Yup, Every time my skills freeze it generate energy. When the bar is at 100% it uses the skills on the gem.

because with 3 comets socketed you need to generate 600 energy (assuming no cast speed/energy generation modifiers) which means you need to freeze enemies a certain number of times (60 normal/30 magic/12 rare/3 unique)

Ok I'll explain : When I first got this spirit gem I thought it uses all of your gems so to test it I put all my comets in my normal sockets and turn them on my set. So if I'm not fucked up it should be that my actual comets socketed in the second cast on freeze are only applied on set 2 as it's saying "No socketed skills" beside being 3 comets in. I'm going back on console controls to see

You can equip a white spear and use rake + stomping ground +brutality (don't even need to upgrade rake), go entirely strength nodes on the tree, and beat act 2 no problem. On any class.

You'll probably want to equip other gear, but you can do it with a white spear

Example:
Enemy hits you for 100 base fire damage. With 75% fire res you take 25 damage. With 72% res you take 28. 28 is 12% more than 25

For how hard it is to get a stat like "10% less fire damage taken" elsewhere, it's almost mandatory to get that 3% res before you work toward any other defensive bonus

It's not mandatory, but you'd be hard-pressed to find more power than "10% less fire damage taken" for the effort it takes to get 3% fire res

should also taken into account that you can get debuffed for resistances so getting more than 75% res might be handy in some situations

because if you are at 72% and get debuffed for 20%, you end up with 52% of res which is basically you take around 2x damage of what you would take with overcapped resistances

for campaign though its not that destructive, but in endgame might become a pain

Hello fellas! I just wanted to make sure, should I keep on going with my Ele Lightning Spear Amazon? Got to a2 and it's really hard to go past it since there's barely any loot, aaand my damage sucks, I haven't changed my spear since the beginning of a2 and I'm level 30 now [ 8 lvls of using the same spear ], takes quite a while to get mobs killed, the spear has 50 pdps, 20 lightning dps and 1.75 aps, with a 30% proj speed implicit, sorry for the long text, just wanted to know if it's worth continuing it on ssf

I'd say try working in other skills if you're still in early a2. it can be hard to rely on only one skill that early. for me that early I was doing lightning spear, but also whirlwind strike, twister, parry, disengage (forget the name) and barrage. then I paired it down to a pure lightning spear build around 1/3 of the way through a3

so I'd say stick with it, and move some stuff around to use the full huntress kit until lightning spear can carry you

Yes and no. Essence drain has two components:

1. A spell projectile hit that does chaos damage.
2. A chaos damage over time debuff that it inflicts

Damage over time cannot benefit from "gain as...", so it would only raise your hit damage of essence drain, which most people care 0% about

Hold alt and read the "gain as" tooltip description on the passive.

Yeah, the rods are very helpful. It looks like lightning arrow fires beams at 2-4 extra targets and the beams chain two times each.

Lightning rod lasts 20 seconds and can be chained to 8 times.

Assuming your lightning arrow shoots beams at two targets and the beams can chain to targets that the other beam has already hit, you should only need three rods to maximize dps.

Firing one lightning arrow eats six of the 24 total chains the rods can have.

So you'd want to fire three rods for every four lightning arrows on bosses. Scattershot on rod might be worth it so you only have to fire once, but at the cost of a lot of rod dps

with ingenuity and cdrr nodes, you can get it down to around 25-30s cd pretty easily. I don't find it very useful unless you're playing a build that has a super duper wombo combo and/or you're cheesing as much duration as possible to trivialize bosses in a party.

I used it when I made a bow chronomancer. I would freeze time, throw down a tornado shot behind the boss, activate barrage, and then charge a perfect snipe to nuke rares/bosses

I'd also recommend a weapon swap for your curse + time freeze and get as much duration as you can with those nodes

B. 33% chance to ignore CD and add in a second essence drain setup with hourglass support for bosses/rares. and maybe even a second contagion with expanse

Life and resistances are the standard for most builds.

Whatever gets your resists capped most easily. You'd still have to roll large quantities of fire res to cap the other two. It just helps take the pressure off, it isn't a replacement entirely.

im running into mana issues with the lighning spear build, doing thr act 3 boss right now and i keep running out of mana

I think for bosses or single targets, most people try for a different ability than LS. Something like primal. But at your level range, finding some mana regen helps. Could be rings or amulet. You're probably not very close in tree pathing so probably easiest way is mana regen from gear. Or just use mana flasks. Decent rolled flask should be enough for campaign bosses.

I've put through about 15 characters through campaign, I'd say smith with rake+stomp might be easiest to start. You literally don't need any special gear other than strength. Smith can use plain white armor

when playing huntress, is the parry ability/empowered attacks really worth to play around? or can i aspect into other parts of the kit and kinda ignore the parry. asking cuz the parry seems to be introduced as a core part of her kit

they somewhat backtracked around it (theres other ways to get frenzy charges early on now) so i dont really think so even in early game; late game you have easier frenzy generators so definitely not there

early game i think its just parry and then the culling strike one, later on you can get them just by doing electrocute/freeze

Orb of storms and lightning rod are good bossing abilities. Weapon/dps wall is certainly another factor. If you can't get a drop from enemies, vendors can sometimes have something good. There's gold gambling too, may get a decent rare bow. Adding sockets and runes makes a big dps boost too

Such indicators only show up if you have a skill to which such distinctions are relevant. It could be that you no longer have the skill that was causing this to show up, such as Tame Beast (because you used it to get a Companion gem, perhaps).

There aren't repeatable world events or anything like that. Campaign shouldn't require much farming. And if you've never done them, do all quests. Every little boost helps and there aren't that many.

I know the events aren't repeatable, just don't know what you'd call like the sarcophagus that gives you a ring every time in the cemetary and stuff like that. Just would be nice to know what each thing actually gives you so I know whether to look for it or not.

With POE2 we dont have anything set in stone. So far the new league was an economy reset and core/base game content. Eventually I'd imagine it will move to the POE1 standard of leagues every 3-4 months with their new mechanics and challenges and fresh economy.
