She does like drama
Not off the top of my head, but Maxroll.gg usually has some.
But I'd recommend trying it blind your first try, tbh. You can only experience poe blind once and poe2 is as about as approachable as it's going to get.
Hold alt to read more about underlined keywords, read stuff as thoroughly as possible, and you should be pretty much set
poe2 is much, much friendlier than poe1 in terms of just logging in and playing without a guide
okay ill craft my own build then and see how that goes
ill stack as much attack speed as humanly possible
if crossbows sound appetizing, i'd suggest to click mercenary, and figure out the rest for yourself as you play the game.
maybe some ricochet action for fast clears
but someone earlier said something about all characters being able to use all weapons and all skills is that true?
wouldnt deadeye holding a crossbow just be better in that case?
It is. Ascendancy nodes/skills and starting position on the tree are basically all that delineate the classes
So yeah, I would read about the ascendancy options. Hell, titan might even be able to get the most attack speed
He has a node that gives 50% increased effect of small nodes
damn
Hulking titan is great fun
So that's a lot of bonus attack speed, depending on how many attack speed nodes you get
ok cool ill go read all the ascendancies
but to start, the crossbow stuff on the tree is closest to merc start
alr
Also, there is a node that grants attack speed based on your accuracy, so stacking accuracy can also be a path to ludicrous attack speed
ill mercenary and craft my own build
Oooo
you can build it with anything, merc is just the path of least friction
Both Merc and Rogue are good at crossbows, you don't need the specific crossbow nodes to get fast reload, attack speed increases both reload and attack speed for crossbows
Yeah, one very slight difference between classes are their starting attributes. Merc starts with higher str and dex (which is what crossbows require)
But only by like 5-7
So you can remedy any difference in a couple attribute nodes
what's a Rogue? 😉
Isn't that what the class is called? Oh no wait it's ranger
its ranger yeah
we're going to have shadow soon TM, which is similar to a rogue
Rogue is Diablo, that's why I'm teasing you 🙂
"soon" like 4-5 months?
Huntress is the soonerest one, according to viper
Maplestory then
this sounds straight from tiny rogues
proceeds to list every rpg that includes a rogue class
Is there any way to make a skill not knock enemies back or reverse the knock back direction?
I don't speak English a lot so I confuse words , both start with R haha
hey does anyone know the path of exile 2 file size after its downloaded?
rogues arent really a class they're just the ''cool'' characters
in some games rogues are rangers, in others they are thieves and assassins, hell, ive played some games where rogues are freaking magicians
(baldur's gate 3 is the game where rogues can be magicians)
All good. I'm in Mexico for a work trip and I can understand full-speed Spanish worse than an 8-year-old
after install? 88GB for the standalone, not sure if the steam client is different somehow
My first language is Gaelic but lived in Asia for 16 years so mostly speak Japanese and mandarin
so the game is 88 gigs?? usually after installation they shrink :(
Dope
Beautiful city, beautiful country. Sorry for derailing
here you go you're welcome
I'm the only one providing direct answers in this channel
Not at all, too cold tho haha
😭
(I was apologizing to everyone else lol)
Think it's mostly sleepy time for most people
GRAHHH too much space for me, thanks for answers
How to hide the Poe1 channels?
Dont want to see them when I search.
Poe1 is dead to me. Long live 2
what are frenzy charges?
after reading through mercenary ascendancies, i feel like Gemling Legionnaire is decent and Witchhunter sucks
If you're ingame you can hold alt and click on the underlined keyword to read more
no im not ingame
They don't do anything on their own, but they can be consumed to boost other skills, essentially
im doing research on what class is the most goofy fun attackspeed
Gemling with the double innate attribute bonuses + dex stacking + attack speed per accuracy sounds pretty solid as a foundation
Or titan with the extra effect of small nodes
Tho do keep in mind you'll have to figure out how to pay the cost of the skill you're gonna be firing at 300rpm
I'd recommend getting path of building
oh nooo 😭😭😭
There should be a link in #other-news not too far up
If paying the costs is worrying you, you may want to look at infernalist. They have a unique way to "pay" for skills
hold on is there a flamethrower or laser build?
There's a spell called incinerate which is basically a flame thrower
Lightning conduit or arc would be the closest to a laser, I think
im gonna go learn the game now
pick mercenary and craft my own silly and probably horrible build
Gl! And again, I highly recommend path of building
thank you ill use it if i ever decide to follow a build
can we spin the camera in this game?
like in V rising where you can hold left click to spin the camera
Nope
You can zoom in a bit and that's it
I tried grim dawn a while back and you can spin the camera in that game, but it was so jarring and weird that I unbound the keys to do that
okay i love that we can move the character with WASD to utilize the mouse entirely for aiming
spears out yet?
i kinda hate top down games where you have to move and aim and do everything with the mouse
back to the depths I lurk
If they were, they would likely post in #old-game-news about the huntress being released or something
yeah we are pass that point if any ARPG ties everything to left clicks it's not worth playing
PoE2 is good but currently there's nothing for me to play in it
I like bleeds, poisons, spears, and axes. bleeds and poisons are fundmentally broken and spears and axes currently don't exist
This is a new player campaign channel
okay the controls are awesome
ah clicked the wrong channel
they feel really good especially being able to move and shoot at the same time
the arrow hitboxes and stuff also feel a lot better than PoE1 with its needle hitboxes on the arrows
Why do you think poison is broke?
How to turn on damage numbers?
There aren't any. They don't want it to be that kind of game. Closest you get is damage numbers above boss health bars like in Elden Ring.
Oh alright
fresh experience playing an ARPG without damage numbers :D
..
i love how impactful the crossbow hits feel
feels like im holding a call of duty gun
even the way merc holds the crossbow and aims it is like a call of duty M16 aiming pose
how to trade anyone?
Okay, spell slots not being tied to item sockets feels fucking AWESOME
It's very much about using skills that work together well. It was a pain to ammo swap early on but I used permafrost bolts to freeze enemies and fragmentation rounds to explode them because it gets a massive bonus to frozen enemies.
Buying or selling?
buyin
Not entirely true as you can see your damage above the health bar when you damage a boss
Which I said. In that message.
Its a questions channel. Please don't clog it up with every little thing.
sorry
Find what you want on trade website, click whisper button, if they invite you to party, go to their hideout, pay them. Buyer always goes to seller's hideout.
