The difference I mean is like, If it's just a higher difficulty it would mean it's fit for characters at the same stage of progression, but played by better players. If it's new game + it means it's meant for characters who have finished act 3 and are starting over from that progression point.

if you read that screenshot, you'll see that the crit chance is 12%. The crit on the tooltip for the gem is 10%, so I have "20% increased crit chance" on my gear somewhere. 2% is 20% of 10%

Hey everyone. Been playing a bit since the EA dropped and I'm geniunely really really into it. Busy with work so havent played as much as I wanted, but a few weeks off now for the holidays and I'm about to no life this game. I'm level 20 currently, so very early on still. I'm having issues getting any sort of upgrades for my gear, last "drop" was at level 12, have seen maybe 1-2 rare drops since then and both were shields lol. Starting to struggle a bit, running the lightning arrow ranger currently. I guess my question is, where is a good spot to farm for any decent drops, or is there any other way to get good gear?

there isnt really a single best class

generally speaking rares and uniques are what drop more and uniques drop more the first time you kill them. If progressing further doesnt work you probably want to farm a boss you can reach and beat somewhat quickly that is close to your level. Any increased rarity stat on your gear also helps a lot if you can afford to equip it for whatever you farm.
If you sell gear for gold you can gamble to hope for upgrades in a specific slot where you have bad gear.
Remember to check the vendors after every level up. They often have good stuff

i’m a deadeye ranger got to the end of act 2 on cruel and kinda stuck on the final boss of the act
got the damage to do it but very squishy and wondering and my resistances overall are low
is it just a thing you need to accept as a ranger and stack evasion or what is the sort of recommended path to go here
not sure whether to just try farm gear for a while

You can reroll your dex into int with hooded man and that can take care of a lot of int issues you shouldn’t need too much as long as you keep your int based supports and skill (im guessing storm of orbs) low.
