It depends on what you're giving up. If you're losing life or res to get dex, eg, then that's a bad idea. Unless the dex lets you wear something with enough defenses life/res/ms to counteract it

you dont care about armour/evasion/energy shield for most of the campaign

life and elemental resistances are far more important stats

Pick thing at the bottom to make the next room harder. Beat the room. Repeat. In the fourth room you fight boss. If you win, you ascend (assuming this is your first time here).

If you die, you can restart if you have the quest version of the "key"

Viper is a weird exception I've realized. Armour counters viper like cold res counters geonor or lightning for jamanra

armour is useless except when it's useful

energy shield gets good as soon as you can find a good way to solve the slow recovery of it, but you wouldnt go all in on it if you cant find a reasonable way to scale it, like if youre on the opposite side of the tree

Viper kills you through loads of small hits that can also poison. Armor helps in that fight twofold

it helps to have a bit of armour to mitigate phys hits but outside of that its not very useful

Reduces the damage of the small phys hits, which in turn lowers the magnitude of the poisons

and evasion is fine, but ultimately if you dont have enough life to survive the hits that do get through it doesnt really matter

Sekhemas is more straightforward, number of ascendancy = number of trials on the barya

Chaos is any # of trials below 10 is 2nd ascendancy, 10 trials is 3rd ascendancy, and collecting 3 different fragments of a key to challenge the Trial Master himself is the 4th ascendancy

And in the future, content will be specific to a league and you will need to start new characters to participate in it.

of course it's not that easy to find good gear from drop / npc
it's better to trade with other player to make your life easier
if you want to keep using your current weapon anyway - at least quality it to 20%, and socket 2 physical % runes on it, that will drastically improve it's dps and allow you to have enough time to kill the boss

You're basically correct except for this part.

44.4% damage added as chaos is way stronger than 44.4% increased damage. "increased" is additive with all other sources of increased. Then all those added together turn into a giant multiplier. % added as extra is sort of a multiplier on its own. It's additive with other %added as extra, but your total %added as extra is a multiplier with everything else

I do not think any incremental amount of armor or life would have save you. Act 3 gorilla boss is designed to one-shot players for the slam attack. It is a well telegraph attack and you will need to dodge roll it to prevent getting one-shot. One of the usual trick is during the telegraph is that the player will dodge roll to behind the back of the gorilla to evade the slam.

well im running huntress and got the amazon ascendency and got critical strike, adds extra accuracy to crit chance, so extra 25% crit chance. I then have passives that increase crit chance to the point it triples that 25% to 75%, also one passive adds one flat +1% crit chance, tripled again. Then tangtongue has atleast 15% crit chance, if you got good orbs, you can prob get better one, and that is also tripled so 100+ crit chance. Though I think mine is a little less than triple since over 100 is useless

I've not personally experienced this with Chaos Bolt. Some skills do have the tendency to lock on to enemies that I'm not targeting, but I've seen this more with Contagion as an example. Generally, skills should be targeting either your cursor, or the enemy you've namelocked.

I've tried virtually every combination of graphics setting, upgraded graphics drivers, disabled sound via .ini file, i get the almost the exact same performance at every setting, everything is fine unless i am moving (lol) or have too many monsters on screen then its a shit show

Regular maps, for the most part, use existing assets and enemies from the campaign, but remix them in various ways. Many tilesets look completely different, have different layouts, and different bosses. Unique maps, and the Pinnacle content for the current content - Breach, Ritual, Expedition, Delirium, as well as the Trial of the Sekhemas and the Trial of Chaos, as well as the current core Pinnacle Boss - can have completely new boss fights, zones and encounters.

Depends on the player, really. The unique maps can be done very early on, since you just need to run into one of them on the atlas, but the endgame bosses and encounters can take a while longer. I don't have a good estimate, unfortunately, since I never track my own time, not to mention that I'm not really a new player (not to mention that you could have a powerful build and progress really easily, or a weak build and take longer).

Swap between them and see how they affect your DPS on the skill screen, it's usually accurate enough as far as base damage is concerned.

How does conversion work exactly? If i have a skill like PStrike that turns 80% of its damage to fire damage and i have a passive that adds 12% of physical damage as extra fire damage, the extra fire damage i gain is only for the 20% phys portion of the attack, right? Meaning conversions make this completely useless? Because the tooltip does seem to feclect that

I'd probably lean into it being more of a grind. For most of the league mechanics, you need to collect enough shards to obtain the key to do that Pinnacle content, or get lucky enough to get an Audience with the King from Ritual or a good Logbook in Expedition. The core Pinnacle boss technically only needs you to do 3 specific citadels before you can try it, but those citadels can be very, very far apart, so it can take a long of wandering about the atlas before you're able to do the fight.

Damage conversion on skills happens first, then the rest of it. If the node specifically grants Physical damage as Extra Fire, then yeah, it would only be that remaining 20%.

the main thing it gets you is a way to inflict all ailments, but if you're only scaling lightning damage it may well be a dps loss.

As for the acts, we don't have anything specific yet, other than it being likely that the Acts will be released one at a time, so Act 4 could be coming as soon as the next major update.
