4 and 10 ex gloves to go neutral lmao
and blood storm is kinda iffy sometimes with like stairs and lower/higher levels and doesnt hit sometimes which is rough
So I'm messing around with gas grenade builds and maybe I'm crazy but it seems that enemies only ever can get hit by a single instance of gas grenades? Like if I stack 20 grenades on an enemy they don't seem to take any more damage than if I were just single tapping, throwing 5 and exploding them immediately. Am I wrong?
Ye enemy can only get 1 poison stack
This is an ongoing problem with a lot of flatter aoes
the terrain is clipping all over the place
really annoying
yah but when your trying to make a horrible acendancy work with a bad character any downside is massive
I have a queston, I am playing a Mercenary lightning build. the arrows say they convert physical damage as lightning damage, can I still get physical nodes to up my damage or just lightning. I am trying to understand how the math works.
Not alking about poison, talking about exploding the nades.
I had a boss just standing in like 20 of them and it did barely any more damage than just going shoot explode shoot explode.
You only get modifiers on the final converted value type, e.g. if you deal 100 phys dmg and 40% converted to lightning
60 phys (can be increased only by phys modifiers)
40 lightning (can be increased only by lightning modifiers)
if it converts then physical dmg nodes doesn't affect lightning part
Yeah it’s like: Weapon stats -> convert ratios -> multipliers
Unlike Poe 1 where you could double dip by boost convert boost
ok so its based on the base value of attack before conversion applies then the bonuses to damage apply afterward. hmm ok thanks for the info
I was wondering why my lightning damage seems to be falling off to fast. Yeah I am use to poe1 calculations
Attacks pull damage from your weapon into a % of the attack dmg scaling and then if theres conversion, that value gets converted, then multipliers apply
Yes, different than poe1
no more double sided scaling
Can anyone point me in the direction of resources to help understand how things work? Stuff like how %dmg of X is added as Y. Additionally, im having trouble knowing what nodes to take for certain class builds. If I want to play cold sorc/summoner its pretty easy to find nodes on the tree for like cold damage/minion damage and fill in some defenses but when I play like monk or mercenary, the node options seem a lot more complicated. Really just want some direction on resources I can begin to consume to better understand how to build characters. (I heard some things have changed in POE2 from POE1, so im reluctant to follow old guides).
The tooltiops ingame if you hoover the udnerlined terms is pretty great imo
You want a bit of each. Some spell damage. Some generic damage. Some cast speed. Some cold damage.
It's mostly intuitive but ask if you find anything that's specific
Or is that not how it works and I’m dumb?
Im looking for guides that I can take a deeper dive into the game with
I would wager you still want to bucket your damage types - passive nodes are more valuable here imo
in relation to the rest of the tree
So if you want to scale cold, then do that, if you want to scale minions, then do that. I wouldnt do both.
Unless youre just using minions as utility
Is this how it works btw. Or is a 50% spell dmg and 50% cold dmg the same as 100% spell/cold damage
Yes
yeah sorry if the / was confusing, those are meant to be 2 different examples..
Yes isn’t an answer xd
Ah cool, good to know
i understand how to make a cold sorc or a summoner.. whats confusing is monk or mercenary stuff, there are no obvious node clusters for melee and physical damage
its more like crit, accuracy, atk speed, etc
Maybe I can inspect out of some of the early 8% spell dmg node
There’s a ton of solid nodes. Lotta damage and attack speed. Hella evasion % boosts
but really thats just a tangent of my greater question which is where i can find some good resources to really take a deep dive into the games mechanical interactions and how different stats play off each other
So some very shoddy testing is making me believe that cull still procs herald of ash overkill from the hit that would have killed the target, anyone able to test on their end?
Are people taking much accuracy stuff? I haven't had to on my bowbringer at all other than just dex but he's only 60ish
Using galvanic shards and +cull threshold I'm getting the burning AOE effect and mobs are losing life from it
So dunno how it is later
I think it’s nice for AS scaling. But not sure
I've taken 0 accuracy at level 60 Xbow Merc and never miss afaict
Yeah acc barely matters. It’s just a nice stat for ACC = attack speed
Dex seems to solve accuracy a lot easier
Cause you can get pretty crazy acc
What node is that
Down right somewhere. Idk its name
I think he means dex->atk speed
Nah acc AS
Falcon Dive
It’s south of Dec AS
Afaict there's no way to scale acc directly into any other stat
Nice
Yee it’s nice IMO
Sweeeeeeeet
Cause how abundant ACC is and you can kinda just scale it easily
Not sure if it’s GOOD
Possible to get enough mana regen to do MoM + EB + CI on sorc? Or is this just a bad idea for another reason?
But with how big the acc %s are I’d imagine it’s good
? Huh
Ehhh I kinda ran out a other stuff so I was pathing towards ranger anyways
Oh fair. Thought you were dating merch and warriors were going to it
And yeah it’s also in a nice spot
Near the bow node and the dex AS node. So Arrow speed, dex and ACC for extra scaling
No, saying that theyd have to spend a lot to get there so prob not grabbing it unless anoint
and its probably like 6 white oils based on every anoint ive looked at so far
Hmm wonder how much the annoying is
Everything is so expensive now
even like Beef
The power -> oil rarity ratio was much better in poe1
K good. Just making sure
Cause yeah it’s oil on neck and breach on rings yea?
catalysts can affect amulets as well
But the catalyst won't increase the anoint, for example
Neat. How much qual is each cata btw
just explicit and implicit on item
breach ring base lets you go to 50%
rest are 20%
Yeye. But how much % per slam
Man high roll resistance breach rings have got to go insane
Not sure
Yeah breach rings look crazy
50% multiplier triple res ring could be like 225 total res
good to note that (afaik) theres no generic resistance catalyst
only one for each element
fire, cold, light, chaos
all ele res works with any of the ele catalysts though
besides bow builds are there any ranged builds that are crushing content and aren't glass cannons currently?
