dependent, no. I haven't actually verified, but typically tier 1 waystones can drop up to tier 3. So you need to run a tier 2 and you'll see tier 4. You can get up to +2 to zone level by using the towers and corrupted areas, and those areas turn your tier 1 waystone into a tier 3. Then that can drop even higher tiers. Also, #2┃after-acts-help

it's harder than most arpgs, yes, saying "it's like dark souls" draws some unwanted comparisons I think. You will find the hordes of enemies gameplay as you progress but the difficulty still needs some work imo

if you're looking for a game where you are a woodchipper running over everything, I don't think they really want this to be that game and they will adjust the balance in the endgame to make it less like that I think

they are the rarest tier of items, they can have effects on that ordinary items can't have. This makes them very good but usually very situational, 90% of uniques are shit unless you're playing some weirdass build, 9% of them are pretty decent if you're not in a situation where you can't use them, and 1% are just strong and good for everyone

I should be specific actually. There are three kinds of hits, strikes, projectiles, and areas. Strikes are melee shit, projectiles are ranged shit, and areas are areas. Normally block and evade don't work against areas but with acrobatics, evade does work against areas.

However, bosses can also have completely undefendable attacks that are usually areas, they flash red when they do these abilities, and afaik nothing saves you against those

I did my own pconc build and its a super nice skill. Still killing rares/packs/bosses in less than 3 seconds on t10 maps.

Levelling was awful until gas arrow though.

Though at t8s i looked around to see what others were doing and i had a near identical skill tree to one of the popular ones lol. I adjusted mine to be theirs cause it had a better cluster of nodes taken somewhere.

you can play whatever you like, but Stormweaver Spark (so a sorceress) is currently by far the most popular on ladder due to how easy it gets its damage / scaling going, electrocute as a defensive layer, and easy access to stacking rarity

if thats not your flavour then dont force yourself to play it

Monk Invoker is very strong.

Quick question, Im playing a acolyte monk, I have some "gain % of damage as extra chaos damage" buffs, would the chaos damage from this scale with "Increased % melee damage" and/or "% inncreased attack damage" if the original source of damage had those tags.

For example with 10% extra chaos damage on a 100 damage icestrike would result in 10 chaos, 20 phys, 80 cold damage (80% phys converts to cold from skill). And a 10% increased melee damage modifier would put me to 11 chaos, 22 phys 88 cold or just 10 chaos 22 phys 88 cold.

hey hi so I'm currently a level 43 Storm Weaver running a lightning build. I was using Spark until I unlocked Warp and Ball of Lightning. I was clearing content fine (currently in Act 3 Normal), but I hit a wall with the Forgemaster. I can't deal enough damage to him, and I keep running out of mana (mostly due to Mind Over Matter). Spark is probably the strongest main damage skill for sorc, but I don't think it's the only option. I'm using fireball with frost wall personally which is a little clunky but fills the whole screen with fireballs which is fun and has worked well enough for me to get 4th ascendancy and do T15 maps

Sure, the boss damage certainly isn't very good. But I like the flashiness and the freeze and walls a long with energy shield being overpowered means I'm tanky enough to get away with low boss damage. I am trying adding Archmage to it for extra damage and shock right now, too early to see how that's going

For example, if phys is converted to cold... It's better to boost cold damage

I read this on reddit

Explosive grenades convert 80% of physical damage to fire damage. So iron runes will give you 20% increased physical damage each, which will feed into your grenades but also into any other skills you have.

The tooltip for poison says that physical damage and chaos damage from hits feeds into poison magnitude. So iron runes will also beef up that damage.

Iron runes are the way to go for the crossbow. For the gear, whatever resistance is lowest.

Hover over a skill, hold alt to inspect, then review the components of each skill. Gas grenade for example has the impact, poison cloud, and explosion components. Any underlined words will also show more detail if you hover over it, for example under the poison cloud component you can hover over the poison keyword and see how it works.

Says that I should still stack Phys, that way it will affect all my skills because I think Merc has Phys convert to Elements for every skill

conversion only uses the % of the RESULTING damage type. So %increased physical would not apply.

However, runes increase the phys% of your weapon locally, which increases your weapon's physical damage, and THAT is the stat that gets converted into other damage types.

so applying a phys rune to a martial weapon would increase the number at the top (the weapon's damage)
