rn i prefer d4 crafting. the ability to reroll one prefix/suffix bonus greatly increases the amount of "usable" loot you can find, and the fact that you accrue reroll currency even if you don't find good gear makes progression meaningful.

Its really good. I don't personally know how they could nerf it and keep it useable. It doesn't interact at all with any payoff or utility skills so its basically only use case is right clicking and killing things. If they nerf that, its just unuseable as a skill.

if armour formula wasn't hard nerfed, then they would serve different defensive layers. Armour protects against small to medium physical hits and serves as mitigation. Evasion allows you to evade against projectiles and melee strikes, which is a form of avoidance.

Personally i much prefer armour, but it depends where you are on the skill tree. Unfortunately, they nerfed the armour formula from poe1->2 HARD. To the point where investing into armour barely makes a difference in your defenses.

You can only have one, and once a gem is corrupted you can't modify it in any way besides leveling it up. Usually +1 socket is better than +1 level, theoretically the best possible gem is one you get by corrupting it at full sockets already and getting +1 level or maybe extra quality, but that's a very expensive gamble.