Who initiates trade request btw? Looks like seller does? They usually have already sent it when my loading screen into their hideout finishes
Usually seller.
yeah, usually seller, because they may have been in a map or something and need time to get the item. As a buyer, you're expected to have the currency on hand by the time you accept the party invite
I went with armor piercing rounds instead because haha attack speed go brrr
instant regret this thing does less damage than my grandma's kitchen spoon
I was just giving an example. Read the skills. Armor piercing rounds are good for breaking armor, which sets up more physical damage against enemies.
Many skills aren't just inherently damage dealers. They need to be built around with support gems and passives and gear or need to be used in conjunction with other skills.
guys any idea how i can fix game crashing when loading character
Would anyone happen to know, can you only do the trials of ascend on one character? I just finished the first trial on my main, my 2nd character is at the same point, so I should have unlocked it but I didnt get the unlock quest.
You can do it on ALL characters.
BRO
Go to Traitors passage you might have forgotten to kill the boss that drops it
JUST DROPPED THE ITEM I WASTED 1 EXALT ON (im poor first character)
Thanks 🙂
You need to kill Balbala there.
Would be silly if you could only ascend on 1 character 🤣
which act gives us our hideout?
None.
You unlock it in maps
(endgame content)
I found a way to make swapping ammo early not a pain
my mouse has 2 buttons on the side which can be used to comfortably and instantly switch between 2 ammo types
My mouse does too but only allows forwards and backwards navigation on web pages. RIP. Time for a new mouse
you can bind those keys in game
in any game
Hmm
they just default to forwards/backwards in web browsers
Anyone got a POE2 code lol?
Like an invite code?
yeah
its $30 dude
broke rn
And I fail to see how this is our issue
hahahaha
just play poe 1 my dude
i have extra code
Unpopular opinion
ive played before, wanted to try poe2
Go read #rules-and-info
Go find a corner and do a job
itll be free by the end of the year
But corners always pay
Sometimes you get a bonus. Like hiv
🤷🏼♀️
ok have fun without me
Will do my man
Magic launch box and a bottle of wine in hand
Pc is loaded Poe is loaded. Now time to find out how to bind these keys
i have an old magic launch box , doesnt work well anymore
That’s sad. Write to them
was great little vape though
My buddy has had one for 15+ years strong
yea i stopped smoking so i havent had a good reason too
I mostly vape cbd
had the power adapter and everything
I need that in my life
its great, mine stopped working but i had the early version
We’re talking weed
there are tons of scammer out there
No reason to post that here.
Just report them.
did report just wanna others to watchout
u think report may do something? like return to the victim?
cant relate, i just swap with mouse clicks and some specific times i need to press q to reload
wich is 90% optional to be fair
as a deadeye ranger I find my staff pretty useless, because my bow gear has the +120 Spirit, and that's where I get all my kills from the 3 or 4 buffs I have. when I switch to my quarterstaff I lose a TON of bonuses. seems kinda useless to have that secondary weapon/shield/etc..
not really a question, just having a secondary weapon (via the 'X' key or just firing it) doesn't seem very useful yet; or I don't know how to use it. all my attacks are bow so far.
i find it very usefull on crossbow
are you using elemental dmg?
so
u can put a +5 lightning wand and a +2 all spell shield
and put a curse on it
then u got higher level curse on 2nd weapon slot
then u can also split your skill tree
for curse
example
hmm interesting. i will have to explore the splitting a bit more I think, thanks for the advice. I noticed tonight when I switch weapons I don't loose ALL my spirit like I did last week when I switch weapons. odd.
i am coc build
so i have main slot meta skill stuff
and 2nd slot for curse and stuff
yeah, I think I need to find those little off-shoot skill trees that don't branch out further than just that offshoot.
what is TFT?
gonna google that now also. Any ideas what level a player commonly completes act 3? I'm lvl 43, still working on the Large Soul Core in JiQuani's Sanctum.
ok, hehe. gotta plan out my nights/weekends for the next month or so to balance this game with hiking and whatnot 😉
in normal?
yeah
you are way overlevel
figured
u die alot?
not particularly. Just on bosses maybe 3 times until I'm about 4 levels above the boss then I can defeat them.
usually I clear the whole map, yep.
unless it's 4+ levels below me. I try to only clear if I'm getting 1.2Million XP per hour.
yeah I'm sure it's my build issue, heh.
yeah
i throw down Orb of Storms, lots of lightning rods, and lightning arrows as my main attack.
i am doing like
10 level underlevel maps
just to level up
huh
how are u unable to kill
LA builds are the easiest to level
and clear
without any good gears
did u follow any build guide
watched various youtube videos, but most of them assume you are in end-game with 6 support gem slots in every skill. haven't found a good noob video yet.
i've only just started finding level 2 support gems.
no. not sure where to find a good guide.
is blood mage any good late game?
i'm doing mostly +10% attack and speed on the tree. not sure how to distribute my stats well.
a link to a good build guide would be most welcome.
yes bloodmage is good
just follow the end game guide u are following
but make smart pathing
like get more dmg at the start
so u can clear campaign
ok
u are RANGE
danke. gonna head to sleep, thanks for the quick advice 🙂
yeah, i do need to figure out how to better keep gems in my inventory to swap out during exploring versus boss fights I think. and better swap out defences for fire/lightning/cold attacks.
Is there any advantage to putting on a bunch of "+chance for rare items!" gear for repeat runs of an area?
no
ok
Any reason to do Freythorn in cruel act 1?
how many acts are there?
I see
cruel is placeholder for new acts
What is a good level to do second ascencion?
I'm level 38 already got the key to enter
yeah
u should be able to clear
K ty
yeah chimeral offering
I could use some help actually
dm me ur ign
I have seen a lot of stuff on Reddit about invisible aoe effects one shotting people in maps, is there a specific tier this starts on? Or does anyone have any more information about it, I'm currently on T10s on HCSSF and not having any issues currently but want to move up to T15s
any
Ah ok so it's not something that's related to a tier
Finally moving up to T11 then
Can anyone suggest some end game passive nodes to reach for on a titan, I'm really struggling where to go next other than the small boosts to armor or attack
Fyi, the Story obtained Invitations for Ascendency 1 and 2 in normal are 'reusable till success'.
You can just try, try and try again till you get good mods and win.