Yes.
Grim feast, that one dodge ES skill, armor, evasion, cap res
Lots of defensive utilities
Yeah ideal would be all res + at least one high roll single res and then juice that element quality to hell
Merc seems funky to scale defenses on evasions good but not reliable, armors only okay, my gear probably just sucks tbh.
I think it’s just life cata tbh
Need more passive recovery and life o guess
Can you get % life flat life neck and annoint life
Cata*
Craycray
e.g.
No % on rings though
Tremendous
fake item but possible
Oh shit there’s + to spell skills on neck
OMW
And I thought my boy was goated
Don’t ask why I SSd an SS
No wonder Archmage is so insane rn
Is Archemage build the only viable caster ? or is there a tanky caster build that dos not use archemage ?
+% dmg per mana of spell and high level spell costing like 600 mana god damn
My Despair is at like 26 i think and with just heightened curse on it its like 500 mana or somn
I’m hex blast blood mage
Yeah self casting curse is a meme
I accept the consequences
Bloodmage sounds like just bad considering how expensive spells are to cast
Decaying hex gives chaos dot an additional amplifier for dark effigy
and only way is to self cast
Yeah probs better to not use blood mage
But the idea is still there
Hexblast + Grim feast. STR + INT. Grab a shield. Get armor and ES
Tanky. Big aoe. Nukes non bosses. Deals with swarms great. Like Ritual and Breach
Blasphemy + Despair & temp chain is lovely
Yeah from all the people that have asked about it in the ed contagion channel I've recommended hexblast instead, just isnt gunna work with dots
I thougt about some strange stuff with infernalist with the note that you dont have mana anymore and the covenant and demon stichers and ghostwrith. like building a better bloodmage
Sadly hexblast only dets one. But it’s still good. And it’s a 1 button build. Walk click. Pack kaboom
Are you at t16 maps with that ?
Any reccomendations on good support gems for spark, orb of storms, or conductivity?
Not yet. On t10 easy rn though no issues
:x mh then i better dont risk it
3rd repost: hey guys! if i hold alt on chayula monk's "into the breach" it says quality can affect it. but is there really a way to increase it's quality? gemcutter's prism does not seem to be an option.
anyone know?
for avatar of fire, does anyone know how damage increases for phys vs fire from the passive tree work? Is it a two step conversion where phys has increases applied, times .75 from AoF, and thenfire damage increases from tree?
Quality your wand/staff?
Those are catalysts
Oh for the skill
Some skills don’t get quality affect
I dont wanna play a build that needs a insane amount of currency to hit t16 ^^
i guess ill craft my own build
yeah its an ascendancy skill but if u hold ALT over it, it literally says the upgrade u get from getting more quality haha
as far as I know there is not a way to currently give ascendancy skills quality
just play gas arrow its still refartedly strong
thanks for the response haha
it says the same for chronomancer skills, I don't think a method of increasing it exists yet
I thought gas arrow was in the crosshairs for a nerf
I mean I haven’t tried t16 yet
does way too much dmg for 0 investment in ignite
In PoE1 there were uniques for quality not yet here in PoE2
I thought about a veil throw pathfinder ^^ so i can use a shield
anyone have any insight into how avatar of fire works for damage increases for phys vs fire from passive tree?
only works for fire
Read conversion tool tip
that's not necessarily true since your phys is converted to fire at .75 - increases to phys still increase the base
No it doesnt
Nah conversion fires first
Only final converted value type matters for multipliers
Except for your weapon I think.
Higher listed phys on your weap is still good so yea
There are some gems that affect specifically the ranges that work with damage conversion
Base physical -> conversion -> global
do poisen builds scale chaos dmg in the tree ? could i build a selfcast pathfinder with hexbladast and still use the poisen vile the ascendency gives effectivly ? what exaclty you scale on the tree as poisen ?
Chaos spells don't inflict poison I don't think
Scaling chaos dmg doesnt increase the dmg of the poison if you are using physical to create it
ah damit
Does that make sense?
ye there gos my idea
Cause if you used a chaos hit then technically scaling chaos would increase the value increased by the poison magnitude
makes sense, I think I was also assuming there was more +phys on the tree which there is not
and that wouldnt work since the phys hit at the start is important right ?
It depends on what you want to use as an applicator for poison
is what I was getting at
Yeah they've culled a lot of sources of flat added dmg
Makes the math simpler so I get it
More intuitive
Kinda annoying since it makes weapon base damage extremely important tbh
Oh wait really damn that’s so good
time to see if a .25 reduction is worth it for all the ignite magnitude scaling
Yes, much better than pen imo
So me giving them despair and Withered is like a LOT
Despair lowers chaos res and wither increases their chaos damage taken after their res is reduced
So yes
It's pretty important for chaos dmg to scale well
Which is why dark effigy totem withering touch support carries every chaos build rn
just a small side FYI, eye of winter with withering touch and a 'cast on' support of some type will instantly apply 50 wither more or less
and the crit debuff as well
I've heard of people using EoW as well yeah
recoup is the dmg u take, AND PREVENT right?
That is healed over the duration?
totem takes a second to stack it up so it can be helpful
EoW is just a insane debuffer
Will look into stuff for faster wither stacking TY
Just take i think
The crit weakness is useful for critblast builds too, like nischana said
after midigation so only dmg you take
I dont get much from it for chaos dot so the totem is more effective for me + poison for shits n giggles
Dark effigy applying poison stacks which increases its own damage by giving them another chaos debuff to shoot more projectiles
it says on the wiki "and prevented" but hmm ok
Oh true I forgot about the crit weakness
what is the difference between these two?
crit hexblast just doesn't intuitively pair with the DOT side of things though right, essence drain and decaying hex and such?
I think they are innately separate builds
Aoe is size. Aad is damage
yeah which is just a huge feelsbad
Yeah DoT isn’t Hexblast
so the first one just increases the damage not the aoe right?
