Bad thing tho is I have 1 weapon skill set for xbow shots and 1 for grenade...so one of them has to go on the weapon set that's for boosting grenades and lose out on the xbow shot boosting weapon skill set D=

But as I mentioned it makes 0 difference between switching ammo types
Because switching weapons takes animation time anyways

It's definitely faster and less clunky than switching ammo mid fight

You don't have to manually reload after you load up the first time it just reloads itself once you run out

Fellow gemlings, what are you guys doing to survive hits? My damagebis great. But the fear of a 1 shot makes all the leech and health regen and health on hit feel useless
Especially with the way the passive tree is set up with the weapon set passive it seems like they really wanted you to be able to switch up how your toon plays mid map so you can go from aoe clear to single target etc on the fly, it feels so freaking amazing

main stat for your archtype > stat you need for gear/gem
that's literally the only priority for mainstat afaik
So unless you need the int/dex for something to equip atm, prolly go str

Just keep pumping str till you run into "not enough dex/int" for something you want then get some to be able to equip that

You can basically just equip all the armor bases that only require str I think? so you shouldn't rly need int
you might need some dex here and there for some items as you level but you'll figure it out as you go
I just go back and swap those passives to the other main stat I need if I'm short a bit for something, otherwise all Dex as a Merc
End game you'll probably want to be running ES evasion armour bases
So you might need dex/int for that
But I suspect they'll do some balance pass to defense's in the near future
He's like lvl 20-30 atm tho I think he can basically just stack str and ignore the others for a week or two eh?

You'll see what you need for int/dex as you go, specific armor types etc...or you'll add too many support gems and need some dex/int
changing the passive main stats in your tree is easy, you don't have to remove all the nodes you can click it and swap it from one to another individually

What does it mean for persistant buffs to add a support gem that says "While Supported Skill is Active" for something like Lingering Illusion, does that mean i'd get the benefits at all time? Or would it just be when an illusion is up after I've dodge rolled? What about Herald of Ice: one of the suggested support skills is "30% accuracy while the supported skill is active", but there's no active part, is that 30% accuracy at all times, or just on the actual ice explosions

Fire damage inherently has a chance to ignite

@round saddleYou're right swapping weapons is about as slow as reloading ammo but it's easier and less apm haha

Your chance to ignite/shock/chill is tied to how much damage you do
So there won't be a fixed chance for any of them

If you want to ignite, then chance to ignite works well. You probably just need to deal more fire damage
Ailments are sort of convoluted and not very straight forward

Yeah as I mentioned ailments use elemental ailment modifiers. Their actual chance depends on alot of things
While bleed is static

So the game can't give you an accurate chance to ignite.
In poe1 we generally used third party tools like path of building to calculate it for certain scenarios
But they're still in development for poe2

that's Increased Damage so +2 skills is probably better if you have like +100% Minion Damage already on skill tree
+2 level will be better. The 50% will be additive to the 300% you're already getting from your passive if I'm not mistaken. Meanwhile the +2 will buff all their base stats

okay i'll try and get some minion skills with resistances if i can find it.
So if you only took like +50% minion damage so far on the skill tree, you'll go from 150% minion damage to 200% minion damage with that helm. But if you're already at +200% minion damage you're only going to go from 300% to 350%

for anyone that hasnt tried them, the ballista skill on xbow acts as a pet with high aggro
its extremely useful on ranged
They also do so little damage it's not worth dropping most of the time

4 sec is kinda not worth it, if you are there you are in a deathloopn anyway. Only usefull for the doggo imo to make sure 20% dmg reduction is up
the 4 sec is pretty good on Reavers I think
because they'll be at high rage on those 4 seconds
hard to argue any other minion then arsonist on a full minion build atm
like they are so cheap and do so mutch dmg
Some people swap from Arsonists to Reavers on some bosses; I am doing this rn but I can't tell if I actually like it or not
vs some bosses it actually just means your minions all get wiped in 1 blast
dunno i am at t15 maps and my arsonist melt bosses faster then anything else
And the rezz timer is kinda a non issue against bosses you can wait and just dodge 2 more attacks.
Minions dieing only becomes a problem for me in breach where you get swarmed if that happens
For witch, if I get talents that increase my chance to ignite or damage i do to ignited enemies, will it translate to my minions?