Only if you want a 'act tier ritual', else it's save to skip. (No extra spirit)
Are you on act1 cruel.?
he has a noise cue when he does his one shot move
it is not too bad when you have that move downloaded furry ears
First boss in a new act, make sure to check your resistances cause they were reduced by 10%
(Each act eats another 10%, so -60% Fire, Cold and Lightning Resistance at Endgame, to force you to keep your gear up to date)
Hello guys, quick dumb question "+# to Stun Threshold" means it will take me more to get stunned?
I don't really get the meaning of it
Stun treshhold is based on your HP unless you change it. Stun treshhold basically makes it harder to stun as if you had more HP. It's mainly important for lower HP builds. For CI builds which only have 1 HP, you usually take passives to base your stun treshhold of your ES instead of life.
I personally imagine the stun check factor as: (life + stun threshold) * life increases * stun threshold increases
which often simplifies to life * stun treshold increases for very vanilla characters
makes sense! thanks
I'm not certain tho, cuz the tooltip isnt in the game yet
Does stun treshhold get boosted by % HP increases?
And from personal experience, there might be some bugs here too.
Na, prolly not, unlike what my math dictates
but there's so little %life in the fashion I play the game, that it barely matters
The main point is that I believe flat stun treshold is added to life, and then the stun is multiplied by increases
So likely rather
(((Life + Added Life) * Life Increases) + Stun Treshhold) * Stun Treshhold Increases
Yea
On a tangent, I can't run stun build-up map mods for shit. I don't know what's wrong with that.
I even had Unwavering Stance (double stun threshold) and it didnt make a difference
is pain offering random?
A random mob? It might be your 'cursor target'?
i thought it was on cursor but its not
Hm, most injured? There's some brand new targeting stuff in poe2
Some people hate it, some people love it
Remember there is a stun immunity charm and evaded hits dont stun.
nah all minions are full and i hovered over a skele warrior but a seperate skele warrior was used
Clearing a map relying on charms is not how I play the game, certainly not with the current death penalities. Besides, the charm only works after you've been stunned
Saw a guy actively laughing at how bad it is. For me it's more about getting the charges back before I get stunned again that I don't see happening.
its based off per hit so even if you have a lot of stun threshold 20 small hits will still do more stun buildup
more single hits you take the less stun threshold works
multiple belt slots with same stun charm?
With lots of well and a decent speed, where you get stunned a bunch still. Yea, it could maybe work. Tedious as hell, probably.
some charms you can have more than 1 charge per
Yea, the problem is that once it runs out, it takes forever to fill
rarity you cant and dunno about other "immunity" charms
You really don't get the same number of flask charges as in PoE1 and the charms system is kinda using that same system
With all that said, I'm penalizing myself through ssf, warrior, armor and stuff. Hardly very meta
that was my og char
doing my own sunder aftershock warrior with regen as my sustain lol
I'm just doing warcry + bleed sunder, it's pretty clean for t15 ssf
But this idea of armor makes no sense
armour is trash
they need to update their code for it or add other damage mitigation ways outside of block
I pretty much benched my endgame char when I realized armor is bad. I've been trying to play the game blind for the first 2 months
They did, just not in the direction we expected xd
168 hours all blind (not following any guide)
I'm prolly at 400+ I imagine
Vast majority of that spent in the campaign, cuz that's what I find more enjoyable
no they didnt. they increased all armour by 15% that includes enemies armour but the formula for armour doesnt work
even with tonnes you get ohko still
by random rares
The armor formula in poe is damage/(damage+armor*5)
In PoE2, that number is 12
is T1 better or T5 better
this is in the witch tree
in poe2
Recovery is not an issue
Rather being in melee
You feel like you need some extra for being in melee against trash
just showing examples of how the tree for warrior doesnt have much for defence compared to witch tree
Bosses are rares have been rather irrelevant. But what do they want me to do with armor in a ritual lol
Shit spawns on you and hits you
im not in melee range since i use the aftershock of sunder and ancestral warrior totem using armour breaker
i dont get too close unless they run at me with haste
I wouldnt mistake recovery for defense if I were you
what if you dont focus much life regen
you're reliant on flask
And leech
with recoup you get some of the damage you took as life back over 8 seconds
if you focus leech
but leech is an offensive defence
No, it's just a recovery mechanic
which scales with damage from the mod on weapons
Never really been a factor for me, and I'm wearing a lvl 50ish weapon in t15s
But I mean, there's recoup in the warrior that's again based on armor
if you dont wanna run giants blood or a shield/1h you cant use block
The problem is just the armor, and shouldn't be overanalyzed until that's out of the way
those are the only recoup
Though, I gotta admit that chaos damage is way more rough as a warrior
for warrior
yeah those plants that do the homing chaos orbs are annoying
Don't mistake that recoup for the other, because it's based on prevention which should be much higher in a properly balanced game
But if they fuck up armor to the point of irrelevant, then it's obviously trash
Hell, they might nerf that warrior recoup once armor is in a better place
small nodes are just "damage recoup" for 12% then the 2 notables are 15% recoup for phys and elemental
But you don't flip the formula here
Looking at what was mitigated vs what was dealt to you
Yes I know
My point is that the prevention one should be multiplied by something like 9 in a lot of cases once armor is in a better place
anything i might be doing wrong when trying to buy a breach tablet? I've dm'ed like over 50 people and no one answers
that's 135% recoup
should I specify something? I'm using the whisper option on poe trade
yeah the numbers im not on about im just on about the lack of defensive options in warrior tree. if you dont wanna play shield then you lose out on block
people have this listed 10 min ago and wont answer
I imagine you're buying stuff that's too cheap to be real? Not sure tho
I have poor experience buying anything for 1 ex. Try setting a minimum to 5 or 10?
it be like that. you're not doing anything wrong its just most people have a dump tab which has the same price listing for it all depite the items
You're not doing anything wrong, Poe trade just sucks
they put items in and if people message them quickly they ignore and raise price
but like
No one is bothering to stop for a few minutes to sell a 1 ex item now unfortunately
why would this guy NOT sell
Play around with the minimum and figure out what works. Once you start getting whispers.
Simple as.