They may be around the same areas because theres not much chao dmg to take on the tree but they function completely differently and want different utility
I forget is the crit vuln thing crit chance or damage
chance
Hmmmm
Still need 15% base crit first I guess. Oh nvm
per stack
Oh yeah that’s right.
which means its very good
wdym? one is increase of area and the other damage
guys do you think Infernalist, hexblast with the covernat, demon stitchers, Atziris Disdain could work ?
just making sure, in my language the TL can be read as both increasing AOE
Are people actually using covenant
ill be dead before I give up my rare body armor slot tbh
It only increases attack damage for area things.
So not single target attacks for example
youll have to pry my rare body armor from my cold dead hands
Weapon swap speed good? I'm using two weapons wondering if it'll change a lot
Seems like it for fluidity
Weap swap speed is surprisingly good
well i dont know it seem sick and i using ghostwrithe in my currend build atm. its woth 1200 Base ES for me
yes it's incredible, i'd shoot for 50-75% from tree/jewels
can monsters have negative resistance trough debuffs?
How is 30 ailment threshold?
I have the node for ailment threshold per dexterity and I don't know if it's a lot or not
Yes
Can’t pen past 0. Can reduce below 0
what is the max life someone has managed to get without overflow, it seems pretty impossible to stack life over energy shield.
Yea ofc not. Life nodes are trash. Outside maybe minion life and the hammer
Not sure about Max but 3k seems common-ish on life scaling ascendancies
E g. Titan, infernalist
thanks
And a Inferalist with like 3k health 5% leech and 5-6k ES sounds sick
I just went MoM on mine but I'm only at T10s
AFAIK it means ailments pretend you have 30% more life than you do, so if an enemy needs to do 1000 damage to freeze you, it'll be 1300 instead. it's pretty inconsequential unless you find yourself getting frozen a lot by regular enemies
The hammer that makes minion stats apply to you makes those 8% life nodes go crazy yea?
30 % could be sensible looking at the rest of the tree
I gues I'll substitute for ailment mitigation like less effect of shock
yeah it would apply to basically anything, but it makes the effect less likely (for shock) instead of less powerful
Mitigation res is nice. Also can you change the earlier act investments? Like the vials?
Cause I hate being frozen in tower maps
Im also curious abt that if you find out lmk
Have been logging out when getting frozen to not rip the map XD
Yeah same probs. I’m legit chugging my mana flask 24/7
(Fr why doesn’t blood mage lower the mana costs)
Im doing lightning warp soul drain life drain tech
helps a lot
but still lots of mana costs
That’s just hp heal no?
soul is mana
Ah ok. Hmm maybe
can you add sockets to corrupted gear?
oh ok ty
check the BL and LW supports
(Overcharge affects the shocked ground)
(makes it 35%)
you could do a dd titan with that xD like speccing into 2h+Shield
It does work though yea? Cause that’d be actual good life ye?
maybe could be sick with the titan note that scales small notes better and dd isnt that bad
did they patch shockwave support to not work with vaulting leap slam? I remember it working a week ago, but It no longer seems to
Or is the efect just missing?
but you lose 4-5+ spell level thats kinda huge
I can’t even afford more levels cause I’m dying from the spell casts
bloodmage problems :x
I mean also having mana issues at the same time lol
No spell lvl on shield or neck slot. Still doing fine IMO
Use inspiration support
Spark bloodmage here crushing t12
Are there any Bonestorm mains that have used Scattershot with it? I use it and it seems very good at spoiling up the channel but it has a huge hit to paper DPS. So I was wondering if anyone else has an opinion on whether the spool up time benefit outweighs the reduced dps?
i could do t12 as soon i hit maps..^^
My Hexblast costs like 600 mana hp before the 40% cost reduction
How much leech resistance does t16 maps have?
outch
does this conversion of three dragons only affect shock, ignite and freezing?
in other words, does is affect electrocute-chance?
well take for instance this support i'm using
lightning dmg
Should be fine
should be, right
Not sure if you’ll freeze though
i can freeze with another skill
you can electrocute with three dragons just fine
They p much got rid of the old system of lesser ailment -> stronger ailment, e.g. chill and freeze are completely separated ailments now but both are applied via cold damage
also three dragons does not prevent freeze at all
cold damage will still freeze
lightning will also freeze
huh?
cold damage doesn't chill any more
Yeah says contribute not convert
ah true!
but it doesn't mention freezing
this is a change from POE 1
not sure if it's intentional TBH
err
question is if it's bad wording (as in: meant is freezing, instead of chilling) or if it's actually meant to be chilling
with three dragons on
Oh sorry
it will not chill
Roger that capn dragon
Oh nvm what I said was wrong
like, does the mechanic behind the mask work on freeze (and it's just badly written) or if it's actually chill
but i used it for a bit on one of my builds and i do freeze and electrocute with lightning and also i freeze with cold
Why does it say “contribute and no longer” instead of “convert” xd
so i can confirm it works that way as of like earlier this week
so essentially the only thing you will not be able to do is shock - unless you have a skill that contributes shock
right?
won't be able to shock unless you use fire damage
not at all, not even if you use a support for shock?
i had fire->cold gloves on so i could not shock at all
unless i used shocking ground from that monk skill
Because the inherent chance for cold to chill can't be converted, as it's not really a value it's a binary function
Cold damage can chill y/n
etc
they can toggle the switch
ah yea right that exists, true
Can rain of arrows hit a single target multiple times?
wired infernalist hexblast it is^^
As a RR or rebuild
RR ? its my second char
Reroll*
Each arrow is independent afaik so you'd have to word the question better
But that may answer your question
Just build something you like and respec when you get Hexblast.
more like second char i kinda done with my minion chronomancer build
Hexblast + blasphemy is just Insta act 4 to endgame speed run
But gold on a second character will make respect ez
Respec*
I think you could level with gas arrow and radiant grief with 0 investment on the tree. Maybe I should try
To prove a point
lol
What’s radiant grief?
