as much as you can potentially 75% is the cap but it is reduced by 10% each floor so you need 105% to stay at the 75% cap on floor 4#

I understand for skill gems, each additional link via. jeweller's orb adds a link slot, but doesn't carry over from one orb to another.
But how about Weapons? E.g. Bow Shot for a Bow. If I enhance it with a jeweller's orb, it doesn't carry over if I equip a new bow right?

Is there any quick & dirty advice anyone could explain about identifying what kind of damage rolls on weapons are better?

In terms of, like

+phys% (I’m assuming still useful for all the elemental conversions on skill gems)
+flat damage types (ones you’re using being relevant, of course).

Just swapped my Crossbow with +phys% and +2 projectile skills for one with +phys% +flat fire +flat lightning and IAS and my damage increased significantly. I thought the +to skills would be better than the flat damage, tbh

Honestly the act one boss was a pretty good test of both skill and buildcrafting for an early player. It definitely made sure I knew what direction I wanted to take my character etc

Is it on the first phase? If so you might need to just get some better gear and learn his moveset. In terms of viable builds, there's a lot but a big part of putting it together is seeing what abilities synergise, what support gems interact in certain ways etc

Theres an option enabled by default called "level downscaling" or whatever. This scales your friend down to your level. Makes things feel natural like you are both at the same point in campaign.

If you disable it, it applies an exp penalty to the lower player. Does let your friend annihilate everything though. Idk how strong this penalty is.

If you get too far ahead in area level, then lower level players might start getting another exp penalty too.