You can go to the TFT discord where there are bulk sales sometimes
1ex this late into the game most wont come out of a map for
I cant really go and give 5ex into a tablet ill get broke
yea ive started to realize people have lots of it
5ex is nothing for most people
I rarely drop currency 😭
im brokie
https://www.pathofexile.com/trade2/exchange/poe2/Standard/3ZgkvOZc5 bulk trade here might give you a better chance
Why are you broke? Low hours, bought something?
thats why you dont use tablets everywhere you find somewhere new with multiple towers all close together then you do those towers taking the shortest route and put tablets in those then farm the maps around to get that currency back
I played on launch, have around 90h
but I never understood how people farm so much cuyrrency
i have 168 and played at launch im sat on about 60 ex total
Yea i've watched some videos and im trying to do the closest route to put breach tablets on the towers
You sell 1 item, apply it to something you find a valid currency strat, like a breach tablet. Get a little fruther. Invest that and get a little richer
so I can try and farm some gloves i need
makes me feel better
looks like everyone has thousands haha
I gotta look for some "valid currency strat" I have 0 clue on this
it shouldnt lol it was meant the opposite way. i have more hours and still struggling to get currency. im only in like t9 maps also. and you have less hours than me
I just farm maps and catch the loot
I mean, I like to figure this stuff out myself. But if you need to know now, then by all means look something up.
essence farming you cant go wrong with lol
i sold a greater essence a while ago for over 100ex
i got that greater in the campaign
I don't think it's any secret that everything involves breach atm
I'm doing t5 maps still 😄
I'm completely clueless on most of the endgame, thats why im a bit lost
GGG has some weird mentality where you aren't allowed to get proper currency until t13 or some shit usually
I need some gloves that drops from the breach boss, thats why im trying to get breaches
if you have higher tier maps you can run those and it counts for the progress and higher tier maps can give more rewards. the atlas has increased rarity in maps also
which give every map a base rarity chance
have 100% rairty on gear
well thats nice to hear, just need to keep grinding then
and play 5+ hours daily
yeps, you need to progress into endgame before you think of grinding anything really
hmmm i can try this, i have some t6/t7 but i was afraid i could die and run out of maps 😭
Since I have a full time job this is very difficult haha
That said, that mostly applied to PoE1. Don't expect insane levels of currency from higher maps. But you will find better rolls on items. Have you even seen a Tiered rare yet?
ive had my only divine drop from geonore cruel and ive had a perfect jewlers orb from low level maps with less than 80% rarity on gear
i did! tier 2 rares, when i identify them they dont look very good tho
if you die once then you drop down a tier
i dropped a perfect jewelers in my campaign hah
6L in t14s , vast majority of exalts from maps
but also just because you did die that might have been an enemy with a 1hko mechanic or specifically a hit that is against your worst resistence/defence etc etc
Yea I mean i usually can tank pretty easily, the issue is "random 1 shots"
And try to imagine that GGG didn't want divs at 300:1 or soemthing dumb xd they probably expected 40:1 lol
i was just saying it is possible to get higher currency at low tier maps. rare asf but possible lol
you and 80% of the rest of us lol
Oh true, but currency drops are not how you turn a profit
If anything , they're a starting point for something
And once you do get started, you start seeing a lot more currency drops, but that's obviously not a helpful way to look at things immediately
i wasnt saying currency drops for profit i was just adding to your message that its not t13 as its rare but possible at lower. but essence is which i mentioned to them
im gonna look how essence farm works, u got me with the 100ex sale
i don't think farming currency should be the goal. Especially if you're new to the game you got much easier and more fun goals you can do
thanks for the tips guys
like fuck up jamara?
little bit too easy goal tbh, maybe one of the easier pinnacles first?
I mean I could go and drop the item myself but that seems very hard
Tier2 rare means they you cut off some irrelevant number of mods, so it's practically a normal rare item. At the higher tier , you cut off all bad mods.
was a joke because im about to mess him up with my army of minions XD
So you can see how this is more valuable in higher maps
you better not die 🧐
Hope it helps, I don't play trade league myself so it's all I got
i was afk typing in here both times i think im good XD not my first playthrough this witch is an alt
If I was playing trade league, I imagine I'd make way more profit from Chaos Orbing random items that people couldn't figure out how to improve
@last jewel anyway, if you set your goal to get to t15 maps you'll probly drop few divines on the way there so you don't really need to grind for them
yea guess thats gonna be my focus
thanks!
this is a level 30 alt currently in act 2 normal lol
100 of these deaths were to act1 boss on launch 😭
overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
you have another 85 hours on that char XD
I had lots of fun playing melee!
i was replying to their 300 deaths because im on a new char where they are on their 90 hour main lol
And expect a lot more rewards in endgame over the next half a year, at least if you're in a place of confusion. Because currency there's probably a few good strats, and once there's way more strats, it becomes downright simple to make some baseline amount of currency
Typically the meta strat gets toned down, and the rest gets brought up
yea i mean i thought i was in the endgame, but "endgame" is really the beginning of the real game isnt it
the meta will be ever changing at the start of the updates
they add more and new uniques
skills
supps
that will change what items are sought after
endgame starts somewhere when the maps turn red
Yea, I was talking about rewards, not power
ill get to higher tier maps b4 i think about farming currency
yeah i am too when they add new stuff in there will be new things to farm which can/will shift the meta from what it is now
breach and ascendancy running seems to be the most common atm
I was just puzzled by why you mentioned supports and stuff.
its all indirect if they add a new chest piece which boosts a specific skill and seems good people will focus trying that out which in turn shifts what rewards people want
Depends on how you view it. In PoE1, the game is all about blasting through the campaign without a care and get to the real game.
It's less of a factor in PoE2, partly because of where the time was spent on things. I'm really enjoying the campaign myself, but you need to be okay with low rewards, because it's more of a pregression system than a slot machine.
I agree the campaign is more interesting, I'm not the guy to really dive deep into the game lore, but this campaign is more enjoyable than poe1
If you tag on ssf and HC, and reset between characters, it's practically a custom made roguelite
i stopped at t9 maps because i would do 1 map and quit the game out of boredom. ive started an alt minion and been on it for 2 hours currently this play session lol
oh, i think im not at ssf level, i wanna get to the "real endgame" first to get more knowledge idk
Why do you reckon the boredom kicked in?