I'm running molten blast gemling with blasphemy
perma ignite in your presence
kinda melts
so since they perma ignite, gas arrow always explodes
Ah ye the helm
what do i do they unique bow with the 200% quiver bonus or just upgrade the bow as i go ?
I don't even take damage with a shield while being ranged as molten blast gemling...
Unique bow is bait
Just get dualstrings with good phys rolls spaced like 15-20 levels out imo
i will try that , that sound more fun then minion again
attack speed helps too but i dont think its necessary
and when i get hexblast ill just respcc
Is the quality effect of mana tempest bugged or just doesn't show in the buffs?
I guess it's easy to test
if tehres any attack damage on your way to the pathing then might as well grab it and respec when you get there
can you give me a quick low level prio for gas arrow radiant grief setup ?
Like attack speed you either want a LOT of, or you don’t care
guys can you hold two scepters?
Is there no build plan for people at/below skill gems 12 for monk!?! All of the content creators show OP builds and then list stats w/much higher skill gem levels.
I don’t think I have any cast speed cause I just one bonk packs and cast speed drains more mana
Uhh I think I've seen scattershot and the fire infusion
can any class use any skill? like if i have the right weapon and attributes i can use anything?
and if you get a third sock then do primal arm
I’m currently a mage with a thicc shield and heavy armor and also a little stick
Swish and flick
i was thinking about using the plague finger to poison with a heavy hitting lightning spell. for poison scaling i know magnitude is good, but would scaling lightning damage work as well?
What kind of passive would i want to distill on Amulett while playing LA Deadeye?
Can someone tell me if i can chill enemy using only fire spells and this wand?
But they can be EXPENSIVE
Okay this answered it. Bc if I frenzy stack then shoot it and it’s has like 100 arrows I just don’t want it to be a waist if I don’t have too. Now how does that interact with distance. Does it count a distance when it connects or distance when shot?
is there any item or way to just make all ur energy shield go to life?
You can make ES mana
That's a good question I have no clue lol I'd imagine each arrow counts for the distance when the damage is applied
And Mana -> life
That's my guess at least
nah only the other way around, or make some ES to Mana and tzhen go MoM
I've got a buddy who just got Giant's Blood and is feeling like he's doing less dps with two 2h compared to one 2h. I haven't look at his build exactly yet but any ideas on why? 🤔
One of my guesses would be that the second 2h weapon wasn't as great and dual wielding still makes you hit with both weapons but at -30% damage penalty. Not sure what else is at play.
you can chill enemies, but if you are mostly scaling fire damage on your tree then the cold damage can be pretty low so you might struggle to chill bosses/rares etc
but EB only takes flat values not scaled ones
ty
hey, any1 playing a minion build rn can check if you can see crit rate on your brutes?
Your guess is most likely true
are people actually dual wielding with GB? I thought a majority were doing 2h + shield
I think it may be listed dps being wrong but it’s actual dps is up? Idk
ik for example totems builds do because they want two +7 to melee skills
but my buddy is new to the game and just thought it looked cool
It does look cool
That's pretty true
Tell him shields are cooler cause alive characters are the most cool
Yeah my friends using silly anchor plus new support skill
Seems broken af in one shotting anything
cant be cool if youre dead
And i quess if node check last 4 seconds it's also apply for 4 seconds? (it don't say how long it last)
Hows that work
Using gascloud then switching and anchor dunking
arrow or grnade?
Yeah fart run. Big boy? Nuke anchor
hover over recently
Actually taking advantage of the weapons switching. Which is crazy powerful and under utilised
Agreed theres a lot to optimize
People losing their marbles over the balance of a game that we've had for less than two weeks are annoying me
tierlist crowd
Though there is a weird bug they found. Weapon switching and having different stat reqs makes their weapon not work so they gotta take off put on the weapon
This channel was unbearable after the meta gem nerf
I mean the new aftershock support gem seems fucked ngl
And grim feast is clearly crazy
Yeah stuff is gunna get nerfed
But yea people get very hung up on stuff
I know time period it checking but for how long i will get 40% el. dmg buf
my bet grim feast nerf would be that it dosnt overcap anymore
As long as youve done a crit in the last 4 seconds lol
Nah. Just give it a slight cool-down
So like a 5 charges that regen every 0.5 seconds or something
cooldown would make it totaly useless imo, or it would be still to strong
the overshield is just to good as a hp buffer
Cause you clear one pack and bam, +1800 shield xd
I mean bloodmage has one
No it has not
So either a % or a soft cap
now i read that again... i'm stupid xD
ty
it has a the skill in text...but it comes with a drain that just kills your overshield by default
if you could build it to a degree bloodmage would be so good
It has a cap of a blood orb on crits to a cool-down iirc
Or is that on its kill. Either way there is a weird soft cap
Meanwhile grim feast xd
Bloodmage one is on kill & all few seconds on crit
Yeah but also a 25% chance on kill not 100%
Weapon switching is a lot of fun
grim feast isnt 100% too^^
But grim feast does have the weird presence thing meaning nearby and unstable
Unscaleable
(Can scale presence size I guess but not really)
I think if you can build overshield with grim feast it will allways be a problem considering how rarely good builds get hit
Need help on deciding which route to go for endgame. Just hit Maps and I have been struggling just doing charged staff power charges build. Would Ice strike, Falling thunder, or Flicker strike be the move for endgame?
alpha howl
basically offscreens
12m is more than my screen can see
maybe if youre playing on mega super giga widescreen you could see it
been a while since i've used Blackflame. Since it turns any ignite to chaos dot, am I still trying to go towards fire dmg, or full chaos damage?
