you can assign a skill that is used with your weapon on the second slot, and if you use that skill, your character will immediately swap weapons to use it.
example: you have a 2h mace you use normally, but on the weapon swap you have a 1h and a shield. you put the guard up skill, and if you activate it, you swap immediately and use the skill to raise your shield

That's a more difficult question to answer than just "This or That". Damage mitigation is always a good thing, but the ratio of how you mitigate is going to change based on your playstyle, the skills you choose, etc.

If you're playing a melee character that's gonna be forcing his fist into the back of the enemy's brain? You're gonna want a lot of armor and evasion is kinda meh. A ranged character that's gonna fling arrows from afar? Probably more focused on evasion.

IMO energy shield shouldn't be classed with the other two, because it's more akin to having a second health bar. It doesn't impact how much damage you get hit by, just increases the damage you can handle

Whenever you get back on, you should be able to check it by opening it with the g key and then seeing where your skills are. If it’s normal skills missing, it could be an attribute problem. If it’s support skills (I’m not sure maybe also attributes? I don’t think they care about attributes tho)

Crossbow shot does nothing but shoot a bolt unless you do the electric support gem. Fragmentation rounds goes through enemies and shatters frozen ones. Other ammos have some helpful benefit. Crossbow shot is just like basic ammo