If i get stuck ill get bored quick i guess x)
the lack of content from some maps/layouts
Na, that's okay , but it's something to aspire to if that's your goal. Or if you wanna be a trade-baron, that's your choice to.
yea i played like 80h first two weeks, finished campaign and then started playing again few days ago
Yea, I'm the kinda guy who would rather randomly find a breach than know it's already there.
with me being only at t9 maps loot and such is trash and i dont like the mechanics in the game besides essence which isnt in every map unless i get an essence mod on a boss tablet
i dont like all the mechanics even in poe 1 i avoided breach, strong boxes, sanctum, bosses, excavation
Tho maybe that's less of what you're saying. I'm not as much against the layouts as many others.
so im limited to pretty much corruption/boss/essence
Eventually, we're gonna get some high fidelity leagues in poe2, like Betrayal/heist. Gonna be awesome.
not all layouts but for my sunder warrior the small tight spaces like crypt and such ruin my build
Didn't matter much to me, but I do recall that expedition is fucking annoying in narrow corners.
i prefered the more casual stuff like delve and blight
I'm a puzzle guy in all aspects of my life xd
i always got fucked over by expedition, delirium, breach in poe1 so i avoided them
i was a RF enjoyer so those 2 content was pish for RF jugg
So
betrayal board: Yup puzzle
Rog crafting: Looks like a puzzle to me
I dare say I know everything
i have 600 hours in poe1
11k
and besides essence farming, delve and blight the other mechanics ive mostly avoided
(harvest only at the basic level)
Hopefully you went where the fun was, and not just the currency
That's what I hope for everyone tbh
The game can trick you into thinking something is fun just because it shits out currency
essence was 100% currency delve and blight was my fun i always had 1 focused for fun and 1 for currency
That's where GGG got this fun idea that people loved Ultimatum xd
so times i did just delve/blight id do blight for fun and delve for currency
since fossils and resonators sold well
Yea, delve can be meaningful in ssf, which can be enough sometimes
i joined at the end of that league then the next one with the arena was my first full league on rf jugg before rf jugg variant was nerfed heavily
But I definitely hate the azurite events, and I think PoE2 endgame is just better than delve already.
aul drops amulets fairly often and they was worth 15+ div at minimum
i didnt mind them they was just tedious but thats where the money was at you use azurite to buy resonators to sell for chaos lol
That was my earlier point about fun > currency
at 800+ depth t3 azurite nodes was so common i could to 4-10 in a row at a time
and as i responded i had delve for currency and blight for fun
or in other leagues i did delve for fun and essence for currency
Right, but why don't you try to use blight for currency too?
I know it's possible and it's what you find fun
because my pc couldnt handle blight ravaged
Got it
so was mostly glacier map farming essences with a 95% chance i got a blight encounter in there also
that wasnt tedious doing essence farming in same map
So you're not finding a lot of content fun, and technical limitations prevent you from having fun in that which you do. That's awkward
ive not been back to poe1 since nov which i only played 2 days of lol
No, but it can be repetitive.
Not a lot of variety when doing that
i have a new gpu so i expect blight ravaged wouldnt be as bad now
Obviously, we all have different requirements for levels of variety
yeah i probs would enjoy other content but i cant learn mechanics from YT videos they dont always answer my specific adhd brain questions
guilds never seemed fun as group content isnt fully liked in generic play
What the stash tabs should i buy?
Did you consider learning mechanics from the reveal videos? That's practiclaly what we OGs did - would be light on spoilers too
premium/quad if you wanna sell items to people. currency tab is a must
There's a stash sale if you can wait?
If you wait for the next stash sale, which happens regularly, I reckon you get like 30% more bang for the buck
Ik, i’m just asking which to prior
im not bothered about spoilers but it was my fear/annoyance of crafting that made things like expedition and jun/syndicate stuff seem too in depth for me to learn about on my own
Got it
if i couldnt buy what i wanted i was screwed
I usually just make due with whatever random shit I get from harvest plant rerolls
even the harvest bench outside of changing essences it seemed too convoluted for me to wanna get into learning
Grab a mid ilvl base, roll some harvest Defense on it, get like 250 ES hat and cruise to endgame with like 6-7k ES
Once you've done it for all pieces
Maybe that's the core of the issue
or armour focused
Melee is in a better state in PoE2 if you ask me
yeah the options for classes/builds i liked the look of in poe1 drastically reduced my playtime
Practically wouldnt know what to do in poe1 SSF with a melee character, other than throw everything at a weapon and hope to get lucky eventually
PoE2 has so much lower requirements for a melee build its insane
ive been RF jugg and another ascendancy variation i cant remember the name of it (not invoker) BS jugg and EA champion
Try a trickster sometime , it's a breeze
dont plan on going back to poe1 now with poe2 out lol
Heh, same
and last epoch update round the corner
That said, I have 11k hours in the game, so I'm just done
ngl last epoch crafting system for a noob is the best in any arpg (poe1 is best overall for the amount of crafting options)
It usually goes hand in hand with not being as appealing to veteran players
LE needed to add random stuff like exalted items and other superior systems
there was a lot of hype on LE launch a lot of bigger YT/streamers played it and it had a lot of users on steam but the end game is lacking which is what this next update is aiming to revamp
so maybe that will bring some vets back
Oh definitely, but keeping them around is hard without having the traditional grinds
If you have something that new players can succeed at, you usually need a tiering of systems to engage with, like Primal Legendaries or whatever
i have 437 hours in last epoch since 0.9 launch would have more if end game was better lol
the skill system is top tier also
Overhauling the endgame as an indie studio isn't an easy feat. And designing good bosses is even harder.
the amount of options and how drastically some perks can change a skill
XD they arent no indie company no more lol since 1.0 they doubled their workers
is there a trading discord channel?
Fair, I guess I'll not cut them that slack
I reckon you're looking for that sketchy PoE1 discord?
nope dont im not no more. i have super high hopes for 1.2 release and if its a dud ill refuse to play it
the forbidden trove
It's got a bad rep, but it's where people go for this stuff.
Despite of whatever rep it might have.
whats the name
its a whole other discord server called the forbidden trove. its exceeded the invite limit so you will have to manually look for them
Aren't you setting yourself up for failure here? Keep expectations low in general
not if going off their past releases on an older engine is anything to go off this update is gonna be awesome
I hope you're right. Anyway, I gotta bail. Thanks for the chat
u 2 i should really fight jamarna now lol
why in hell does game keep sending me from artillery tab to ballista tab
without my input
buggy as hell
won't even let me read the skill
i wanted to get the full idea of what sgt turtle and immoteph were talking about, so i scrolled up and up and up and yeah im not reading allat
sounds super interesting tho so that sucks
I have cleared the entire map - nowhere else to explore - but map hasn't completed? any ideas why?
how to see my flat dmg?
if you press tab, doesnt it say how many monsters remaining?