I think at normal aspect ratio its like 8ish to 9ish meter for edge of screen
Fire dmg
Chaos dmg up won’t scale the dot
It makes the enemy take chaos damage from your ignites but your ignite magnitude is still scaled only by fire damage
gotcha, thanks so much for the response! Goign to try it out on explosive concoction
another question regarding that. I know ignites scale with the hit dmg of the initial hit. Is the only way to scale ignite basically "increased magnitude of ignite" AND the hit dmg? (i.e., projectile dmg, fire dmg)
Kinda yea. Some stuff reads “increases ignite magnitude” as you said
And you can make em take more chaos
With wither or despair curse
perfect thanks. il ltry to do that. it's mostly projectile because ranger has like zero fire dmg nodes around it lol
When you say scale I'll assume you mean scale the damage value itself and the answer to that is yes, but you can also make ignites do their damage over a shorter period of time (should read "Ignites deal damage x% faster") so there are ways to increase your overall dps outside of just hit and magnitude scaling
I've got through the game and now i'm into cruel but I'm having to rely on simply lurking around and hitting first, not enough shield or HP and I have no idea what to do, current "build" is a frost scorc I have high dmg on one ability but god damn im so lost with this skill tree
Also using flammability and fire exposure helps too obviously
According to patch notes, this Merc build has not been touched upon in a negative way. but how can it be that with lvl 45 in the middle of act 3 I do the bosses kinda zero dps - I have skills gems at max (10) which works the same as the supp gems (max lvl 2) https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/builds/lolcohol-grenadier-mercenary?weaponSet=set1#changelog-3
i've checked most spots for the ignites deal dmg x% faster, and I can't really fidn that on items or the skill tree. I'll keep checking tho
so flammability will also help with dmg? even though they're taking chaos dmg?
Oh true. Blasphemy + Flamabily & despair. Stonks
or are you strictly talking about fire ignites
np you're good
and wither
haha for real
Both
doedres and blackflame
we'll see. im also trying to use alchemist's boon, so im not sure ill have enough spirit for despair and flamm
Or amulet with +curse annoint
Hey I’m just starting out this game how do I become a infernalist
doedre's is cracked. with the cast speed increase from inferalist demon form you barely notice the downside
Follow your quests
trial of sekhema is to ascend
What builds do people run for sorc that feels good to play?
he's talking about the ring in this case, but yes that one is good too
I really don't want to reroll
spark and firewall
spark and firewall in t16s?
Need help on deciding which route to go for endgame. Just hit Maps and I have been struggling just doing charged staff power charges build. Would Ice strike, Falling thunder, or Flicker strike be the move for endgame?
no clue sorry. idk about endgame builds
I am a CoF comet refugee, swapped over to elemental storms but it feels like crap in terms of speed
Ice strike seems insane with how easy freeze buildup is rn
does anyone know wahts the name ofarmor that deal 100 fire dmg to nearby enemys???
and with the freeze nerfs it's garbage on rares and uniques
Try frost bolt ice nova ig
Idk what the dmg looks like but thats the classic Cast on Crit spells
dunno how much energy gen that requires tho
Is there a decent guide to go by for infernalist witch or a particular person that’s recommended
does anyone know wahts the name ofarmor that deal 100 fire dmg to nearby enemys???
are you talking abt radiant grief? its an ignite that does perma 100 base "hit" for magnitude scaling
Do "increases to minion damage" affect ignite damage inflicted by effects such as Infernal Hound?
technically yes
RF at home
if they hit harder fire hits they do more ignite dmg
Well, the effect I'm referring to is
Minions Ignite Enemies within a radius of 1.5 metres as though dealt Base Fire Damage equal to 20% of Minion's Maximum Life
Hmm flammability double dips in fire DOT doesn’t it
Cause bigger initial and increasing the DOT
Yes and exposure
Crazy
curse and exposure is important to scaling ele dmg which is why stormweaver is great
in that case no
only scaling their life would increase that value
Unless you buff your minions fire dmg with a Neck no?
With the “your minions have your neck” thing
is this good or bad
Well yeah but specifically that statline is what I'm referring to there
should be around 1 ex if you look on trade
Also does the hammer that makes you scale with minion stats means that necklace node has no downside?
any way to just get all your energy shield, after boosts, to health?
Hmm probably but I dont think its a good unique to lose a sceptre
so wouldnt matter anyways
But funny hammer >:(
its a strong effect but you lose too much taking it from a weapon
Infinite loop. You put that annoint on your neck.
Bam you minions get it. You no longer have the annoint. You regain. Bam you have like a +life on your neck. Life bounce infinity
I’m very tired
I don't think so
does vitality support gem make more sense on herald of ash or time of need? Like is herald ALWAYS active?
whichever you have more free sockets on
no items? thx for reply bro
But what if though no? You also have like, an aura that needs a specific int stat that’s only solved by the neck. You reapply every tick.
so it would regen equally no matter which skill?
Correct
ty
seems so hard to get shit to hp, if anyone thinks its relatively possible to get 10k hp as either an infernalist witch or blood mage.
(to the player not minions)
lemme know.
(Pre overflow)
Quick someone waste an annoint for a meme xd
All I can imagine is silly hammer with minion nodes
Idk if anoints work for that
probably not though cause minions dont get the passive tree
I mean I ain’t rich enough to try it lol
wait so this is the players hp?
And it’s not about that. It’s about you losing your neck.
Then losing the neck that loses your neck.
dw about it lol
Yeah funny int hammer. “Your minion mosifiers also affect you”
OOOOOOOOOO
So the numerous 8% Inc hp nodes affect you I’d assume
Yeah 2h hammer. 100 int and a chunk of strength
only minion damage
and I dont need to have the minions out?
Any tips for managing mana better on a witch hunter spark build?
use lifetap support gem on spark
try mana remnants if youre shocking consistently, might be good I havent tried it yet
When is "extra damage" calculated? Is there a certain point where I've had enough +attack nodes that I'd get more from switching a few to extra damage nodes?
