better to do a slightly lower tier waystone map with a boss just to get more waystones than to do lots of maps at your waystone tier upper limit

bosses drop items 2 levels higher than the map you're in

so if you're really struggling with a t5 map boss you can still do a t3 map with a boss and might get a t5 waystone

I would say you need to be specialized, choosing 1 main skill to deal damage, either Essence drain (dmg over time) or Hexblast (hit dmg) (both combo nicely with Contagion) and then build toward it

and I doubt DDead would do much damage

ddead avtualy seems to do more damage than even hexblast in a lot of cases. its usualy what i wind up useing on tough rares. been using essence drain and chaos bolt at a distance and hexblast once they got close

Can someone ELI5 what happens when the next reset happens? This is my first ARPG and I have so many questions:

1. What happens to my character - does it just disappear?
2. Can I still play it after the reset?
3. What items/ currency do I lose?

No, it doesn't disappear, yes, you can play it. You don't lose anything, it just all gets moved to a separate league - instead of Standard, it will go to 'Early Access Standard', and everything you had will be available there.
However, most prefer to play within the new league, so you're likely going to have far fewer players to trade with.

Or trials of Sekhemas for relics to either use or sell, and ultimately farm jewels from.

Correct. Weapon 2 will only use your main points (that apply to both) and 2nd set points.

Allowing some set 2 points to apply to set 1 (like attributes for example) would be a free lunch as you could include a different attributes spot to the corresponding set 1 point and get a free lunch. No free lunches.

pob really is an amazing tool

I use it always for the trade function, though I usually tweak things in the search afterwards because it might miss stuff like resistances you need from that item

also be aware it will go looking for the same type of item, so if you don't care if it's a wand or a sceptre, it will only search for a wand if it's comparing it to a wand for example

Future-proofing, in a way. PoE1 also started with 4 slots before they had anything to put in there, and eventually they added fragments, scarabs and other items that can be put in alongside maps to add or enhance content in them.

It's good to get pts for breach and delirium trees early and take the splinter related nodes. Those splinters sell nicely

Especially delirium splinters are more consistent since you can instil cheap ire emotions on waystones

Breach - Activate the hand and sweep the breach zone like a radar. It lasts longer the more you kill enemies
Delirium - Activate the mirror and kill as many enemies, including regular map enemies, as you can before the delirium ends for more rewards
Emotion instilled waystone - Permanent delirium in your map, minus the final reward
Once you gather 300 splinters, it will become a whole thing which you can use on the realmgate near home in atlas map. That's where you get the atlas pts

Ritual - Get lucky and Audience with the king or a valuable omen shows up. The valuable omens are related to XP, corruption, chaos orb, or orb of annulment. If you can't afford, defer it. It will become slightly cheaper when it shows up again in another map, which you can defer again if still too expensive. You can use Audience on the realmgate

Yes, it's best to activate delirium mirror before you start clearing the map. It will be harder tho
For breach yes it's better to clear map first. Aside from not having extra enemies with no extra reward messing around during breach, you will also be able to strategize your sweeping with the map already visible

Expedition currency is a little complicated to explain. There should be a youtube guide somewhere. Logbook L:79-80 are the valuable stuff, which sells for more than half a divine in trade chat. If you opt to use the logbook instead, you'll be taken to an expedition only map with high number of bombs. L:79-80 books have a chance to spawn a thing that when detonated will let you fight a boss that will give you expedition atlas pts and some other valuable uniques

I'd recommend using the official PoE2 wiki over at https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Splinterheart, as the numbers in your image don't match up with the current ranges for this unique.

But also, Vaal Orbs have the outcome of rerolling all affixes (only numerically, same as a Divine Orb) and then increasing or decreasing them by a certain amount. It may be that you just hit that outcome and ended up with a higher increased Physical Damage than before.

You likely had an old Splinterheart, before they adjusted a bunch of the uniques. The Vaal Orb rolled the Divine Orb-like outcome and rerolled it into the new range.