Which? Overall, just on your weapon, etc?
First-time player here. Never played PoE either.
Just finished my act I with warrior, it felt pretty good and on-spot challenging, however I don't have any comparisons as I've never played other classes.
Your commentary made me rethink if i wanna keep playing it.
Is it that trash? I mean, I don't care if i'm kinda stuck and need to farm some hours to get past a certain boss. But if it is REALLY unbalanced and the game brute-forces me to farm for several hours then i'll definitely change class.
it's not trash, warrior is not the meta pick but it can one shot endgame bosses and it starts getting good act 2
around act 2 you get herald of ash and now you one shot everything on your screen then you need to decide which direction you want to go for your ascendancy
I don't know the damage formula, but the one that is increased by the passive tree
Thanks for your input!
I would use the DPS in the skill screen. Still far from perfect but the best we have ingame right now unless you want to use POB, which many of us do.
playing titan summoner on hc lol
on the ladder lvl 96 rn been fun
By that you mean the class is viable?
yeah sure
I guess you are a really experienced player by doin that feat
aint no gemling tho thats the meta
big damage there
can do all the content but cant break the game
Warrior and more specifically mace skills are slow. Much slower than anything else in the game, so people write it off. But once you get momentum going with the warrior he can destroy shit. I'm using resonating shield to break armor. I have a support gem that causes explosions when their armor breaks, and armor broken enemies receive guaranteed crits from sunder. I break them, the explosion kills a lot of the smaller enemies, and crit sunder wrecks most of what's left. It isn't super fast zoom one button clearing, but it feels chunky and awesome.
That's fine by me. I just wanna enjoy my first run at this game. Thank you guys.
titan is a good ascendancy, tho
to be fair my warrior is only at act 3 because my friend said the first ascendancy was too hard so i had to prove him wrong
its solid for alot of builds
died like 100 times on act1 on my first char playing melee
so fun!
cuz of hulking form
50% more effect of small passive skills
20 more bag slots + 15% more life is nice too
i think the point is that you are not locked into warrior as much as you think
Early it's rough but once I hit a rhythm with rolling slam and got herald of Ash in act 1 things started to pick up and feel much better.
yeah
i mean u can even use caster gems
if u have enough int etc
i wasnt warrior, but i think its a bit like this for a lot of melee builds, very hard 1st act, but once u get ur main stuff it gets fun
herald of ash is awesome
That looks so fun! I'm sure my ""build"" is much weaker, but stun + boneshaterring my mobs feels good and not weak or unbalanced.
Yeah on Monk once I was rolling with falling thunder and killing palm my clear got awesome.
Primed for stun + boneshatter is super popular right now. I went my route because it seemed like less people were doing it and after 3700 hours in POE1 I don't like to follow the crowd.
I mean I just did it cause it appears on recommended and didn't yet know i could choose other gems for my skills
Thanks, will stick to warrior
Lets go
If i'm forever-stuck I'll complain with u
lol
XD
we'll fix your build when you get stuck 😛
And it's in the worst shape It's likely to ever be in. GGG tends to make good changes and improvements over time reliably.
hi, how are u selling your uniques?
disenchant
thx
Most uniques aren't worth selling to other players if that's what you mean. Certain ones are very valuable though.
ye
but u can sell alot of stuff not just uniques
pretty much anything on that site, but u need a premium stash tab to do so
and u can download an extension to make price checking easier
it changed my life if im honest
poe overlay?
exiled exchange 2
ctrl alt d on the item and it tells u the price
didnt know about this one!
sidekick is one and standalone
nice i will check both out ❤️
Do be careful, the price checking add-ons just check prices on the trade site and gather data. But people on the trade site sometimes list items for way lower prices than their actual value in an attempt to get people to list them very cheaply so they can flip them
Is there a good list somewhere of uniques that are potentially worth a lot based on rng? I've been checking them as I get them but I recently learned that some which looked cheap might be decent depending on stats and some can be corrupted to be worth more. Not sure where to begin other than just searching dozens of items
How do some players get 100 Skeleton Snipers?
I have tried a dozen builds, even replaced the +2 minion helpment with Alpha and I can still only deploy about 40 or so.
No one gets 100. You can get more by getting more spirit.
I dont think that is possible.
OK, one choice is to be a maxed out witch and get Bidet's will, but that still only adds 60 spirit
Which manes 44 Snipers, not 100
Then you've maxed it out. Minions require spirit. If you have the most spirit you're capable of getting, then your minions are maxed out also.
rgr
Where are you seeing 100 snipers?
A friend deployed them in front of me
He had to switch all the spirit gems off, but he did it.
That's wild. Seems extreme and not necessarily effective.
The only thing I know he had that I didnt is the +3 Sniper skill Jewel.
Agreed, I suspect what he did is to reequip the 100 spirit unique and fuck his tank in the demonstration.
Whereas my build with 44 Snipers is still more or less a balanced build.
Quality also decreases reservation if he had some source of that.
For Snipers, yes.
Actually perhaps he WASNT a maxed out witch, but a Gemling Legionaire.
What is test of will again?
I think they are swaping weapon set
It bugs out the number shown
But they dont have 100 snipers
If u set sniper to set 1
And swap
It doubles
But u still have same number
Visual but
If u have 44 snipers i think u are at end game
U should go other chat
lf area help pls
Dmed you
lf?
I'm in act 3, monk invoker. I already unlocked charged staff, but I was wondering what is the best way to set it up for now? When will I start dropping spirit gems level whatever I need for combat frenzy?
For now, without access to combat frenzy I've been using siphoning strike because it seems easier to me, especially during boss fight I can shock and gain charges more frequently than killing palm. How did you set up charged staff before combat frenzy?
Hi everyone. So I’m a D4 player, but have been looking at POE2 recently and have been heavily considering trying it. But I had a handful of questions about it. Would any vets be willing to answer some things for me before I potentially jump into it?
I never played any diablo before nor poe. However my friends convinced me to start poe2. They are diablo veterans and they said that diablo 4 sucks compared to poe2 . The best diablo according to them is diablo 3 and poe2 is at that level, probably even better
I never liked topdown games, but poe2.. woo boy! Made me rethink that. Now love this game!