I thought about that but not sure about if I'd be able to get enough life regen either
fuck me up the fucking pusssyyy fuuuuuuuccckkkk
damnit!
why is hp so fucking nerfed!
fuck sake!
lol.
Yeah HP is tough.
it sure is
If it works like it did before then it is calculated after the source damage and before conversion
How much life can you get on ring?
I guess blood mage with life remnants too
Cause double breach ring 200 life and then neck with huge % life would go crazy
Kaoms for another 1k. Already like 3k life from 4 items
"then neck" ? also getting +% to life seems impossible
% increased max life is an affix on amulets
Basically the only % life in the game
aside from ascendancies theres like one node I think near warrior
Titan will have best life scaling in the game
for now
or maybe infernalist
havent looked at the numbers to compare specifically
please tell me gold drops better at end game
titans got +15% max hp.
+8% str and 50% from small passives.
Witch infernalist has +12% max hp, 2nd best tbh.
Has anyone tried to do falling thunder as a full slam build? is it any good
Hiii I just unlocked dual weal two handed weapons on my warrior, there’s a section on the skill tree that increases damage done by two handed weapons, and another branch that increases damage to one handed weapons, because I’m duel wielding two handlers now, does that damage increase count to the one handed or two handed weapon branch on the skill tree?
Sorry this sounds dumb lol idk how else to word it
Doubt it. I’d assume it checks for one handed tag and boosts them
They're counted as 2handed weapons for the purpose of those nodes
Okay so continue boosting two handlers on my skill tree even though I’m dual welding two handlers?
Yes
Kk thank you lol
what element do people usually use with a bow. im a monk and i got to mapping and got my ass beat so want to do a aoe dmg bow build but want chaos and poison maybe
How does "x% extra damage as fire damage" work ? Is it after all other % have been applied, effectively doing x% damage more or ?
I didn't see any pins, but are there any good resources to help understand how to make your own build? I think I'm stuck thinking in Diablo/rpg ways and not appreciating how creative you can really be in poe.
Never played the poe 1, mid way through campaign in 2, but I want to learn this stuff. Not to be hardcore, but to just do my own fun thing
But idk the efficacy of dual wielding 2h rn, I haven't looked at it, you get a dmg penalty for dual wielding
just something to note
how much % does thsi neck give?
Yeah I might take it off, 3x strength requirement is really screwing every other aspect of my build lol
I think it’s mostly for stat sticking with + lvl if I had to guess.
From what I've heard yeah for totems
Perfect blood is like 20% I think
also kaoms?
wow nice!
now we're talkin
are necklaces with a node tree passive expensive i have one but idk how much to sell for
Depends on the node. But yes
Find a skill/damage type you want to focus on, pick a weapon or spells, look at the interactions that skill has with other skills for utility, then start pathing a tree for things that scale that concept
That's what I do atleast
50% increase shock buildup to electrocuted and 50% electrocute build up to shocked enemies
Sometimes you can start with the interaction part if there's a particular interaction you find interesting or strong
idk what to sell for
How much was the allocate worth? Any idea
Nobody really knows what anything is worth rn
nah tbh my friend was grinding hardcore poe2 then quit and he gave me some stuff so idk he made it
What is kaoms?
is armour worth building at all?
Kaoms chest. +1k life. No spirit
I’d say check the price of the distilleds
just wasn't sure if it was viable over ES/Evasion. trying to help my brother with survivability as a merc
Start from there. Cause some are like, 600ex
I Use a sorceress with Chaos inoculation. Are my life Flasks now Useless?
as a monk i just stack ES/Evade and he's been going for armour and getting popped left and right in t2/3
yes
You always want capped res. Always want good life/es (probs ES, grim feast is insane)
I guess my struggle is approaching just how open building can be. But, I'll try to start with just a skill to build around
And then you get a mixture of evasion and armor.
Maybe a shield for a chunk of block
I think you want to have access to armor break effects to scale armor with scavenged plating for it to be really effective at the end of the day, but it's still going to add EHP to physical damage even if you dont. Taking things like Heatproofing will only increase its efficacy as a defensive to solely focus on.
oh yeah i run grim feast. it's absurd. i don't think he is res capped. need to work on getting him better armour and ES then
Is there no way to get any use out of them at all?
I mean you’re CI. You’re already well off it’s fine.
Outside of pot heals minions, which may not even work
And there’s a “life flask gives ES” node I think
what's scavenged plating? i don't see in passive tree
and i'm only familiar with monk stuff still lol
I find it more effective to be reductionist in the beginning and then add on utility/interactions from where you started with your original concept.
e.g. "I want to do physical damage with bows, so I have to pick from rain of arrows, snipe, or spiral volley. How do those skills interact? What things do they need to be effective? I see I need frenzy charges so now I need to find frenzy charge generation."
And the more game knowledge you have the more extrapolating you can do to scale dmg/add utility. Sorry to be vague but that's the general philosophy I follow
How much do level 2 support gems cost? I need more healing on my low level warrior, I have 57% armor rn, are there any better options than to just use life thief?
spirit gem
My character is level 8, so limited options
Ele res and life
nice, can this kaoms ever have energy shield on it, or is this impossible?
But also 57% armor at lvl 8 just keep playing
you won't be able to use them until you're a specific level anyway. just get them when you are at the level they start dropping
What is ele res?
How does ignite work when the target already has ignite applied? I'm psure it doesn't stack, but what does happen?
Don’t think so. It’s a unique. So outside of weird Vaal maybe
True true
thx for all the help =)
Takes highest IIRC
Ty, makes sense. So nothing happens if a Stronger ignite has 0.001s left and I try to apply a weaker ignite?
can i do cast on shock and cast on crit ? or do they share energy
Is it anyone experience that fire sorc skills are underperforming? perhaps its bc im using firestorm but would like some build advice
No apologies man, I really just appreciate advice at all, so thank you!