I'm having a TON of fun leveling with these minions but I am not really seeing a way to make them viable for pushing high tier maps... I'm also new to PoE so I'm probably dumb
does Momentum work with Flicker Strike?
Its viable belive me, scaling minions into late game is possible and very simple
you get +2 Minions on Amulett +2 on Helm and +4 on scepter
and you dmg will be insane, i run around with just 1 5 link still level 18 still so i didnt hit my dmg cap at all. and i even scaled back dmg because tankyness is the bigger issue in high maps
And when you become ritch you scale spirit on your scepter, and amulett too

lucky is 2 rolls pick the best as far as i am aware so nothing to do with block cap

no you understand it wrong its gets tested to times against your 90% block chance and it picks the better result for you

No it has absolutly nothing to do with the % it asks: without lucky : do i block ? Roll % no you dont block. If you have lucky: do i block ? roll % no , roll again % yes. So it gets rolled twice, effektive its a better chance then yes
i think i had around 30k hp when i tested, but ive seen skelly with 50k i think

Think Im starting to get this version of my tank build down. Love how different it is than my monk. Resonating shield to AoE shred armour. Infernal Cry to AoE set the group up for Sunder ( which auto crits fully broken enemies ). AoE takes out most groups.
Shield charge is a great opener as alot of times it threshholds atleast one enemy which also allows me to spam Boneshatter which itself can take out groups. And then i have perfect strike for big single target damage
And detonante death works on minions work and thats 20% too. So maybe when the conditions are right its fine
Crushing Impacts in Titan warrior ascendancy makes Bone Shatter impossible. I feel like the Ascendencies are very early access. A big lack of synergy with both Titan and Witch ones

ignite magnitude. thats the meme build im leveling right now and it is ass. im using the boots that drop ignited ground equal to 10% of your hp since you can at least get the base damage on that up. but with BIS gear its gonna cap out at like 2k dps. it is not good and never will be. see the video i posed above not too long ago

mapped with it until t10 or something like that

when you are at t10 maps you will have it
there is a very powerfull helm too if you dont need a helm for your build
I'm running +2 minion stuff rn in the helmet slot + resists and Mana + ES
and a amulet but that one is like 40ex

i doubt at this stage the build is the problem, i would put in controlled destruction while leveling in your main spell. But i would assume better gear will help you more then changeing your passive tree

I dont know what clickbaity sides you are at mate but minions are strong, and easy if you dont know what you are doing
minions are numerically strong but can be very weak because they don’t all always hit
I noticed quite a few people in the market list prices just to check if people will try to buy them and then relist over and over

they die and get caught on terrain etc

I tried to convince him to try out gemling because I heard it was basically the strongest subclass in the game, but he didn't want to give it a go because he heard it was really complicated to play merc.
The only acendency i would recommend to stay away from are blood mage because is very scetchy and Gemling because it can be complicated

Maybe down the road if warrior gets buffed, but yesterday warrior became so frustrating for him because it felt underwhelming that he was legit going to take a break from the game when it's only been out for a week.

Been building a 1h mace / shield warrior. Able to tank 95% of damage via resonating shield, gather enemies together, resonating tears their armour and builds my rage, this sets up infernal cry and sunder for huge AoE damage obliterating any groups.
Also use shield charge to set up boneshatter spam and perfect strike with big damage buffing supports for anything that needs extra oomph

the plan here is to set your hp kinda low, and get a big pool of energy shield now you have low hp the % drain is kinda small and you can get ~50-100 hp per spec flat from gear

3-4 is kinda hard to get, and the point of ppl talking bloodmage bad is because the first ascendency can be kinda a trap, and tier 2 maps are nothing to measure a build against

i'm not exactly sure what you're asking. it makes them deal damage faster, dealing more damage per second but over a shorter duration, for the same total damage.
but that es and evasion is so far from the merc tree

I think max stacks is like 3/4
for example if it makes the duration go from 4s to 2s, it will effectively deal 40% of the hit's damage for each of those 2 seconds. that way it deals the same amount of damage at the end, just faster.

Depends on the weapon. At high levels on weps with high base phys, probably! But at low levels, storm rune does a lot more

1-20 light averages to 10~ damage. If you convert 40% and the iron rune adds an average of 30 phys damage, thats 12 lightning.

both leech and gain on kill fall under the umbrella term of "recovery" though
So it really depends on the weapon. If you have a high tier bow that has a high Adds # to # phys and no %phys, the iron rune is almost certainly substantially better
On the other hand, if the bow has a 80% increased phys on it but no lightning nor Adds #to# phys, you might be on the other side of the fence

Just figure out aprox how much damage the 20% adds(dont forget to count only whatever % is converted), and compare it to the 10 average lightning damage from storm rune.

Im not too worried that it's not the best. But I'm already leveling with the frost build from pre nerf, luckily I wasn't very far into it so I'm following one that currently works. But I'm hoping it's good enough for mapping to make some gold so I can respec later to a more meta build

It's not very good by itself imo, great with ball lightning for the shock though