Did they change the Divine Orb drop rate?
I didnt see any for my first two weeks, now I just collected my 5th one in 2 days.
its just rng
you can slightly increase the chances with more rarity mods on gear, but its still just rng
Automatically sell all weapons without + skills?
Yes
how do i fix this?
Text disappeared out of the blue and i can not pick up anything from the ground
i relogged and reset instances and nothing
changed ui scale and nothing
Reset loot filters ?
Hold alt
Or press z
press z
Igdanduk, The Bog Witch in Act 3 drops a spirit gem guaranteed
im on console..
Its probably L2+down arrow
So here’s me questions:
-
It’s currently in early access. What does that mean exactly? Like, what’s available to play and what isn’t? Is there a campaign to play through? Is it complete? What are the endgame activities like?
-
Does the game have seasonal content and is it currently doing that or will that start after it’s fully out of EA?
-
if there are seasons, do you have to make a new character every season like Diablo?
This isn’t meant to be a “what game is better” thing. I just simply only know Diablo so I’m curious as to how this game compares in terms of content. And I’m curious as to what state the game is currently in vs what it’ll be when it goes free to play and is considered “done”.
Its one of the interact buttons thingy on your hotbar
Is poe2 more similar to Diablo 2 or 3
- game is still in development basically. only half of the classes are available and half the campaign is available to play, the other half will come at a later date, they realised people would want an endgame to play through instead of just the campaign so they stopped work on the rest of campaign to do endgame stuff altho that does mean the endgame isnt as polished as the campaign
- yes, theyll start once the game is out of early access
- yes
d2
SOLVED
Cool
there is a "toggle visibility" (eye icon)
i will unbind it, lmao
must have mis-clicked it
whats it bound to by default? just for future reference
well, i logged back in and changed the OG scheme
but it looks like this:
(the eye)
ok
my config was reset after patch
yeeeep same
thx
if ur rich gemling
Hey guys do u need to get stash tabs to play poe2 im a new player never played poe1 or is it not necessary?
but i think there are normal non uber expensive gemlin builds
you dont need one but you will want many
if u want to sell items on the website you need to buy a premium stash tab
quad stash tabs are really useful
currency tab
really good to have
you can play for many hours and not spend more money
There will be a sale around the 14th for stash tabs too
but u already have currency because u bought the early acceses
you have 300 tokens
or coin?
points?
idk
What’s the current time sink for what’s currently available? Like I’ve been playing D4s current season pretty consistently for the last like week and a half on just one character and still have probably another week or more to go to hit my end goal for things. Idk how the leveling system and all that works in POE 2, but how long would you estimate I would spend before hitting end game and having a pretty solid build going? I know that might be tough to answer.
spend them on 1 premium tab 1 currency tab 1 skill gem (or just gem) tab
while they are on sale
they go on sale really often
just wait a few days
@spare plank
yea thank you i need to think what version i wanna buy the standart or the supporter pack with the 300 coins but ty
tldr
you already have 300 coins from buying the EA pass
when stash tabs on sale buy
currency tab
gem tab
at least one premium stash tab
Can you even buy a version without coins ?
standard comes with 300
poe 2 is free to play so ur actually just buying points and EA pass
u also have those points in poe 1
and you will have the same tabs in poe 1 and poe 2
and skins
Is there a way to farm exp? Like the best place to do it? Also can I get boosted if I play with a higher level?
Staying within 3 levels or so of the zones you're in nets you the most XP. There isn't really power leveling because if there was you'll just be undergeared and underskilled anyway.
Hey, where can I check my own quarterstaff dps to compare with this?
sidekick for example, maybe pob too¨
will standard leagues reset eventually sometime too? like not this beta one.
afaik no
thanks
POE1 standard has been running for more than a decade. It's part of the draw of a league. New league mechanic, fresh economy, new challenges for cosmetics.
If you get the new challenges done in the new leagues, will that be transfered into standard league?
will what be transfered?
Cosmetics/stashes/etc are account-wide
Completing the challenges in leagues would reward cosmetics which you could use in whatever environment you want. In league, standard, standard SSF, league Hardcore, etc
I'd like to understand that "season reset" part of the game. How does that actually work?
You still have full access to your existing characters and gear in standard. League characters get dumped into standard at the end of a league, and league stashes get dumped into standard as remove-only tabs.
Ohh!!
Nice, I guess it matters most for more experienced players then?
I mean, I don't pretend to touch anything beyond standard anytime soon
When a new league starts (usually after 3 days of the previous ending), if you want to participate you must create a character in the league (no bringing existing items or characters or stashed items in), this is why people call it an economy reset.
Any stashes you purchased at any point in the past will also be waiting for you in the new league empty
We highly recommend playing in league whenever theres one available (there isn't one at the moment)
- More players
- easier trade (more players, fresh economy)
- Challenges (reward cosmetics such as armour set costmetic)
- new league mechanic (new toy to play with and get loot from/craft with)
Cool man, thanks. then I'll have to learn the game and get ready for the first league!
How long does a league usually last?
what do i do with uncut skill gems that i dont actually need?
Well you can put them in a gem tab if you have one, or just any casual tab, or just throw them out i guess
3-4 months. Though during early access id hope much shorter, unfortunately ggg appears to be treating their patch/release schedule as an already finished game like poe1...
XD
its only a level 1 gem and there aren't any usable level 1 skills in my build except lightning arrow and rod
might just get the contagion ability for extra dps
Yeah that could be an option why not
it's not so much a conscious choice to do that as that it's basically impossible to put together enough content for a major patch faster than we already do 😅
the goal is definitely to get 0.2 out as soon as possible rather than on a specific schedule
Yeah, i guess I was more soo expecting more frequent smaller patches to get changes out right away for whatever was ready
I'm not used to this league thing. So in PoE there isn't such a thing as pushing your character to the endgame limit? I mean, after you get strong "enough", eventually things will reset?
there is for sure, though most people reach a point where they are satisfied with their character and have minmaxed it to their liking somewhere within those 3-4 month leagues.
For like 1% or a bit more of players they might take it to standard and continue from there, but at that point the gains are soo miniscule and the standard economy/legacy gear becomes its own beast to work with
fair enough, that was our original plan but we got very negative feedback from the first few times we did balance changes in smaller patches, so trying to respect that where it's reasonable. still doing patches for bugfixes and uncontroversial improvements.