If it’s based on POE 1 they’re all “active” but it only uses the strongest
Assuming it works the same as in PoE1, multiple ignites can exist on a target but only the highest value ignite will deal damage
jinx

Make sure you are using a source of fire exposure and possibly also flammability
the blood mage can convert their body armours energy shield to life.
Would that body armours energy shield, boosted by your energy shield% talents, convert it all that to life?
Oh interesting, that's great then.
Over 1k es chest?
I'd have to test as this doesn't explicitly say "converts"
Oh does it not say convert hmmm
well u can get 500 energy shield on a body armour, like 500% more energy shield talents.
That's like 2500?
if it works that way
Find a blood mage with that node and ask em lol
Cause yeah i was gunna say if it says “convert”. I can check tomorrow if I get reminded
|
OR rather it just adds that life on sorry, not convert it.
May work?
I've played Ranger and Witch through campaign, but playing Sorc now. It feels so much weaker then Ranger and Witch.Am I doing something wrong? Lol
or rather add it on I mean.
How urgently do you need to know
Oh, then no it doesnt work like the way youre thinking it does, it just takes the ES value of your body armor
Cause I can test now if ya need. But I’d rather do it later haha
yeah sure but ur body armour may be boosted due to increasing talents
I’d assume not though
So if the ES value on your body armor is 1000 then it adds 1000 max life
be awesome if someone could test it, i cnat sadly
yeah but are we sure?
have u tried it?
it may be a bit different than other talents
No but by the wording there's no indication it should gain increased energy shield modifiers from global sources
No other node or effect has ever worked like that
I guess
Merc level 5 battle hardened or remorseless
And as of right now, based on trade at least it seems the top-end for ES values on body armor is at about 1000
But that'd be insanely expensive
do you need physical damage for a bow or projectile damage or both
Technically better than kaoms
as long as you dont take chaos dmg xD
My body armor has 1200 ES if you only want es that is 😛
The value of that completely depends on the stat lines you're referring to, whether they're locally on the weapon itself or global, and the skill you're wanting to scale
Is there any good Warbringer start up builds?
makes sense
Warbringer, just hit maps and getting destroyed, should I respect totems or try the str stacking corrupted blood warcry thing?
From the builds that I'm aware of that are commonly accessible it's one of those two
I'm working on a bowbringer rn but I'm still in a3 cruel
but its going well
I'll probably publish the build when I get to maps and see how good it is
"you" does not include my minions, does it?
I need some help 😩, i have a decent mace but I can't equip it because of giants blood should I cut giants blood and shield for around 2x damage?
It does not
anybody know where this drops?
Shucks, okay. Thanks
Anywhere
With luck but you mostlikely never see it
if you want to make a build with it forget it unless you have 6k ex banked
i have stash tab full of rings xD
Chance + Stellar Amulet
i need gold 😭
3 ex for a white neck lol
yes get lucky bro 😉
When you take CI, are you considered on low life?
No
Is there any word on the street abt ilvl requirements for Chancing?
No idea
Hey guys, how everybody is doing? I'm trying to do a melee fire witch, trying to do some synergy between the mace and fire spells, or maybe using the spirit from infernalist to summon minions.
But I'm having a bad time creating that synergy, you guys can help me somehow? I thought about maybe something that converts my physical damage to fire damage
i got 2 rare rings with 4 affixes, they can be exalted twice... is there a way for me force a specific affix on it?? like with essence or some way i dont know about?
can someone link a fairly knowledgable fire sorc build if possible? im strugglign way too much D:
i doubt there is one i got the mana to es amulett 2 times on level 20 amus
that's good enough for me ty
and considering any base no matter the item level cost 3ex on those i would say it would be save to assume chance orbs dont care
Hello!
I have an mind over matter invernalist build. But i kinda want to pivot to a chaos inoculation setup with shields. I got earlier today some equips that i thought might help in this transition. But im kinda afraid to invest the gold on changing many nodes in my passive tree because it would take some time to grind the gold back. Specially if the "new" setup is not up to par.
Can anyone more knowledgeable in these witch builds help me out? im happy to joing a VC and screenshare.
I would really appreciate the time and help 😄
How mutch Es do you have ?
when you equip your gear with your MoM setup, if you have EB just despecc it to tell
thats the thing. i could have more, but i havent respec my nodes yet. i would like someone to VC and check if what im about to do is fine or not
Like or calculate your base ES value from your gear
ive placed the gear im planning on using (havent changed the body armor yet) and ive got 470 Es. Mind that in my current tree i havent selected any Es nodes yet
i feel its too low
thats why im afraid
What class are you ?
Quick question, is there any inherent stat gain as you level, outside of gear/passive tree?
Like do you gain 10hp per level etc
i dont know if all the % form passive tree would scale that
infernalist
So you dont plan on using the life reserve notes ?
And to you have a tree planned for the transition
is it ok for you to join a vc? feel like i could show you what ive got for now
sure
Whats the best build right now for warrior
Cany anyone please help? I dont know why I can't use this maul. ( I do have the passive node that lets me dual wield two-handed maces )
what is CI?
So lets say passive max 2500 hp you can get from just leveling up, + focusing strength, and some random talents.
So apparently u can get 2 ring/1 necklace that give 200 hp each.
This necklace, perfected blood, also gives 20% max hp.
And Koams heart, a chest, gives exactly 1000 hp.
That combine with the 8% +30 hp u get from campaign, and 9% from blood mage.~
+3% from that one talent that increases max life.
The about, lets say passive max 2600 you can get from everything else.
lets say u get +100 life on everything other item slot else, + focus/shield (you can get max life on a one handed weapon too right?)
So 4700 + 40% = 6580
Seems about the max hp you can get before overflow, I'd guess anyway, taking out those jeweled sockets from the passive tree, whatever they do.
If there is % max life from jewelled sockets, lemme know.
|
I think is the maximum possible life, for a blood mage, before, passive jeweled sockets, whatever they do.
Am I missing anything?
EDIT: Learned you can get "grand spectrum rubies, that give +2% max life, per jewelled socket from passives
Can we get 200 hp each on amythest rings? we still need chaos res right
6580 seems really high to me for some reason
I think its really hard to stack HP
Your probly right though
I think the highest ive ever seen was like 4800
where you get 48%
grand spectrum is limit 3
and only gives stats based on other grand spectrums
Anyone know if the self fire damage from Pyromantic Pact would count as a hit for this? 🤔
**4700+88% = 8836
If we cant get as much as Im saying, 8000 for a conservative number**
question for the
enthuisiasts: at which point was taking polymathy worth it to you?
looks like u only have about 500 str based on ur gem availability and u need like 520ish..
could somebody help me out with my build direction? https://discord.com/channels/174993814845521922/1319666566710956032
Depends on if that damage is counted as a hit or not. My guess is no but ideally that effect doesnt happen very often anyways, right?
I'm stacking max fire res and life regen so the self damage is actually rather negligible
Somewhat often, my totems are fairly mana costly
Since I'm stacking +gem level
I guess I could always invest into the node and check the numbers myself I just need a few more levels to do so
Hm.. i think you could test via character sheet "dps" if you dont have any other damage buffs from taking a hit
yeah fair
We're like kids in the 80s that had to test whether they could put metal in the microwave or not
where does melee dmg come into play when it comes to attacks? my primary dmg skill is ice strike, which converts 80% phys to cold. I figure I should prioritize stacking elemental/cold dmg and make sure i have high phys dmg on my weapon. But not sure where this increase happens or if its worth it for my plan
As long as the source of the dmg is melee tag then this will be increased damage additive to other applicable increased dmg modifiers
hmm so worth it since my primary attack skill is ice strike which is melee
yes
i like the cluster for the attack spd and range as well
IAS seems good for ice strike to make de freeze happen more I'd assume
ias?
If I'm using totems, and I have a passive node like "Damage penetrates 15% fire res" does that apply to damage dealt by my totems too?
increased attack speed
ah, yea that's what my thought was
seeing everyone sell things strictly in divines is like watching people try to deal strictly in 1000$ bulk sums
yes
atp I'm assuming the 1divine is basically saying "offer me something"
lmao
no joke
why do you think they and the chinese are so...business oriented with these games?
I seriously feel like almost all of these asian named traders are literally employed to do so
like making paychecks doing this
completely irrelevant to PoE but asian culture is just different than the west
what makes level 14 ice strike in particular so strong?
I think its just implying you swap to ice strike at that gen level
had a thought about Doryani's Prototype for Stormweaver spectres. Since getting two good Ventor's (for negative lightning res) is both crazy expensive and makes building resists really hard, what about using Conductivity + Shackles of the Wretched? Witch gets nearly 50% curse effect from the tree easily, + 10% quality + 25% from heightened curse.
, can someone send me some marauder builds and links for pobb
in terms of why, could be a lot of different things - your pathing for this particular build, or other support gems become available, or you have access to something you didn't before etc
I recall leveling monk being mega ass pre ice strike. Melee is really strong but till you're able to freeze everything you're only able to give mobs a tap here and there while spending all your time back pedaling
Sounds like a cool interaction, I guess it would depend if whether or not Doryanis takes into account for the curse -res or checks for the value beforehand
Hey not looking for build, but for general idea. What we do with skills with half conversion, since you cant really invest into one of elements, or phys
ice strike is basically where melee comes online
till then, people like raxx have suggested playing them like a ranger
Lean into attack damage or melee/proj dmg would be the easiest answer
since you get scaling either way
or like 2h damage
etc
i was disintigrating everything with my glacial cascade build i freestyled
(atleast in cruel act 2)
attributes and jewel slots
i was getting my ass beat a bit before that
Orb of storms video says lightning spells but the descriptions says skills. Does galvanic shards trigger orb of storms? Trying to make a lightning gemling.
I've always wondered how far you could push dipping into other class nodes. That's just nuts tho, it doesn't look efficient at all, but I guess it works cause that build is broken
here's mine
What build are all the stormweavers using? The ladder is full of stormweave
chronomancer with monk nodes
yeah monk is very strong when it comes online. I teleport everywhere instantly 1shotting the screen basically
I'd trust the tooltip over the videos
Try it and see but I assume it's all skills with the lightning tag
i wish people on the ladder could list their social media, I wanna see what they're doing
if i take this and i have pure evasion boots does that mean im getting no effect from it? since there is 0 armor on the boots which would technically be the lowest
Correct
dang, ok
is there a way to see my total freeze buildup for a particular skill?
i don't see anything in the skill info window thing that i can expand
How do I put a skill into a support socket?
you just drag and drop it
Really? I tried it and it won't work
what are you trying to put
Is 35 max ms on boots?
up to 5% from the vaal implicit as well would make it 40%
but GL
lol
Which is the best DESTILED for galvanic mercenary? Any can responsse me please ?
Speaking of galv merc, for the crossbow what would be ideal weapon prefixes? %phys, added phys and added lightning? Or is element % dmg > added lightning
what is a last good support gem for lightning arrow? I dont struggle with mana and want more raw damage
where can i find a monk ele build
lightning infusion probably assuming your bow is all phys
Quick question, is there any inherent stat gain as you level, outside of gear/passive tree?
Like do you gain 10hp per level etc
I thought about using avatar of fire, it'll take me 30 to 40 points to get there from witch starter point, tho, it'll be useful for the skill points and str scalling health with infernalist passive, I'll be using a mace and shield, using magma shield and infernal cry. I want to focus in fire damage and ignite for it to let me cast and fight decently.
Energy shield and armour for defense and maybe minions or harald of fire and things like that, being a spellblade/battlemage, it'll be a hard investment but I think it'll work well, could someone please give me some tips or something like that?