Nice
im just worried the month gaps between patches will extend EA a ton and also leave players with expectations of how the game will play only to drastically change them later on, but I am neither a game dev nor a designer/lead so il stick to answering random poe questions
yeah the league system is great. gets you to try out new stuff, and what better time to release new expansions than into a totally fresh economy
but you are a player, and communicating how you feel is important info for the devs
as some dev said: players are great at indetifying that something is wrong, but they are terrible at comming up with the correct solution
For example, if an upcoming major patch drops everyones damage by 30%, 300%, or 3000%, whatever it takes to make bosses in endgame not take 1 second to kill, I could see massive whiplash for a lot of people
what is the max level an ability could reach?
20 by default
Corrupting can push it past that to 21, but it could also lower it by 1, or have other outcomes
This is all before +lvls from gear
In poe1, skills scaled up to lvl 40
then they stopped benefiting from additional lvls. But realistically, most of the time if you heavily invested into the skill you were only reaching like late 20s or early 30s with a lot of investment
yeah basically you can "level it" up to 20. but then there are a bunch of currencies/item mods that artificially raise the level
and for spells, raising that level is very important
an average player will be hitting like lvl20-25, cos thats like a +1 corruption with maybe a +3 to 4 on one item
Poe2 offers the stupid amounts of additional lvls from weapons too for whatever reason. Like up to +7 from a 2handed melee weapon lol
I stashed them away so that when I start a new class, I don't have to wait for the random drops to get my build going. Very useful for that
Its also nice to experiment around the skills mid game to have these handy
but the main use for uncut skill gems is upgrading skills, right?
you can turn them into any skill at the level of the uncut gem
yeah i see
Skill gems can be used to upgrade an existing one or get a new skill
cool ty
For eg, if you decide to use contagion at a higher level.. You can use a lvl 9 skill gem to get a new lvl 9 contagion skill
Assuming you don't ahve one to upgrade
i shouldnt waste these things early game right?
i remember them being very important for late game in poe1
especially the golden one with 3 faces
I'd be conservative (but not fully stash them away) with regal orbs. The "make white into blue" and "add one more to blue" are very common and feel free to unga bunga it
alright
Transmute and augments can be spent pretty freely. You should be getting plenty from drops and disenchanting. Regals, save for blue items that already have two good mods.
Like if you see a blue item with one nice stat, augment another line to see if you now have 2 nice things on the blue item.
Got two very very nice thing on an item ? Regal and pray to see if you get even more nice things.
And so on
I have strong feelings about people that get upset over balance changes in an early access game missing a large portion of its final content, but I'll keep it simple and say that some of us understand the need for adjusting balance on the fly.
Transmute and augments are these, right???
Mouse over them and read them.
They're the ones that say transmute and augment.
If it turned a blue item yellow, it was a regal.

so i used a regal here?
Looks like.
yeah, thats about normal
Welcome to poe 2 crafting 🙂
not the end of the world. thats 10 rare item drops effectively
You'll get plenty. Just make sure you're salvaging/disenchanting plenty of gear.
wut
you can do that?
i was selling everything till now 💀
you get regal sharts from disenchanting rare items
and when you actually did want to use a regal in the future, its also completely gambling so chances are that would have been wasted regardless
oh i see
This is not a terrible thing to do. I usually mix and match, sometimes sell sometimes disenchant. Depends on if I think I have decent money or no
Salvage bench for gear with quality and/or sockets, disenchant or sell blues and yellows you aren't going to use.
I defeated the bog witch in act 3, I got the 30 more spirit. Now how can I get more? I see many builds on YouTube running 4 or 5 spirit skills, how can they get 120 spirit? I already know it's not from equip so definitely there is a way to get more permanent spirit
Gold is good too, so sell some stuff as well. Depends what you need.
40 more from act 3 cruel and more on gear.
Items can have +spirit on them. Act 3 cruel optional boss also drops 40
you can also get spirit on items
body armour, amulets etc
Does it mean I need to make another character in cruel difficulty?
Story gives you 100 spirit in total
no. cruel happens after normal
Cruel difiiculty is basically NG+ for the first 3 acts. They are placeholders till acts 4-6 is released.
No, you replay acts 1-3 at higher levels until they release acts 4-6 instead.
They can be if its a good base
actually they can be if they're of a good i-level and base type
Ah ok it's like Ng+ run of campaign?
And then go to endgame.
yes. the level is increased so you can keep gaining in power. and when you're done that you move on to maps
Basically yeah as a placeholder for the remaining acts until they're released.
Like if its a new weapon base that just started dropping id consider picking up a common rarity one to roll and see if i hit anything useful
I pick up anything with sockets to salvage them at the very least.
so only pick up commons with sockets, got it
im not gonna go around picking up every common i find, having to recall every 10 seconds sucks
Let's say you've only been seeing basic crossbows on the ground, then suddenly in a new area you see a new type of crossbow drop that's common, and it's a higher item level. even though that's common, I'd pick it up, throw some crafting gear at it, and see what I get
all items in this game are modified (rolled) from base types. better base types drop as you progress through the game and get to higher level areas
its ok
so there are some common type items that you may want to pick up, throw an aug/transmute at, and move on
if the common item is the same BASE TYPE as what you have on / a lower base type. then ignore it
even unique items (the orange tier) are just modified versions of a certain base type
I mean even checking vendors helps. In act 2 I found a white mace that was better than my rare just because the base type was so much better.
by base type you mean flat damage?
no it's the name of the thing.
Base type is the white version of the item, with fixed stats that don't change.
i see
A spiked mace will always have the same base stats as another spiked mace.
Crafting (such as it is) and looting yeah.
so for instance if we look at body armours (strength type).
the first type of body armour you see will be
Fur plate
Then as you get to higher level areas you'll see
Rusted Cuirass
and as you progress you'll see newer base types drop all the way until the far end game. these base types will typically have better and better stats than the base types from lower levels. so it's worth picking up common ones to throw some crafting orbs at
how do you salvage items?
Bench at the back of the town. Can't remember what unlocks it.
right now crafting is a little, to be polite, thin compared to PoE 1
but it's probably going to end up getting more and more things added to it
Yo guys whats the best class for solo players and starter?
starting I'd personally recomend a spellcaster of some type
